    This dataset is designed to represent and identify the property boundaries in Lexington-Fayette County. The original dataset was created in late 1990's by a third party that converted existing paper maps to digital GIS files. The data has since been updated by georeferencing recorded plats for corrections and new additions. In cases where the plats do not appear accurate, aerial photos are utilized in attempt to properly locate the property lines. The only except for this process are changes to highway right-of-way in which calls are run from deeds. The geometry of this data is not of survey quality and should not be used for survey purposes. The data is intended for general reference purposes only.As part of the basemap data layers, the parcel boundary map layer is an integral part of the Lexington Fayette-Urban County Government Geographic Information System. Basemap data layers are accessed by personnel in most LFUCG divisions for basic applications such as viewing, querying, and map output production. More advanced user applications may focus on thematic mapping, summarization of data by geography, or planning purposes (including defining boundaries, managing assets and facilities, integrating attribute databases with geographic features, spatial analysis, and presentation output).

    This app displays a series of general information for an address, location, or where the user clicks in DC. Some information returned are:Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) areaCombined Sewer System (CSS) areaWatershed, Subwatershed, HUC12, HUC14, HUC16Ward, ANC, SMD, and the address of the locationCensus Tract and zip code For addresses along the borders of watersheds and sewer areas, further investigation should be taken. For hydrologic calculations and determinations, the USGS Watershed Boundary Dataset (WBD) should be referenced.DC Water operates a "separate" (MS4) and "combined" (CSS) sewers. Since the early 1900's, sewers constructed within the District have been separate systems and no new combined sewer systems have been built. These two independent piping systems: CSS mixes "sanitary" (sewage from homes and businesses) with stormwater while the MS4 is for "stormwater" only. In the District, approximately two thirds of the District is served by the MS4. The remaining one-third is served by the CSS.Areas highlighted in blue are MS4, in orange are CSS, and in green are direct drain areas that drain directly to streams and rivers.The MS4 system discharges into portions of the Potomac, Anacostia and Rock Creek drainage areas.     State law requires sellers of real property to disclose "any fact materially affecting the value and desirability of the property". Assembly Bill 2776, which went into effect January 1, 2004, requires such disclosure when the property is either within two miles of an airport or if it is within an "airport influence area". The disclosure notice must state that the property may be subject to noise, vibration, odors or other annoyances or inconveniences "associated with proximity to airport operations". This law defines the "airport influence area" as the area where airport-related factors "may significantly affect land uses or necessitate restrictions on those uses as determined by an airport land use commission". The California Public Utilities Code establishes airport land use commissions in every county to provide for the orderly development of air transportation and ensure compatible land uses around airports which are open to public use. According to the State Division of Aeronautics, the "airport influence area" is usually the planning area designated by an airport land use commission for each airport.     This dataset is designed to represent and identify the general locations of city and state maintained parks within Lexington-Fayette County. One private park, Triangle Park, is included in the dataset due to its integration into downtown Lexington. The dataset is programmatically created and updated by converting the polygon centroids of the LFUCG Park boundary polygon layer to a point layer . The park property inventory is maintained by the LFUCG Division of Parks and changes are conveyed to the GIS Office for inclusion. This dataset participates in a topology with the parcel dataset to assure coincident geometry during parcel editing.As part of the basemap data layers, the park point map layer is an integral part of the Lexington Fayette-Urban County Government Geographic Information System. Basemap data layers are accessed by personnel in most LFUCG divisions for basic applications such as viewing, querying, and map output production.     When severe weather occurs in the United States, there are networks of humans and sensors that observe and report the events and their details to the National Weather Service. These storm reports are aggregated and archived by NOAA's National Centers for Environmental Information. With over 1.7 million records over 70 years, the Storm Events Database is the most comprehensive, official record of severe weather in the U.S. This layer is a simplified version of the full database, providing information on:DateLocationEvent TypeNumber of injuries and deathsEstimated property damageEvent/episode summariesUse the NOAA Storm Events Database Explorer ArcGIS Dashboard for a more interactive data exploration. Known Data Quality Issue: approximately 650,000 of the 1.71 million features do not include latitude or longitude values in the original NOAA data source. To address these issues in the 2021 data update, the following has been done:Use the county and state fields the geolocate unknown locations using the ArcGIS World Geocoding Service. These events will all appear at the county centroid. There are a total of 646,039 records in this category. The field LatLon Known describes if an original geolocation was provided (Yes) or if it was generated per above (No).Marine (CZ_Type = M) locations without a known lat/lon were not included. There are a total of 3,987 records in this category. For related archives of weather information, please see the Windstorm Points and Paths, Hailstorm Points and Paths, and Historical Hurricane layers.Data caveatsPer NCEI, the "National Weather Service receives their information from a variety of sources, which include but are not limited to: county, state and federal emergency management officials, local law enforcement officials, skywarn spotters, NWS damage surveys, newspaper clipping services, the insurance industry and the general public, among others." However, these sources are all population-dependent, and many severe weather events are assumed to not be reported in areas of low population. Not only does this bias occur across space, but also across time as many areas had lower populations in the mid-20th Century, and more advanced networks and reporting methods have evolved with technology.

