NZ Suburbs and Localities describes the spatial extent and name of communities in urban areas (suburbs) and rural areas (localities) for navigation and location purposes.
The suburb and locality boundaries cover New Zealand including North Island, South Island, Stewart Island/Rakiura, Chatham Islands, and nearby offshore islands.
Each suburb and locality is assigned a name, major name, Territorial Authority and, if appropriate, additional in use names. A population estimate is provided for each suburb and locality by Stats NZ.

This layer provides the current primary parcel polygons and some associated descriptive data that details the appellation (legal description), purpose, size and a list of titles that have an interest in the parcel.
A primary parcel is a portion of land that is intended to be : • owned by the Crown, except moveable marginal strips • Held in fee simple (predominately private ownership) • Maori freehold land or Maori customary land • Public foreshore and seabed • The bed of a lake or river • Road or Railway • Vested in a local authority

Primary parcels can be thought of as the 'base level' of the 'jigsaw puzzle' of all land making up New Zealand. Other 'levels' are NZ Non-primary parcels that essentially limit the full rights that would normally be associated with a primary parcel for example easements, covenants, leases and moveable marginal strips etc.

This layer has a nominal accuracy of 0.1-1m in urban areas and 1-100m in rural areas. For more detailed information about parcel accuracies please refer to the "https://data.linz.govt.nz/layer/50774">Survey Boundary Marks layer which contains accuracies for each parcel node.
The combination of this layer with the non-primary parcels layer provides all current parcels for New Zealand (i.e. excludes Historic and Pending parcels)

This layer includes all Crown Land and Properties managed by LINZ which have been identified spatially and can include properties managed by LINZ on behalf of other agencies. The attributes in this dataset are derived from the National Property and Land Information System (NaPALIS), which is a centralised database for all Land Information New Zealand (LINZ) and Department of Conservation (DOC) administered land.
The boundaries of many properties are linked to the applicable Landonline Primary Parcel(s), but in some cases the boundaries may have been drawn in as unsurveyed parcels to varying degrees of accuracy. As such please note that the boundaries are indicative only. The layer excludes any LINZ managed properties which do not have an identified location or extent.

This dataset shows the likelihood of uncovering a new archaeological record at a given site in the mainland Wellington Region and Kapiti Island. The layer was created with the intent to assist Local Authorities with their responsibility to identify and provide for historic heritage. The data was produced by WildNorth Ltd and EnviSion Ltd for the Historic Places Trust and Greater Wellington Regional Council, whom both provided the needed datasets. These were then processed using a mix of the Spatial Analyst and Spatial Statistics toolkits in ArcGIS.

The Northland Regional Council Selected Land-use Register (SLR) is a list of selected land-use sites (SLU sites) that have been used for any activity included in the Ministry for the Environment’s Hazardous Activities and Industries List (HAIL).
The HAIL is a compilation of activities and industries that have the potential to result in soil contamination.
The SLR provides a history of land-use for any given property where a HAIL activity has been undertaken (whether current or historical) and not all sites recorded on the SLR are contaminated. The SLR is also not a comprehensive list of all sites that have a HAIL land-use history, it is a live record and therefore continually being updated.
The SLR is currently under review as part of a national consistent data project. Site classifications will be updated and locations will be changing from points to polygons.
The data is updated nightly to incorporate any changes or additions by staff and NRC welcomes dialogue with customers regarding information that we have or that they may have which will fill in any data gaps.

Individual records are portrayed based on abundance at a given site.NZ Freshwater Fish Database | NIWAThe New Zealand Freshwater Fish Database (NZFFD) contains over 50,000 freshwater fish sampling records. Data stored in each record include the location of the sample site, sampling method and the fish species present, with many records also containing information on fish abundance and size, and a physical description of the site. Data from the River Environment Classification (REC) has also been linked to the NZFFD, adding further environmental information to each NZFFD record.Records are contributed voluntarily by people from many different groups including NIWA, the Department of Conservation, regional councils, environmental consultants, universities, fish and game councils, other crown research institutes, schools, iwi groups and members of the public.These pages comprise the online download and data entry system for the NZFFD where you can freely access data and can enter your own records.
