Provide government data open platform download and browse statistics for each dataset

Between July and December 2025, Google received 58,149 requests for disclosure of user information from the United States federal agencies and courts. This is a decrease in comparison to the first half of 2025, in which over 60,933 requests were issued.

In the second half of 2025, 89 percent of user data requests sent to Google by government agencies in the United States resulted in the disclosure of some data. Overall, the percentage of user data requests in the U.S. with some disclosure has increased in recent years.

The US government is a major producer of economic and financial data, statistics, analysis, and forecasts that are gathered, compiled, and published as public goods for use by citizens, government agencies, researchers, nonprofits, and the business community. There is no market transaction in the publication and dissemination of these government data and therefore no market-determined value. The purpose of this paper is to outline and augment our understanding of the value of government data for business decision-making. We provide an overview of the topic, including results from government reports and a private sector survey. We then provide concrete examples of how these government data are used to make business decisions focusing on three sectors: automotive, energy, and financial services. Examples of new initiatives by the federal government to open access to more data, exploiting technology advances associated with the internet, cloud storage, and software applications, are discussed. With the significant growth in the digital economy, we also include discussion and insights around how digital platform companies utilize government data in conjunction with their privately generated data (or "big data") to foster more informed business decisions.

The government spends a large amount of funds on building, rehabilitating, maintaining, operating, and administering the infrastructure system. Government revenue generated from several sources including user fees, taxes from transportation and non-transportation-related activities, borrowing, and grants from federal, state, and local governments primarily supports these activities.

Government Transportation Financial Statistics (GTFS) provides a set of maps, charts, and tables with information on transportation-related revenue and expenditures for all levels of government, including federal, state, and local, and for all modes of transportation.

The National Accounts are based on the international definitions of the European System of Accounts (ESA 2010). Small temporary differences with publications of the National Accounts may occur due to the fact that the government finance statistics are sometimes more up to date.

In this publication there are differences between the national accounts and government finance statistics in 2021. The national accounts will be aligned with government finance statistics on 24 June 2024.

Status of the figures: The figures for the period 1995-2020 are final. The quarterly figures for 2021 are provisional. The annual figures for 2021 are final. The figures for 2022 and 2023 are provisional. Because this table is discontinued, figures will not be updated anymore.

Initial quarterly figures are published three months after the end of the quarter. In September the figures on the first quarter are revised, in December the figures on the second quarter are revised and in March the first three quarters are revised. Yearly figures are published for the first time three months after the end of the year concerned. Yearly figures are revised two times: 6 and 18 months after the end of the year. Please note that there is a possibility that adjustments might take place at the end of March or September, in order to provide the European Commission with the latest figures. Revised yearly figures are published in June each year. Quarterly figures are aligned to revised years at the end of June. More information on the revision policy of National Accounts can be found under 'relevant articles' under paragraph 3.

In the second half of 2025, Google received a total of 1,248 requests for disclosure of Enterprise Cloud customer information from federal agencies and governments worldwide, while the number of Enterprise Cloud customers named in the requests during the period amounted to 1,503.

In the second half of 2025, Google received 9,999 requests for user information from government agencies in France. This figure has fluctuated since the first half of 2019, when the number of user data requests was 6,777. In the measured period, the highest number of such requests was registered in the second half of 2025.
