    Description

The global ticket software solution market is experiencing robust growth, driven by increasing demand for efficient customer service and streamlined internal support processes across diverse industries. The market's expansion is fueled by several key factors, including the rising adoption of cloud-based solutions, the growing need for improved customer experience management (CEM), and the increasing integration of AI and machine learning capabilities into ticketing systems for automation and improved response times. Businesses of all sizes are recognizing the value proposition of ticket software in enhancing operational efficiency, reducing resolution times, and ultimately improving customer satisfaction. This trend is further amplified by the increasing complexity of customer interactions and the need for robust tools to manage them effectively. We estimate the market size in 2025 to be $8 billion, with a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 15% projected from 2025 to 2033, leading to a significant expansion in the coming years. The market is segmented by deployment (cloud, on-premise), functionality (incident management, problem management, request fulfillment), industry (IT, finance, healthcare), and geography. The cloud-based segment currently dominates due to its scalability, cost-effectiveness, and accessibility. However, on-premise solutions maintain a presence in organizations with stringent data security and compliance requirements. North America and Europe currently hold the largest market share, but significant growth potential exists in Asia-Pacific and other emerging regions as businesses in these areas increasingly adopt advanced customer service and IT support technologies. Key players like Zendesk, Freshdesk, and Jira Service Management are driving innovation through continuous product enhancements and strategic acquisitions, fostering competition and driving market maturity. Restraints include the initial investment costs associated with implementation and integration, the need for specialized expertise, and concerns surrounding data security and privacy, particularly in regulated industries.

    Description

The Red Hat Public Process dataset is a extract of Standard Issue types from each of the publically accessible Red Hat Jira Projects available on https://issues.redhat.com/issues/.

It contains data on 490,000 Product Backlog Items (PBIs) in 238 software development systems created over a 23 year period. The dataset contains only the following fields:

    Issue key

    Issue Type

    Status

    Project key

    Project name

    Project type

    Resolution

    Created

    Resolved

The data was extracted between 15 Nov 2024 and 21 Nov 2024 (with minor corrections / additions until 27 Nov 2024).

    Steps to recreate:

Each Jira Project was opened and for those with more than 30 PBIs the data was extracted to a CSV file with the naming convention [SystemName].csv.

For Jira Projects with more than 1000 PBIs the data was sliced using Jira query language using the creation date in a string like "AND createdDate >= 2001-1-1 and createdDate < 2025-1-1". The data was sliced into downloadable chunks of fewer than 1000 PBIs reversing from the 1 Jan 2025 and proceeding to the date of the first PBI created or 1 Jan 2001 - whichever was earlier.

The extracted data was recombined and then filtered to remove all but the required fields, listed above.

The data in teh INPUT zip file can be used for comparing processes between different systems.

We have included some outputs of programmatic analysis of these files in the Outputs zip file. For further information on the Outputs please contact us.

    Description

Replication Package of the paper "From Reports to Bug-Fix Commits: A 10 Years Dataset of Bug-Fixing Activity from 55 Apache's Open Source Projects"ABSTRACT:Bugs appear in almost any software development. Solving all or at least a large part of them requires a great deal of time, effort, and budget. Software projects typically use issue tracking systems as a way to report and monitor bug-fixing tasks. In recent years, several researchers have been conducting bug tracking analysis to better understand the problem and thus provide means to reduce costs and improve the efficiency of the bug-fixing task. In this paper, we introduce a new dataset composed of more than 70,000 bug-fix reports from 10 years of bug-fixing activity of 55 projects from the Apache Software Foundation, distributed in 9 categories. We have mined this information from Jira issue track system concerning two different perspectives of reports with closed/resolved status: static (the latest version of reports) and dynamic (the changes that have occurred in reports over time). We also extract information from the commits (if they exist) that fix such bugs from their respective version-control system (Git). We also provide a change analysis that occurs in the reports as a way of illustrating and characterizing the proposed dataset. Once the data extraction process is an error-prone nontrivial task, we believe such initiatives like this could be useful to support researchers in further more detailed investigations. You can find the full paper at: https://doi.org/10.1145/3345629.3345639If you use this dataset for your research, please reference the following paper:@inproceedings{Vieira:2019:RBC:3345629.3345639, author = {Vieira, Renan and da Silva, Ant^{o}nio and Rocha, Lincoln and Gomes, Jo~{a}o Paulo}, title = {From Reports to Bug-Fix Commits: A 10 Years Dataset of Bug-Fixing Activity from 55 Apache's Open Source Projects}, booktitle = {Proceedings of the Fifteenth International Conference on Predictive Models and Data Analytics in Software Engineering}, series = {PROMISE'19}, year = {2019}, isbn = {978-1-4503-7233-6}, location = {Recife, Brazil}, pages = {80--89}, numpages = {10}, url = {http://doi.acm.org/10.1145/3345629.3345639}, doi = {10.1145/3345629.3345639}, acmid = {3345639}, publisher = {ACM}, address = {New York, NY, USA}, keywords = {Bug-Fix Dataset, Mining Software Repositories, Software Traceability}, } P.S: We added a new dataset version (v1.0.1). The global cinema ticketing systems market is experiencing robust growth, driven by the increasing adoption of digital technologies within the entertainment industry and a rising preference for online ticket purchasing. The market's value is estimated at $2.5 billion in 2025, demonstrating significant expansion from previous years. This growth is fueled by several key factors including the rising popularity of online booking platforms offering convenience and ease of access to movie tickets, the integration of advanced features like mobile ticketing and loyalty programs, and the expansion of multiplex cinemas in emerging economies. Furthermore, the integration of sophisticated analytics capabilities within ticketing systems is enabling cinema operators to enhance their operational efficiency and better understand audience preferences, driving further market growth. A compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of around 12% is projected for the period 2025-2033, indicating a continuously expanding market. However, the market faces certain challenges. Competition amongst established players and the emergence of new entrants necessitates constant innovation and differentiation. Security concerns related to online transactions and data privacy remain crucial aspects to address. Moreover, regional variations in technological adoption and infrastructure limitations in some regions could impact the overall market growth trajectory. Nevertheless, the increasing adoption of mobile ticketing and the growing preference for advanced features like dynamic pricing and seat selection are expected to offset these challenges and contribute significantly to sustained market expansion in the coming years. Description

