Address points were developed to supplement the address information supplied by the CSCL centerline. Some computer aided dispatch systems use address points as the primary source for locating an address. This dataset shows the Address Points in Allegheny County. The Address Points were created by GDR for the Allegheny County CAD project, October 2008. Data is updated by County staff as changes and corrections are found, on a continuous basis. Updates are sent to PASDA monthly. The most authoritative source for this data is now the PASDA page (https://www.pasda.psu.edu/uci/DataSummary.aspx?dataset=1219), which includes links to historical versions of the shapefile representations of this data.
Locations of all authoritative site addresses for Fairfax County. These addresses reside and are maintained in the Fairfax Master Address Repository (MAR) which is housed in the enterprise GIS database. This data contains not only the address, including street name, unit numbers for condominiums, city, state, and zip, but also several other related attributes such as jurisdiction and subdivision name that the address resides. This layer is updated daily from the data maintained in the MAR layer and related tables. Updates to this data occur when address data is recorded or approved and authorized by Land Development Service, Facilitation and Address Center (LDS-FAC).
Important information about unit numbers. This data is based on ownership and address site location. Therefore, addresses for apartment buildings will just have the primary building address. They will not include the unit numbers as there is no requirement for submission of unit numbers for apartment buildings in the county. Addresses for condominiums will have the primary address as well as the unit number as these are recorded with the Act of Condominium documents and each unit has separate ownership.

Connecticut address point dataset used for locating 9-1-1 calls. The address point feature class format is derived from National Emergency Number Association (NENA) and Federal Geographic Data Committee (FGDC) addressing standards. All address components, like address number, streets name and unit number, are broken up into their individual components to enable maximum flexibility for use. Fields within feature class should be able to accommodate all addresses within the state of Connecticut. The source for the addresses is primarily derived from municipal parcel data and other municipal sources.
National Address DatabaseThis National Geospatial Data Asset (NGDA) dataset, shared as a U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) feature layer, displays address data in the United States. Per USDOT, "The U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) and its partners from all levels of government recognize the need for a National Address Database (NAD). Accurate and up-to-date addresses are critical to transportation safety and are a vital part of Next Generation 9-1-1. They are also essential for a broad range of government services, including mail delivery, permitting, and school siting. To meet this need, USDOT partners with address programs from state, local, and tribal governments to compile their authoritative data into the NAD."District of Columbia (DC) Residential AddressesData currency: Current federal service (Address Points from National Address Database)NGDAID: 196 (National Address Database (NAD))For more information: Getting to know the National Address Database (NAD); National Address DatabaseFor feedback, please contact: Esri_US_Federal_Data@esri.comNGDA Data SetThis data set is part of the NGDA Transportation Theme Community. Per the Federal Geospatial Data Committee (FGDC), Transportation is defined as the "means and aids for conveying persons and/or goods. The TIGER/Line shapefiles and related database files (.dbf) are an extract of selected geographic and cartographic information from the U.S. Census Bureau's Master Address File / Topologically Integrated Geographic Encoding and Referencing (MAF/TIGER) Database (MTDB). The MTDB represents a seamless national file with no overlaps or gaps between parts, however, each TIGER/Line shapefile is designed to stand alone as an independent data set, or they can be combined to cover the entire nation. The Address Ranges Feature Shapefile (ADDRFEAT.dbf) contains the geospatial edge geometry and attributes of all unsuppressed address ranges for a county or county equivalent area. The term "address range" refers to the collection of all possible structure numbers from the first structure number to the last structure number and all numbers of a specified parity in between along an edge side relative to the direction in which the edge is coded. Single-address address ranges have been suppressed to maintain the confidentiality of the addresses they describe. Multiple coincident address range feature edge records are represented in the shapefile if more than one left or right address ranges are associated to the edge. The ADDRFEAT shapefile contains a record for each address range to street name combination. Address range associated to more than one street name are also represented by multiple coincident address range feature edge records. Note that the ADDRFEAT shapefile includes all unsuppressed address ranges compared to the All Lines Shapefile (EDGES.shp) which only includes the most inclusive address range associated with each side of a street edge. The TIGER/Line shapefile contain potential address ranges, not individual addresses. The address ranges in the TIGER/Line Files are potential ranges that include the full range of possible structure numbers even though the actual structures may not exist.

Address points mark the location of each addressable structure and its access point. The access point is the place where a driveway intersects the road. The building point is where the structure is located. An addressable structure is one where people live, work, or gather. A 1 to 5-digit number designates an address. Purpose: The access point is used to assign an address to the structure. Addresses are also assigned to assist in the provision of emergency services; they can be queried at all Fire and Rescue stations and by E-911 dispatchers.
