In the 1880 federal census of Marshall County, Tennessee, sixty-eight year old Samuel lived with his wife Mary on their farm along with sons John, Lee, William, Sammie, Richard, and Robert. John was the oldest at twenty, Lee at eighteen, and Robert the youngest at only one year old. The Drivers also had three daughters, Laticia, Narcissia, and Mary.