The paid ticketing software market is experiencing robust growth, driven by increasing demand for efficient and streamlined ticketing solutions across diverse sectors. The market, estimated at $2.5 billion in 2025, is projected to exhibit a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 15% from 2025 to 2033. This expansion is fueled by several key factors. Firstly, the rising adoption of cloud-based solutions offers scalability, accessibility, and reduced infrastructure costs, making them attractive to businesses of all sizes. Secondly, the need for improved customer service and support is pushing organizations to adopt sophisticated ticketing systems that enable efficient issue tracking, resolution, and reporting. Furthermore, the integration of AI-powered features such as automated routing and chatbots is enhancing the speed and accuracy of ticket handling, significantly improving customer satisfaction. Finally, the expanding use of self-service portals empowers customers to resolve issues independently, reducing the burden on support teams. However, market growth is not without its challenges. High initial investment costs for comprehensive software solutions and the complexity of integrating these systems with existing infrastructure can act as significant restraints for smaller businesses. Moreover, the need for ongoing maintenance, training, and potential vendor lock-in could deter some potential adopters. Despite these restraints, the long-term potential of paid ticketing software remains substantial. The market is segmented by deployment (cloud, on-premise), business size (small, medium, large), and industry (IT, healthcare, education, etc.), offering diverse opportunities for specialized software providers. Leading players such as SolarWinds, Zendesk, and Freshworks are actively innovating and expanding their product offerings to cater to evolving customer needs and maintain their competitive edge in this dynamic market.

    Description

The IT Service Desk market is experiencing robust growth, driven by the increasing adoption of cloud-based solutions and the rising demand for efficient IT support across small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) and large enterprises. The market's expansion is fueled by the need for improved IT service management (ITSM) to enhance operational efficiency, reduce downtime, and improve employee productivity. Businesses are increasingly recognizing the value proposition of centralized IT support, enabling faster resolution of issues, improved communication, and a better overall user experience. The shift towards cloud-based IT service desks is a major trend, offering scalability, flexibility, and cost-effectiveness compared to on-premise solutions. However, security concerns and data migration challenges associated with cloud adoption present certain restraints to market growth. Competition is intense, with established players like ServiceNow, Zendesk, and Freshservice vying for market share alongside emerging niche players. The market is segmented by deployment type (cloud-based and on-premise) and customer size (SMBs and large enterprises), with the cloud-based segment demonstrating faster growth due to its inherent advantages. Geographic expansion, particularly in rapidly developing economies in Asia-Pacific and the Middle East & Africa, presents significant opportunities for vendors. The forecast period (2025-2033) anticipates continued growth, propelled by technological advancements such as AI-powered chatbots and automation tools enhancing service desk capabilities. Furthermore, the growing adoption of DevOps practices and the increasing complexity of IT infrastructure are expected to drive demand for sophisticated ITSM solutions. While data privacy regulations and the need for skilled personnel remain challenges, the overall market outlook is positive, reflecting a sustained need for efficient and reliable IT support across all industries and business sizes. The market's evolution will likely see further consolidation as vendors seek to expand their product portfolios and geographical reach, while innovation in areas like proactive service management and predictive analytics will shape the future of the IT service desk landscape.

The market, estimated at $2.5 billion in 2025, is projected to expand significantly over the forecast period (2025-2033), fueled by a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 15%. This growth is primarily attributed to several key factors: the rising adoption of cloud-based solutions offering scalability and cost-effectiveness; the expanding use of ticketing software in diverse sectors like entertainment, sports, and conferences; and the growing need for sophisticated features like real-time reporting, integrated payment gateways, and robust customer relationship management (CRM) capabilities. The market's segmentation reveals strong growth in both large enterprises and SMEs, with cloud-based solutions gaining a significant market share due to their accessibility and flexibility. These include the relatively high initial investment cost of some solutions, the complexity of integrating with existing systems in some cases, and the ongoing need for security updates and maintenance. However, the ongoing technological advancements, particularly in areas like mobile ticketing and AI-powered analytics, are mitigating these restraints and further propelling market expansion. The geographic distribution reveals strong regional variations, with North America and Europe currently holding the largest market share, driven by high levels of digital adoption and a well-established event management infrastructure. Description

Jira is an issue tracking system that supports software companies (among other types of companies) with managing their projects, community, and processes. This dataset is a collection of public Jira repositories downloaded from the internet using the Jira API V2. We collected data from 16 pubic Jira repositories containing 1822 projects and 2.7 million issues. Included in this data are historical records of 32 million changes, 9 million comments, and 1 million issue links that connect the issues in complex ways. This artefact repository contains the data as a MongoDB dump, the scripts used to download the data, the scripts used to interpret the data, and qualitative work conducted to make the data more approachable.
