In this ever-changing environment you need to have confidence that you're using the latest and most up-to-date addressing data. AddressBase Core is released weekly, keeping you more up to date with change. AddressBase Core's primary source of addressing information is local authority data. They have the legal responsibility to capture and maintain address data for Great Britain, so you can be sure of its authenticity and legal nature. Also, we're including accurate locations for around 33 million addresses, as well as additional information on the usage of the address. Full Great Britain only; user defined areas of interest planned. Contains local authority addresses supplemented with Royal Mail postal address information, where matched to a UPRN; coordinates for each address; addresses with multiple occupants, secondary level classification. OS MasterMap Topography Layer TOID, and Integrated Transport Network TOIDs, Unique Street Reference Number (USRN).

The National Address Base is a database which aims to reference all addresses in French territory.

It contains the geographical position of more than 25 million addresses.

It is made up of collaboration between:

• national actors such as IGN, La Poste and La Poste,
• local actors such as communities, municipalities, SDIS,
• citizens for example through the OpenStreetMap project and the OpenStreetMap France association.

The project is co-governed by the General Data Administrator and the National Council for Geographic Information.

It is distributed on the site address.data.gouv.fr developed by the Etalab mission of the General Secretariat for the Modernization of Public Action (SGMAP).

The data is available under two licenses:< /p>

A free geocoding service is made available by the Etalab mission.

This dataset comes from the Open National Address Base project initiated by OpenStreetMap France.

These files are offered in shapefile format, in WGS84 projection (EPSG :4326) as well as in CSV format and experimentally in the form of github project.

Description of content

For each address:

• id (unique): code_insee + codefantoir + number
• number: number in the lane with suffix (ex: 1, 1BIS, 1D)
• lane: lane name
• post_code: 5-character postal code
• city: name of the municipality
• source: OSM = data directly from OpenStreetMap, OD = data from local opendata sources, CAD = data directly from the land register, C+O = data from the land register in Richie by OSM (lane name for example)
• lat: latitude in decimal degrees WGS84
• lon: longitude in decimal degrees WGS84

Update updated, corrections

To update and correct BANO data, simply make improvements directly in OpenStreetMap, they will be taken into account in the next update cycle.

A collaborative single window for reporting/correction will soon be set up to simplify the process of improving the content of the database. To participate in its co-construction, do not hesitate to contact us!

The National Address Base is one of the nine public reference data service databases. It is the only address database officially recognized by the administration.

Digital service for shared use and basic infrastructure on which many public policies are based, it is part of the information system and communication of the State and is as such placed under the responsibility of the Prime Minister.

Its management is ensured by the Interministerial Digital Directorate (DINUM), which is responsible for define the terms of governance and operation (following a decision by the Prime Minister).

Its construction is ensured thanks to numerous partners, and primarily by the municipalities , the only competent authorities in terms of addressing.
