This collection includes cross-curricular map concepts taught at the upper elementary level, with an emphasis on connections to Common Core State Standards in social studies and science. Activities address time zones, weather maps, westward expansion, and regionalisation. These GeoInquiries were designed for use in the US education system. GeoInquiries are designed to be fast and easy-to-use instructional resources that incorporate advanced web mapping technology. Each 15-minute activity in a collection is intended to be presented by the instructor from a single computer/projector classroom arrangement. In 2015 the Ministry of Education withdrew the majority of its school bus network in Tauranga. Bay of Plenty Regional Council is providing a replacement bus service called School Hopper. The changes are due to a Ministry of Education policy based on the growth of Tauranga and access in the urban area to an established public transport network.
