TwitterDue to the devastating impact of the Second World War on the Soviet population, the total population in 1950 was almost 15.5 million fewer than in 1940, which is a decrease of eight percent. In Russia (RSFSR), the largest of the Soviet states, the population difference was almost nine million people; also eight percent. It would take until 1955 for the populations of either the USSR or Russia to reach their pre-war levels, which was a decade after the conflict had ended. Urbanization Despite this drop in total population, industrialization and urbanization saw a significant change in the USSR's population distribution between the given years. The Soviet urban population increased by 6.3 million, or ten percent, between 1940 and 1950; 5.8 million of this was in Russia, which was a 15 percent increase. In contrast, the Soviet Union's rural population dropped by 21.8 million (a 17 percent change), 14.5 million of which in Russia (a decrease of 20 percent). In terms of overall population, the urban population of the USSR rose from 33 to 39 percent between 1940 and 1950, and from 34 to 43 percent in Russia. By 1955, 44 percent of the Soviet population, and 49 percent of the Russian population, lived in an urban setting.

The dataset tabulates the Dallas Center population over the last 20 plus years. It lists the population for each year, along with the year on year change in population, as well as the change in percentage terms for each year. The dataset can be utilized to understand the population change of Dallas Center across the last two decades. For example, using this dataset, we can identify if the population is declining or increasing. If there is a change, when the population peaked, or if it is still growing and has not reached its peak. We can also compare the trend with the overall trend of United States population over the same period of time.
Key observations
In 2022, the population of Dallas Center was 1,955, a 1.77% increase year-by-year from 2021. Previously, in 2021, Dallas Center population was 1,921, an increase of 0.79% compared to a population of 1,906 in 2020. Over the last 20 plus years, between 2000 and 2022, population of Dallas Center increased by 364. In this period, the peak population was 1,955 in the year 2022. The numbers suggest that the population has not reached its peak yet and is showing a trend of further growth. Source: U.S. Census Bureau Population Estimates Program (PEP).

TwitterThe segment counts by social group and species or species group for the Waterfowl Breeding Population and Habitat Survey and associated segment effort information. Three data files are included with their associated metadata (html and xml formats). Segment counts are summed counts of waterfowl per segment and are separated into two files, described below, along with the effort table needed to analyze recent segment count information. wbphs_segment_counts_1955to1999_forDistribution.csv, which represents the period prior the collection of geolocated data. There is no associated effort file for these counts and segments with zero birds are included in the segment counts table, so effort can be inferred; there is no information to determine the proportion of each segment surveyed for this period and it must be presumed they were surveyed completely. Number of rows in table = 1,988,290. wbphs_segment_counts_forDistribution.csv, which contains positive segment records only, by species or species group beginning with 2000. wbphs_segment_effort_forDistribution.csv file is important for this segment counts file and can be used to infer zero value segments, by species or species group. Number of rows in table = 381,402. wbphs_segment_effort_forDistribution.csv. The segment survey effort and location from the Waterfowl Breeding Population and Habitat Survey beginning with 2000. If a segment was not flown, it is absent from the table for the corresponding year. Number of rows in table = 67,874. Also included here is a small R code file, createSingleSegmentCountTable.R, which can be run to format the 2000+ data to match the 1955-1999 format and combine the data over the two time periods. Please consult the metadata for an explanation of the fields and other information to understand the limitations of the data.
