The Census Bureau (https://www.census.gov/) maintains census tract geographic boundaries for the analysis and mapping of demographic information across the United States. Every 10 years the Census Bureau provides opportunity to local government to review and update statistical areas boundary including census tract geography through Participants Statistical Areas Program (PSAP). Los Angeles County actively participated in PSAP program of 2010 and 2020 census and submit the update of census tract boundaries. There are little more Census Tracts within Los Angeles County in 2020 Census TIGER/Line Shapefiles, compared to 2010. The Census Bureau releases the results of census counts at different census geography including census tracts. This web map is crated to visualize the similarities and differences between Los Angeles County's 2010 and 2020 census tracts.

This map shows the change in total housing units in the United States between the 2000 and 2010 Census. This is shown as a percentage of change over time. A positive number, like 10, represents growth of 10% while a negative number, like -5, represents a decline of 5%.The map shows this pattern for states, counties, tracts, and block groups. There is increasing geographic detail as you zoom in, and only one geography is configured to show at any time. The data source is the US Census Bureau, and the vintage is 2010. This dataset consists of three raster datasets representing population density for the years 1990, 2000, and 2010. All three rasters are based on block-level census geography data. The 1990 and 2000 data are derived from data normalized to 2000 block boundaries, while the 2010 data are based on 2010 block boundaries. This data set provides vegetation species abundance data collected in 1975 from 60 sites on the Arctic Coastal Plain near Atqasuk, Alaska, as well as environmental and species data for 31 of the sites that were revisited in 2000 and 2010. The study sites are located on Arctic tundra near the Meade River, about 60 miles southwest of Barrow. Data includes baseline plot information for vegetation and site factors for the study plots subjectively located in 9 plant communities. Specific attributes include: site characteristics such as altitude, slope, aspect, and topographic position; soil pH and organic layer depth; and dominant plant communities. This product brings together for easy reference all of the available information collected from the plots that has been used for the classification, mapping, and analysis of geo-botanical factors at the Atqasuk research sites and across Alaska.

Population and housing information extracted from decennial census Public Law 94-171 redistricting summary files for Washington state for years 2000 and 2010.

This dataset contains two measures designed to be used in tandem to characterize United States census tracts, originally developed for use in stratified analyses of the Diabetes Location, Environmental Attributes, and Disparities (LEAD) Network. The first measure is a 2010 tract-level community type categorization based on a modification of Rural-Urban Commuting Area (RUCA) Codes that incorporates census-designated urban areas and tract land area, with five categories: higher density urban, lower density urban, suburban/small town, rural, and undesignated (McAlexander, et al., 2022). The second measure is a neighborhood social and economic environment (NSEE) score, a community-type stratified z-score sum of 6 US census-derived variables, with sums scaled between 0 and 100, computed for the year 2000 and 2010. A tract with a higher NSEE z-score sum indicates more socioeconomic disadvantage compared to a tract with a lower z-score sum. Analysts should not compare NSEE scores across LEAD community types, as values have been computed and scaled within community type.
