Alberta Satellite Land Cover (ASLC) raster is produced for Government of Alberta and is available to the general public. The ASLC Mosaic is a land cover dataset for the province of Alberta. It is a set of individual projects completed in the last decade for wildfire historical burns and various areas. As the remote sensing technology and related information extraction approaches have made significant advancements during last 20 years the process naturally evolved from classification schema targeting Landsat 5 to one integrating various sources of remote sensing data, information extraction procedures, different open and commercial toolboxes for processing and more automation. Integration of multiple data types includes various optical and radar data free of charge as well as GOA's purchased LiDAR data swaths. Since raster values in products from individual projects are identical with values of initial Alberta Ground Cover Classification product, it was possible to merge all those into new ASLC raster.
This presentation gives an overview of remote sensing and the SPOT satellite data group. Examples are given of SPOT images and different resolutions. The presentation finishes with a look at applications of SPOT and the advantages to using SPOT imagery.

This dataset provides digital images and videos of surface ice conditions were collected from two Alberta rivers - North Saskatchewan River and Peace River - in the 2016-2017 winter seasons.Images from North Saskatchewan River were collected using both Reconyx PC800 Hyperfire Professional game cameras mounted on two bridges in Edmonton as well as a Blade Chroma UAV equipped with a CGO3 4K camera at the Genesee boat launch.Data for the Peace River was collected using only the UAV at the Dunvegan Bridge boat launch and Shaftesbury Ferry crossing.
Woodland caribou habitat mapping in northern Alberta is incomplete and imprecise, as habitat relationships are not fully understood, and land cover mapping is neither consistent nor complete. This report examines the results of a methodology that integrates Landsat 5 Thematic Mapper imagery in the northeast boreal region and a dataset containing nearly 100,000 caribou locations acquired from global positioning system radio-collars for thirty-six individuals in order to identify the areas of potential use by caribou. The results demonstrate how remote sensing, geographic information systems techniques, and ecological information can produce the kinds of information necessary for sustainable land management.
This GIS dataset portrays the distribution of glacial landforms in Alberta, based on the compilation of existing government survey mapping and research literature, supplemented by new analysis of remote sensing data. It is the dataset that was used to create Alberta Geological Survey Map 604 (Glacial Landforms of Alberta) using an intermediate step of reducing the density of closely spaced line segments to make the features suitable for map production at 1:1 000 000 scale. This dataset contains the original line features without any cartographic generalization. The data were created in geodatabase format and output for public distribution in shapefile format.

All available bathymetry and related information for Eden Lake were collected and hard copy maps digitized where necessary. The data were validated against more recent data (Shuttle Radar Topography Mission 'SRTM' imagery and Indian Remote Sensing 'IRS' imagery) and corrected where necessary. The published data set contains the lake bathymetry formatted as an Arc ascii grid. Bathymetric contours and the boundary polygon are available as shapefiles.