A - sand, loamy sand, sandy loam B - loam, silt, loam or silt C - sandy clay loam D - clay loam, silty clay loam, sandy clay, silty clay, or clay The gridded National Soil Survey Geographic Database (gNATSGO) is a USDA-NRCS Soil & Plant Science Division (SPSD) composite database that provides complete coverage of the best available soils information for all areas of the United States and Island Territories. It was created by combining data from the Soil Survey Geographic Database (SSURGO), State Soil Geographic Database (STATSGO2), and Raster Soil Survey Databases (RSS) into a single seamless ESRI file geodatabase. The state-wide gNATSGO databases contain a 10-meter raster of the soil map units and 70 related tables of soil properties and interpretations. It is designed to work with the SPSD gSSURGO ArcTools. Users can create full coverage thematic maps and grids of soil properties and interpretations for large geographic areas, such as the extent of a State or the conterminous United States. Please note that for the CONUS database, only a 30 meter raster is included. SSURGO is the SPSD flagship soils database that has over 100 years of field-validated detailed soil mapping data. SSURGO contains soils information for more than 90 percent of the United States and island territories, but unmapped land remains. Click here for the current completion status of SSURGO mapping. STATSGO2 is a general soil map that has soils data for all of the United States and island territories, but the data is not as detailed as the SSURGO data. The soil map units are delivered only as a 10-meter raster version and are uniquely identified by the mukey, which is included in the attribute table. No vectorized version of the soil map units is included in gNATSGO. The database has 70 tables that contain soil attributes, and relationship classes are built into the database to define relationships among tables. The raster can be joined to the Mapunit and Muaggatt tables in the MUKEY field. The database contains a feature class called SAPOLYGON. The “source” field in this feature class indicates whether the data was derived from SSURGO, STATSGO2, or an RSS. Parcels are viewable when searching for an address or by zooming into the street level. You can change the underlying basemap using the basemap tab below the location query. There is a measurement tab located below the location query. This web map application has print capability as well. By selecting the print icon below the location query, you can select the desired format as well, i.e. jpeg, pdf, ect. You can give the document a name by selecting the "advanced options" button. Select "print" and the app will produce the map in the given layout and format.

    The PALEOMAP project produces paleogreographic maps illustrating the Earth's plate tectonic, paleogeographic, climatic, oceanographic and biogeographic development from the Precambrian to the Modern World and beyond.

    A series of digital data sets has been produced consisting of plate tectonic data, climatically sensitive lithofacies, and biogeographic data. Software has been devloped to plot maps using the PALEOMAP plate tectonic model and digital geographic data sets: PGIS/Mac, Plate Tracker for Windows 95, Paleocontinental Mapper and Editor (PCME), Earth System History GIS (ESH-GIS), PaleoGIS(uses ArcView), and PALEOMAPPER.

    Teaching materials for educators including atlases, slide sets, VHS animations, JPEG images and CD-ROM digital images.

    Some PALEOMAP products include: Plate Tectonic Computer Animation (VHS) illustrating motions of the continents during the last 850 million years.

    Paleogeographic Atlas consisting of 20 full color paleogeographic maps. (Scotese, 1997).

    Paleogeographic Digital Images (JPEG, PC/Mac diskettes)

    Paleogeographic Digital Image Archive (EPS, PC/Mac Zip disk) consists of the complete digital archive of original digital graphic files used to produce plate tectonic and paleographic maps for the Paleographic Atlas.

