    Description

The new FJSRC linking system, implemented with the 2008 FJSRC data, includes sets of agency dyad linked files created by improved methods of algorithmic matching. There are both inter-agency linked files and intra-agency dyad linked files. The inter-agency matched pair files (or "dyads") permit the linking of records from two different source agencies for adjacent stages of federal case processing by providing a crosswalk of the agency-specific key ID variables for the two agency data files in the pair. These agency ID variables (sequential ID numbers) may be used to link records from one agency's standard analysis file (SAF) to the next. The system enables users to track individual defendant-cases through stages of the federal criminal justice system (from arrest to prosecution, adjudication, sentencing, and corrections) sequentially, one agency dyad pair at a time. Each inter-agency paired linked file relates the sequential record numbers (i.e. SEQ_NUM) included in the SAFs from one agency/stage to another. The intra-agency matched pair files (also dyads) permit the same type of linking as described above except that the linkages are within the same federal agency. The linkages are to different stages of case processing withing a particular agency. The system covers all data years from 1994-2022. These data are part of a series designed by the Urban Institute (Washington, D.C.) and the Bureau of Justice Statistics. Data and documentation were prepared by the Urban Institute through 2012. Data from 2013 and on were prepared by Abt Associates.

    Description

This Event Duration Monitoring (EDM) dataset relates to the performance of storm overflows in England. Data are provided by Water and Sewerage Companies (WaSCs) to the Environment Agency each year as part of their regulatory Annual Return, to fulfil their permitted conditions to discharge from these storm overflows under the Environmental Permitting Regulations.

Data files are provided by year (2024, 2023, 2022, 2021 & 2020) and include a sheet for each of the 10 WaSCs with storm overflows in England. Each WaSC sheet shows how often and how long each monitored storm overflow discharged during that year. From 2021 onwards the dataset also includes reasons why event duration monitors (EDM) may have provided information for <90% of the relevant return period, and why an overflow may have high spill counts in that period. These data reflect the best available information held by the WaSC at time of submission.

The data file for each year also contains key summary data tables. These include: number of storm overflows with EDM, number of storm overflows returning spill counts, average spill duration and average spill count for each WaSC. A dataset README guide is also provided which provides further information to help use and understand the data.

A sixth data file contains the annual key summary data from respective years plus a table showing long-term trends from 2016-2024.

    How to use CSV files

CSV files can be used either as a spreadsheet (using Microsoft Excel or similar spreadsheet packages) or digitally using software packages and languages (for example, R or Python).

When using as a spreadsheet, there will be no formatting, but the file can still be explored like our publication tables. Due to their size, older software might not be able to open the entire file.

    Description

Abstract (en): This dataset contains records for each public secondary and elementary education agency in the United States and its outlying areas (American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, and the Marshall Islands) for 1985-1986. Reporting agencies serve instructional levels from pre-kindergarten through grade 12, or the equivalent span of instruction in ungraded or special education districts. Regional Educational Service Agencies, supervisory unions, and county superintendents are also represented. Variables include state and federal ID numbers, agency name, address, city, and ZIP code, FIPS county and out-of-state indicators, instructional operating status, agency type, grade span, metropolitan statistical area (MSA) ID and status, and board of control selection code. ICPSR data undergo a confidentiality review and are altered when necessary to limit the risk of disclosure. ICPSR also routinely creates ready-to-go data files along with setups in the major statistical software formats as well as standard codebooks to accompany the data. In addition to these procedures, ICPSR performed the following processing steps for this data collection: Checked for undocumented or out-of-range codes.. All public elementary and secondary education agencies in operation during 1985-1986 in the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and United States territories (American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, and the Marshall Islands). The codebook is provided as a Portable Document Format (PDF) file. The PDF file format was developed by Adobe Systems Incorporated and can be accessed using PDF reader software, such as the Adobe Acrobat Reader. Information on how to obtain a copy of the Acrobat Reader is provided through the ICPSR Website on the Internet.
