    Description

City of Seattle 2 ft contours derived from Lidar captured in 2021. Contour lines display at 2ft, 10ft and 50ft intervals dependent on scale. Lines have been smoothed and generalized for display and performance. Development Detail: This vector tile service includes topographic contour lines representing elevation at 2-foot intervals within the city of Seattle. The contours were derived from a bare earth - digital elevation model (DEM) with a pixel resolution of 1.5 feet. The lidar data that created the DEM were collected by NV5 Geospatial over the spring and summer months of 2021 and provided to the city by King County in 2022. The DEM used to generate the contours was filtered using the Focal Statistics tool in ArcGIS, which served to limit some abrupt changes in cell values. A 3x3 rectangular neighborhood analysis was applied and a mean value was calculated per raster cell. After running the Focal Statistics tool, 2-foot contours were generated from the filtered DEM. To reduce file size and improve performance, the contours were generalized further using the Smooth Line tool in ArcGIS. A smoothing algorithm type of Polynomial Approximation with Exponential Kernel (PAEK) and a smoothing tolerance of 20 feet was selected in the Smooth Line tool parameter options. Finally, after executing both generalization tools (Focal Statistics and Smooth Line), all lines less than 25 feet in length were omitted from the final output. Please note: The 2-foot contours are intended to be used for general reference and cartographic purposes only and should not be used for analysis purposes.

    Description

Contour lines were generated at 2 foot intervals by county using Kansas LiDAR Bare Earth DEMs collected from 2015 through 2018. The source LiDAR Bare Earth DEM tiles are 1 meter resolution USGS QL2 data. A contouring script developed by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources was adapted to create Kansas contours at every 2 feet, 10 feet at a time. Contour lines were then simplified using a 2 foot tolerance, and lines less than 100 feet were removed. There is a identifier in the attribute table for 10 foot contour lines. Generalization of the contours lines over water bodies and roads will have a triangular appearance due to their lack of elevation data.In steep terrain, it is possible that the individual contours lines may cross each other. Due to the processing steps of creating individual lines and then merging lines into a single file, overlaps may exist and have not been and will not be fixed. For more detailed information on the Kansas LiDAR project areas: LinkPresentation at the 2023 Kansas Association of Mappers conference: LinkThe full Kansas geospatial catalog is administered by the Kansas Data Access & Support Center (DASC) and can be found at the following URL: https://hub.kansasgis.org/

    Description

This data set represents smoothed, 2-foot bare earth contours (isolines) for the Lower Androscoggin (01040002) HUC 8 unit. It was derived from a data set which was compiled from LIDAR collections in NH available as of spring, 2019. The raster was filtered using the ArcGIS FOCAL STATISTICS tool with a 3x3 circular neighborhood. The contours were generated using the ArcGIS CONTOUR tool while applying a Z factor of 3.2808 to convert the elevation values from meters to feet. The filtered contours were then smoothed using the ArcGIS SMOOTH LINE tool. The data include an INDEX field with values of 10 and 100 to flag 10 and 100-foot contours. When viewed using this service, contours become visible at scales greater than 1:10,000.

BY USING THIS WEBSITE OR THE CONTENT THEREIN, YOU AGREE TO THE TERMS OF USE.

Data collected between 3/29/17 and 5/3/17. Contours created on 12/13/18. The 1-foot elevation contours were presented as a feature class in an Esri ArcGIS 10.3 File Geodatabase. The contours were derived from Bare-Earth (DEMs) created from QL2 LiDAR data. Source Data Description: MI 2016 LiDAR project called for the Planning, Acquisition, processing and derivative products of LIDAR data to be collected at a nominal pulse spacing (NPS) of 0.7 meter. Project specifications are based on the U.S. Geological Survey National Geospatial Program Base LIDAR Specification, Version 1.2. The data was developed based on a horizontal projection/datum of Michigan State Plane South, NAD83(2011), international feet and vertical datum of NAVD1988 (GEOID12A), international feet. Deliverables included classified LAS, Raw LAS, Bare-Earth hydro-flattened DEMs, Breaklines and Intensity images. Ground Conditions: LiDAR was collected in spring or fall, while no snow was on the ground and rivers were at or below normal levels.

