    Description

There are over 400 service requests types that are reported in the 311 system that affect the quality of life of our citizens, neighborhoods, and communities. The most popular service requests include but are not limited to animal services requests, high weeds, junk motor vehicles, and a number of other code compliance-related issues. Requests that deal with streets and mobility such as street and pot hole repair are also very common. 311 also receives requests to address environmental issues such as water conservation and air quality complaints. This dataset represents all Service Request from October 1, 2020 to present.

    Description

Customer initiated service requests received by 3-1-1 Contact Centre from 2022. Service requests refer only to those call types that generate a request to a City of Vancouver department to provide service. This dataset contains location information such as address or intersection where service was requested and the local area corresponding to the case (incident) location. Due to the volume of records, we segmented the service requests data into multiple datasets. See 3-1-1 service requests 2009-2021 dataset for records from 2009 to 2021. NoteThe 3-1-1 case management system started collecting case service requests data on June 1, 2009. The system was upgraded on August 17, 2022. Department, Division or Call Types beginning with ZZ – OLD refers to obsolete types used in the past. Generally, another call type within the same division, or another division within the same department replaced the obsolete type. When reviewing case location data spatially, consideration should be given to the City’s urban attributes such as vegetation density, population density, age of infrastructure asset, area specific bylaws, etc. Some case types are associated with city locations. Data currencyRecords on or after August 17, 2022 are refreshed daily. Records prior to this date are static. Data accuracyData are electronically extracted from the 3-1-1 case management system.Address data of some selected service request types is not disclosed to provide privacy protection. There may be addresses that do not return coordinates in the gecoding process. These records will appear in the Table view but not on the Map. Websites for further informationContact the City of Vancouver

The dataset contains more than 1 million records/rows of data and cannot be viewed in full in Microsoft Excel. Therefore, when downloading the file, select CSV from the Export menu. Open the file in an ASCII text editor, such as Wordpad, to view and search. Violations are always associated to an inspection and there can be multiple violation records to one(1) inspection record. Data fields requiring description are detailed below. VIOLATION DATE: The date the violation was cited. INSPECTION CATEGORY: Inspections are categorized by one of the following: COMPLAINT – Inspection is a result of a 311 Complaint PERIODIC – Inspection is a result of recurring inspection (typically on an annual cycle) PERMIT – Inspection is a result of a Permit REGISTRATION – Inspection is a result of a Registration (typically Vacant Building Registration) PROPERTY GROUP: Properties (lots) in the City of Chicago can typically have multiple point addresses, range addresses and buildings. Examples are corner lots, large lots, lots with front and rear buildings, etc.. Description

Violations issued by the Department of Buildings in the City of Chicago from 2006 to the present. As a result, inspections (and their associated violations), permits and complaints related to a single property could have different addresses. This problem can be reconciled by using Property Group. All point and range addresses for a property are assigned the same Property Group key. Data Owner: Buildings Time Period: January 1, 2006 to present Frequency: Data is updated daily Related Applications: Building Data Warehouse http://www.cityofchicago.org/city/en/depts/bldgs/provdrs/inspect/svcs/building_violationsonline.html
