    This dataset consists of annotated high-resolution aerial imagery of roof materials in Bonn, Germany, in the Ultralytics YOLO instance segmentation dataset format. Aerial imagery was sourced from OpenAerialMap, specifically from the Maxar Open Data Program. Roof material labels and building outlines were sourced from OpenStreetMap. Images and labels are split into training, validation, and test sets, meant for future machine learning models to be trained upon, for both building segmentation and roof type classification.The dataset is intended for applications such as informing studies on thermal efficiency, roof durability, heritage conservation, or socioeconomic analyses. There are six roof material types: roof tiles, tar paper, metal, concrete, gravel, and glass.Note: The data is in a .zip due to file upload limits.