Data created for use in planning, design, assessment, research, general mapping and hydrologic modeling. These 2' contours were created by Oakland County from the 1' contours provided by the State of Michigan in December, 2018.

    Description

Elevation contours covering Napa County at a 2-foot interval. Contour extents were clipped such that they extend 100-ft. beyond the county boundary.Elevation data was derived from bare-earth surface digital elevation models (DEMs) created from LiDAR data flown in 2018 in response to the widespread 2017 fires in Northern California as part of ongoing nationwide 3DEP (U.S. Geological Survey 3D Elevation Program) efforts. In limited areas, located along the western edge of the county boundary, supplemental DEMs were acquired from other sources to fill in gaps in the 3DEP data. Use of this supplemental data was negligible, totaling 24 acres out of 507,475 acres countywide (0.005% of total land area). All DEM tiles (n=41) were merged into a single mosaic. Due to computing limitations, the mosaic was cut into three sections (north, central, and south) of roughly equal size for processing purposes. Two-foot contour lines were generated for each section, then further divided into 1-mile x 1-mile tiles, for a total or 886 tiles.IMPORTANT: refer to the "Tile sources.xlsx" file included in the ZIP for this tile to see what DEMs were used in generating the tile's contours. See "Lineage" section of this metadata for a detailed list of DEM tiles used to generate topo countywide. This topo was prepared under the direction of Patrick Ryan, PE (#85618).The data herein utilizes the NAD_1983_StatePlane_California_II_FIPS_0402_Feet (EPSG:2226) coordinate system (Lambert_Conformal_Conic Projection).Original datums used in the 3DEP DEMs:Horiontal: North American Datum of 1983 (NAD83) Vertical: North American Vertical Datum of 1988 (NAVD88)KNOWN ISSUES / LIMITATIONS:The data herein was generated from DEMs, not the original LiDAR data. This posed certain challenges to the team during processing, namely the inability to utilize point classifications to include/exclude specific types of LiDAR returns. For this reason, in some cases water bodies may show contour lines passing through them. Other issues are mentioned in the Lineage --> Processing Step section of this metadata.

This data set represents smoothed, 2-foot bare earth contours (isolines) for the Suncook River (0107000605) HUC 10 unit. Note on HUC 01060000310: Due to limitations in the source LIDAR data, some anomalies exist in the generated contours in coastal areas of the state. These were left in the data so that users can determine what further processing best meets their application needs.

    Description

This dataset was created to represent the land surface elevation at 1:24,000 scale for Florida. The elevation contour lines representing the land surface elevation were digitized from United States Geological survey 1:24,000 (7.5 minute) quadrangles and were compiled by South Florida, South West Florida, St. Johns River and Suwannee River Water Management Districts and FDEP. QA and corrections to the data were supplied by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection's Florida Geological Survey and the Division of Water Resource Management. This data, representing over 1,000 USGS topographic maps, spans a variety of contour intervals including 1 and 2 meter and 5 and 10 foot. The elevation values have been normalized to feet in the final data layer. Attributes for closed topographic depressions were also captured where closed (hautchered) features were identified and the lowest elevation determined using the closest contour line minus one-half the contour interval. This data was derived from the USGS 1:24,000 topographic map series. The data is more than 20 years old and is likely out-of-date in areas of high human activity.

A spatial representation of two-foot topographic contour lines. This data used to create this line feature class was collected between 3/29/17 and 5/3/17. The 1-foot elevation contours were created on 12/13/18 by Axis Geospatial, and the County then created 2' contours from these. The 1' contours were derived from Bare-Earth (DEMs) created from QL2 LiDAR data that was collected as part of the State of Michigan's 2016 LiDAR project. The key attribute is Contour.
