Ideally, state and federal agencies should be using the same framework data for common themes such as county boundaries. This layer provides an initial offering as "best available" at 1:24,000 scale for counties.Incorporated cities were merged from the Board of Equalization's 11/16/2021 City and County boundaries dataset. The Cal Fire FRAP County boundaries v 19_1 were maintained for consistency with other use in CA Nature.

Parcels for the City of San Leandro (CSL). Alameda County (ALCO) maintains several attributes: parcel number (APN), site address, lot size, assessor map, all monetary values, and primary and secondary tax rate areas; CSL has no control over those attributes. CSL maintains the geometry and these attributes: zoning, general plan land use, and the common area, condo and stacked flags. CSL also applies FEMA zones and Cal Fire fire hazard zones to parcels. Condos are not drawn realistically; instead, each condo outline is the outline of the entire complex; what looks like a single parcel is actually all condos in a complex stacked one on top of the other.

This shapefile contains tax rate area (TRA) boundaries in Alameda County for the specified assessment roll year. Boundary alignment is based on the 2009 county parcel map. A tax rate area (TRA) is a geographic area within the jurisdiction of a unique combination of cities, schools, and revenue districts that utilize the regular city or county assessment roll, per Government Code 54900. Each TRA is assigned a six-digit numeric identifier, referred to as a TRA number. TRA = tax rate area number
