TwitterThis dataset is part of the Cadastral National Spatial Data Infrastructure (CadNSDI) publication dataset for rectangular and non‐rectangular Public Land Survey System (PLSS) data.
This dataset represents the GIS Version of the Public Land Survey System including both rectangular and non-rectangular surveys. The primary source for the data is cadastral survey records housed by the BLM supplemented with local records and geographic control coordinates from states, counties as well as other federal agencies such as the USGS and USFS. The data has been converted from source documents to digital form and transferred into a GIS format that is compliant with FGDC Cadastral Data Content Standards and Guidelines for publication. This data is optimized for data publication and sharing rather than for specific "production" or operation and maintenance. This data set includes the following: PLSS Fully Intersected (all of the PLSS feature at the atomic or smallest polygon level), PLSS Townships, First Divisions and Second Divisions (the hierarchical break down of the PLSS Rectangular surveys) PLSS Special surveys (non-rectangular components of the PLSS) Meandered Water, Corners and Conflicted Areas (known areas of gaps or overlaps between Townships or state boundaries). The Entity-‐ Attribute section of this metadata describes these components in greater detail.
The CadNSDI or the Cadastral Publication Data Standard is the cadastral data component of the NSDI. This is the publication guideline for cadastral data that is intended to provide a common format and structure and content for cadastral information that can be made available across jurisdictional boundaries, providing a consistent and uniform cadastral data to meet business need that includes connections to the source information from the data stewards. The data stewards determine which data are published and should be contacted for any questions on data content or for additional information. The cadastral publication data is data provided by cadastral data producers in a standard form on a regular basis.
Cadastral publication data has two primary components, land parcel data and cadastral reference data. It is important to recognize that the publication data are not the same as the operation and maintenance or production data. The production data is structured to optimize maintenance processes, is integrated with internal agency operations and contains much more detail than the publication data. The publication data is a subset of the more complete production data and is reformatted to meet a national standard so data can be integrated across jurisdictional boundaries and be presented in a consistent and standard form nationally.

TwitterAdministered Lands is a BLM Alaska GIS dataset that combines publicly available borough, municipality, state, federal, and other entity management and ownership GIS data. This is the basis for BLM’s national Surface Management Agency GIS dataset that was developed to fulfill the public and Government’s need to know what agency is managing Federal land in a given area. This data set is comprised of various sources of geospatial information that have been acquired from local, state and federal agencies in order to assemble a comprehensive representation of current land surface manager. There are many land managing agencies and branches of government and this dataset attempts to classify these entities into general categories. This data does not demonstrate or infer land ownership. The business need for this data includes, but is not limited to, land use planning, permitting, recreation, and emergency response. Due to the nature of assembling geospatial information from multiple sources, integration of features into a single layer may introduce inaccurate artifacts. Acquired datasets have been cross-walked to a standardized schema to aid in the depiction of land surface manager across the state of Alaska. This dataset will contain errors. For the most up to date and accurate information, please contact the surface manager agency for the area in which you are interested.

TwitterThis data viewer provides access to a variety of geospatial data layers that can be used to help implement the Department of Interior's Integrated Rangeland Fire Management Strategy (IRFMS) which "sets forth enhanced policies and strategies for preventing suppressing rangeland fire and for restoring sagebrush landscapes impact by fire across the West".Multiple government agencies, including the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), US Geological Survey (USGS) and US Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), and partners are collectively contributing data layers to this viewer. These data are related to sagebrush ecosystems, fire and invasive species, and the Greater Sage-Grouse (GRSG). TwitterThis layer represents the boundaries for existing and in-progress BLM Land Use Planning Area (LUPA) polygons. Land Use Planning Areas are geographic areas within which the BLM will make decisions during a land use planning effort. Land Use Planning Area Boundaries shift from an "in-progress" status and become Existing Land Use Planning Areas when the Land Use Plan has been approved and a Record of Decision Date has been established.

TwitterNavigator is the Bureau of Land Management's open data site which allows the public to access the BLM geospatial data. Navigator provides a centralized location to discover and access BLMs geospatial data and serves both internal BLM staff as well as the general public. Navigator indexes and provides access to geospatial data from project, state and national levels, so everything from small scale projects to national data compilations can be shared internally and externally . Future plans include exposure of more web and map services to allow for direct use and analysis of BLM data.

TwitterThis data has been collected by the U.S. Bureau of Land Management (BLM) in New Mexico at the New Mexico State Office. The initial data source is the statewide Public Land Survey System (PLSS) coverage for the state of New Mexico, generated at the BLM New Mexico State Office. Additional data was onscreen-digitized from BLM Cadastral Survey Plats and Master Title Plats, or tablet-digitized from 1:24,000 paper maps. This revision reflects boundary adjustments made in the Albuquerque area to more accurately reflect boundaries as depicted on USGS 1:24,000 topographic maps. Note for Shapefiles: Shapefiles have been created from coverages using the "Export Coverage to Shapefile" function in ArcGIS 8.3. All occurrences of "#" and "-" in INFO item names are replaced with an underscore character. This includes COVER# and COVER-ID, which become "COVER_" and "COVER_ID". Additionally, the Shapefile format only allows 10 characters in item names, so long item names are truncated. To avoid duplicate names, the items are truncated and assigned consecutive numbers. For example, in a coverage called CITY_STREET the items "CITY_STREET#" and "CITY_STREET-ID" become "CITY_STRE" and "CITY_STR_1" .

TwitterTravel management is an approach to establishing networks of roads for travel and transportation including areas for both motorized and non-motorized uses. Travel management planning is necessary for designating and providing appropriate access to and across public lands for a variety of uses. Travel management plans (TMPs) and off-highway vehicle (OHV) areas are developed as part of the Land Use Planning process. Travel Management Area (TMA) polygons are used for planning purposes only and can exist without a Travel Management Plan or Resource Management Plan (RMP).

TwitterIn Alaska, the Bureau of Land Management has been tasked with the largest land transfer effort ever taken in the United States. For more than 30 years, the BLM has been involved with the survey and conveyance of lands in Alaska under three statutes: the Native Allotment Act of 1906; the Alaska Statehood Act, and the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA). The work being done to implement these laws is collectively called the Alaska Land Transfer Program. The Alaska Land Transfer Program has three distinct phases: preliminary adjudication and application approval; cadastral survey; and conveyance of lands and entitlements.
