This dataset was created from the results of a livestock census of 2,128 smallholder farmers within two districts of Nepal (Nuwakot and Dhading). This data was collected in March 2017. This dataset includes the date surveyed, the district, village and ward number of the smallholder, and the number of livestock owned by the smallholder (buffalo, cattle, goat, sheep, yak, pig, equid, rabbit, chickens, and duck). This dataset was collected through the research of the project “Empowerment of Village Women for Detection and Control of Livestock Diseases in Nepal” lead by Colorado State University as part of the Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Livestock Systems.

Census of Agriculture, 1921 to date. Selected livestock and poultry.
The Livestock dataset contains four variables which provide census data for Cattle, Hogs, Horses (horses, donkeys and camels), and Sheep (sheep and goats). These census data are based on 1990 statistics.

China County Data collection contains seven datasets which were compiled in the early 1990s for use as inputs to the DNDC (Denitrification-Decomposition) model at UNH. DNDC is a computer simulation model for predicting carbon (C) and nitrogen (N) biogeochemistry in agricultural ecosystems. The datasets were compiled from multiple Chinese sources and all are at the county scale for 1990. The datasets which comprise this collection are listed below.
1) Agricultural Management 2) Crops 3) N-Deposition 4) Geography and Population 5) Land Use 6) Livestock 7) Soil Properties

Data on animal species were collected during wildlife census using Kilometric Abundance Index (KAI). Thus, geographical coordinates were registered using GPS and all information of the species observation such as habitat, location were also recorded on field sheets by team leaders. A total number of 659 data were recorded for animal census in 2014 in the Biosphere Reserve of W.

This dataset provides livestock data for US Counties within the contiguous US. Census data of cattle, poultry (fowl), hogs, horses and sheep are provided. These data are estimated counts for 1990 based on an average of 1987 and 1992 census data from US Dept. of Agriculture (USDA) Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) and the US Census Bureau.
EOS-WEBSTER provides seven datasets which provide county-level data on agricultural management, crop production, livestock, soil properties, geography and population. These datasets were assembled during the mid-1990's to provide driving variables for an assessment of greenhouse gas production from US agriculture using the DNDC agro-ecosystem model [see, for example, Li et al. (1992), J. Geophys. Res., 97:9759-9776; Li et al. (1996) Global Biogeochem. Cycles, 10:297-306]. The data (except nitrogen fertilizer use) were all derived from publicly available, national databases. Each dataset has a separate DIF.
The US County data has been divided into seven datasets.
US County Data Datasets:
1) Agricultural Management 2) Crop Data (NASS Crop data) 3) Crop Summary (NASS Crop data) 4) Geography and Population 5) Land Use 6) Livestock Populations 7) Soil Properties
Statistics Canada conducts the Census of Agriculture every five years at the same time as the Census of Population. The most recent Census of Agriculture was on May 15, 2006.The Census of Agriculture collects and disseminates a wide range of data on the agriculture industry such as number and type of farms, farm operator characteristics, business operating arrangements, land management practices, crop areas, numbers of livestock and poultry, farm capital, operating expenses and receipts, and farm machinery and equipment. These data provide a comprehensive picture of the agriculture industry across Canada every five years at the national and provincial levels as well as at lower levels of geography. For current Census of Agriculture data refer to Statisics Canada. The Census of Agriculture is the cornerstone of Canada's Agriculture Statistics Program. Census of Agriculture data are an indispensable public and private sector tool for analysing important changes in the agriculture and food industries; developing, implementing and evaluating agricultural policies and programs such as farm income safety nets and environmental sustainability; and making production, marketing and investment decisions. Statistics Canada uses the data as benchmarks for its regular surveys on crops, livestock and farm finances between census years. This release contains all farm and farm operator data. See People and Products Catalogue for future releases of other agricultural data products.