    Forest Ecosystem Dynamics (FED) Project Spatial Data Archive: Elevation Contours for the Northern Experimental Forest

    The Biospheric Sciences Branch (formerly Earth Resources Branch) within the Laboratory for Terrestrial Physics at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center and associated University investigators are involved in a research program entitled Forest Ecosystem Dynamics (FED) which is fundamentally concerned with vegetation change of forest ecosystems at local to regional spatial scales (100 to 10,000 meters) and temporal scales ranging from monthly to decadal periods (10 to 100 years). The nature and extent of the impacts of these changes, as well as the feedbacks to global climate, may be addressed through modeling the interactions of the vegetation, soil, and energy components of the boreal ecosystem.

    The Howland Forest research site lies within the Northern Experimental Forest of International Paper. The natural stands in this boreal-northern hardwood transitional forest consist of spruce-hemlock-fir, aspen-birch, and hemlock-hardwood mixtures. The topography of the region varies from flat to gently rolling, with a maximum elevation change of less than 68 m within 10 km. Due to the region's glacial history, soil drainage classes within a small area may vary widely, from well drained to poorly drained. Consequently, an elaborate patchwork of forest communities has developed, supporting exceptional local species diversity.

    This data layer contains elevation contours for the 10 X 10 km area located within the Northern Experimental Forest. Contours and elevation benchmarks from the United States Geological Survey 7.5" Maine quadsheets for Howland and Lagrange were digitized, and elevation data in feet were added.

    The data was revised by projecting it into NAD83 datum by L. Prihodko at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. Although the data was received at GSFC with an undeclared datum, it was assumed to be in North American Datum of 1927 (NAD27) because the original map from which the data were digitized was in NAD27. Also, the data fit exactly within the bounds of the FED site grid (even Universal Transverse Mercator projections) in NAD27. After projecting the data into NAD83 it was checked to insure that the change was a linear translation of the coordinates.

    This is the zoning layer for UNINCORPORATED areas of Los Angeles County. It does not draw at all scales because there are lots of records (so basically for speed and performance), so it is scale dependent. Also, why only for UNINCORPORATED areas? Because there are 88 cities in L.A. County and they each manage their zoning and land use information separately.

    PLEASE NOTE: Santa Catalina Island is not included in this dataset. It is in a separate data layer since Catalina has specific zoning categories that differ from the Countywide zoning categories found in Title 22. The Department of Regional Planning performs all land use planning functions for the UNINCORPORATED areas of Los Angeles County.     North Carolina Effective Flood zones: In 2000, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) designated North Carolina a Cooperating Technical Partner State, formalizing an agreement between FEMA and the State to modernize flood maps. This partnership resulted in creation of the North Carolina Floodplain Mapping Program (NCFMP). As a CTS, the State assumed primary ownership and responsibility of the Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs) for all North Carolina communities as part of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). This project includes conducting flood hazard analyses and producing updated, Digital Flood Insurance Rate Maps (DFIRMs). Floodplain management is a process that aims to achieve reduced losses due to flooding. It takes on many forms, but is realized through a series of federal, state, and local programs and regulations, in concert with industry practice, to identify flood risk, implement methods to protect man-made development from flooding, and protect the natural and beneficial functions of floodplains.     A web map used to visualize available digital parcel data for Organized Towns and Unorganized Territories throughout the state of Maine. Individual towns submit parcel data on a voluntary basis; the data are compiled by the Maine Office of GIS for dissemination by the Maine GeoLibrary, and where available, the web map also includes assessor data contained in the Parcels_ADB related table.This web map is intended for use within the Maine Geoparcel Viewer Application; it is not intended for use as a standalone web map.Within Maine, real property data is maintained by the government organization responsible for assessing and collecting property tax for a given location. Organized towns and townships maintain authoritative data for their communities and may voluntarily submit these data to the Maine GeoLibrary Parcel Project. Maine Parcels Organized Towns and Maine Parcels Organized Towns ADB are the product of these voluntary submissions. Communities provide updates to the Maine GeoLibrary on a non-regular basis, sometimes many years apart, which affects the currency of Maine GeoLibrary parcels data. Another resource for real property transaction data is the County Registry of Deeds, although organized town data should very closely match registry information, except in the case of in-process property conveyance transactions.
