The Alabama GIS Inspector for Brownfields map show the location and other information relevant to brownfield site across Alabama.- You can roll your scroll wheel on your mouse away from you, click the + button in the upper-left or hold down your shift key and click and drag a box on the map to zoom.- If you search by address, it will zoom to a scale that you can see the Brownfields.- Once the sites appear, click on the one that interests you. A popup will display information about the site.- The popup will also contain a Link to eFile Documents. The eFile is realtime. eFile shows documents related to the site.- The Basemap Gallery button in the upper-left allows you to switch between several different basemaps like US Topos, streets, and aerial imagery.- You can display your location by clicking on the My Location button just beneath the Home button in the upper-left. There is a button for activating the Measurement Tool. You can use this tool to measure a wide variety of things.- This page is responsive. It will size to the device you are using.

To document the spatial location of fire stations in the State of Alabama for general cartographic purposes on USGS mapping products at 1:24,000 scale.This dataset contains point features representing building locations of fire stations in the State of Alabama. The purpose of this collection is to represent the fire station locations on general purpose cartographic products. The data includes manned fire stations and buildings from which a fire response occurs, such as a volunteer fire department building to which fire fighters report for duty, but which is not continuously manned. The data includes both private and governmental entities. In some cases, where fire stations are known to exist but could not be located on a specific building, such as on a military base, airport or manufacturing location, a point was placed at the entrance or the general center of the facility or complex. Some fire locations are approximate, most prevalently in rural areas. Fire training facilities are not included unless these locations also have an active fire station. Locations solely for storing or maintaining fire equipment, or fire stations without a permanent location, were generally excluded.Metadata

America's private forests provide a vast array of public goods and services, including abundant, clean surface water. Forest loss and development can affect water quality and quantity when forests are removed and impervious surfaces, such as paved roads, spread across the landscape. We rank watersheds across the conterminous United States according to the contributions of private forest land to surface drinking water and by threats to surface water from increased housing density. Private forest land contributions to drinking water are greatest in the East but are also important in Western watersheds. Development pressures on these contributions are concentrated in the Eastern United States but are also found in the North-Central region, parts of the West and Southwest, and the Pacific Northwest; nationwide, more than 55 million acres of rural private forest land are projected to experience a substantial increase in housing density from 2000 to 2030. Planners, communities, and private landowners can use a range of strategies to maintain freshwater ecosystems, including designing housing and roads to minimize impacts on water quality, managing home sites to protect water resources, and using payment schemes and management partnerships to invest in forest stewardship on public and private lands.This data is based on the digital hydrologic unit boundary layer to the Subwatershed (12-digit) 6th level for the continental United States. To focus this analysis on watersheds with private forests, only watersheds with at least 10% forested land and more than 50 acres of private forest were analyzed. All other watersheds were labeled ?Insufficient private forest for this analysis"and coded -99999 in the data table. This dataset updates forest and development statistics reported in the the 2011 Forests to Faucet analysis using 2006 National Land Cover Database for the Conterminous United States, Grid Values=41,42,43,95. and Theobald, Dr. David M. 10 March 2008. bhc2000 and bhc2030 (Housing density for the coterminous US in 2000 and 2030, respectively.) Field Descriptions:HUC_12: Twelve Digit Hydrologic Unit Code: This field provides a unique 12-digit code for each subwatershed.HU_12_DS: Sixth Level Downstream Hydrologic Unit Code: This field was populated with the 12-digit code of the 6th level hydrologic unit that is receiving the majority of the flow from the subwatershed.IMP1: Index of surface drinking water importance (Appendix Map). This field is from the 2011 Forests to Faucet analysis and has not been updated for this analysis.HDCHG_AC: Acres of housing density change on private forest in the subwatershed. HDCHG_PER: Percent of the watershed to experience housing density change on private forest. The Area Hydrography Shapefile contains the geometry and attributes of both perennial and intermittent area hydrography features, including ponds, lakes, oceans, swamps (up to the U.S. nautical three-mile limit), glaciers, and the area covered by large rivers, streams, and/or canals that are represented as double-line drainage. Single-line drainage water features can be found in the Linear Hydrography Shapefile (LINEARWATER.shp). Linear water features includes single-line drainage water features and artificial path features, where they exist, that run through double-line drainage features such as rivers, streams, and/or canals, and serve as a linear representation of these features.

The data included in the GIS Traffic Stations Version database have been collected by the FHWA from the State DOTs. Location referencing information was derived from State offices of Transportation The attributes on the point elements of the database are used by FHWA for its Travel Monitoring and Analysis System and by State DOTs. The attributes for these databases have been intentionally limited to location referencing attributes since the core station description attribute data are contained within the Station Description Tables (SDT). here is a separate Station Description Table (SDT) for each of the station types. The attributes in the Station Description Table correspond with the Station Description Record found in Chapter 6 of the latest Traffic Monitoring Guide. The SDT contains the most recent stations available for each state and station type. This table was derived from files provided UTCTR by FHWA. The Station Description Table can be linked to the station shapefile via the STNNKEY field. Some station where not located in the US, and were beyond available geographic extents causing display problems. These were moved to Lat and Long 0,0. This is in recognition that the locations of these stations where in error, but were moved to a less obtrusive area.Metadata
