    Measurement technique
The data presented in this dataset is derived from the latest U.S. Census Bureau American Community Survey (ACS) 2019-2023 5-Year Estimates. To measure the three variables, namely (a) male population, (b) female population and (b) total population, we initially analyzed and categorized the data for each of the age groups. For age groups we divided it into roughly a 5 year bucket for ages between 0 and 85. For over 85, we aggregated data into a single group for all ages. Description
    About this dataset

    Context

The dataset tabulates the data for the Aleutians West Census Area, AK population pyramid, which represents the Aleutians West Census Area population distribution across age and gender, using estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau American Community Survey (ACS) 2019-2023 5-Year Estimates. It lists the male and female population for each age group, along with the total population for those age groups. Higher numbers at the bottom of the table suggest population growth, whereas higher numbers at the top indicate declining birth rates. Furthermore, the dataset can be utilized to understand the youth dependency ratio, old-age dependency ratio, total dependency ratio, and potential support ratio.

    Key observations

    • Youth dependency ratio, which is the number of children aged 0-14 per 100 persons aged 15-64, for Aleutians West Census Area, AK, is 11.5.
    • Old-age dependency ratio, which is the number of persons aged 65 or over per 100 persons aged 15-64, for Aleutians West Census Area, AK, is 7.6.
    • Total dependency ratio for Aleutians West Census Area, AK is 19.1.
    • Potential support ratio, which is the number of youth (working age population) per elderly, for Aleutians West Census Area, AK is 13.2.

    Description
    About this dataset

    Context

The dataset tabulates the Aleutians West Census Area population over the last 20 plus years. It lists the population for each year, along with the year on year change in population, as well as the change in percentage terms for each year. The dataset can be utilized to understand the population change of Aleutians West Census Area across the last two decades. For example, using this dataset, we can identify if the population is declining or increasing. If there is a change, when the population peaked, or if it is still growing and has not reached its peak. We can also compare the trend with the overall trend of United States population over the same period of time.

    Key observations

In 2023, the population of Aleutians West Census Area was 5,160, a 1.38% increase year-by-year from 2022. Previously, in 2022, Aleutians West Census Area population was 5,090, a decline of 1.11% compared to a population of 5,147 in 2021. Over the last 20 plus years, between 2000 and 2023, population of Aleutians West Census Area decreased by 301. In this period, the peak population was 5,825 in the year 2014. The numbers suggest that the population has already reached its peak and is showing a trend of decline. Source: U.S. Census Bureau Population Estimates Program (PEP).

    About this dataset

    Context

The dataset tabulates the data for the Prince of Wales-Hyder Census Area, AK population pyramid, which represents the Prince of Wales-Hyder Census Area population distribution across age and gender, using estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau American Community Survey (ACS) 2019-2023 5-Year Estimates. Description

This statistic shows the total population of Saudi Arabia from 2020 to 2024, with projections up until 2030. In 2024, Saudi Arabia's total population amounted to 35.3 million inhabitants. Population of Saudi Arabia Saudi Arabia, the second largest Arab state, is a nation in development. As a result of the economic stability, gross domestic product (GDP) has grown by about 520 billion U.S. dollars over the past decade. This comes as a result of Saudi Arabia’s positive trade balance and the fact that Saudi Arabia exports about 2.5 times more goods than it imports. Therefore, it is no surprise that Saudi Arabia has constantly had a very high GDP growth in the past decade. In a developing country, there is a tendency for the population to move to more urban cities where the employment rates are higher. The degree of urbanization in Saudi Arabia has grown by around 2 percent from 2002 to 2012. Some of the biggest cities in Saudi Arabia have witnessed the urbanization changes first-hand. The capital of Saudi Arabia and the biggest city, Ar-Riyad, is home to about five million inhabitants. However, the high number of illegal immigrants in Saudi Arabia also accounts for the total population. More awareness to health risks and better living conditions have increased the life expectancy at birth in Saudi Arabia by about 3 years in the last decade. With a rapidly growing total population, it has grown by around 8 million inhabitants over the past decade, the government has set some rules to avoid overcrowding and overpopulation. The fertility rate in Saudi has steadily decreased over the past years in order to attempt to control the rapidly growing population.

To measure the two variables, namely (a) Origin / Ancestry for Hispanic population and (b) respective population as a percentage of the total Hispanic population, we initially analyzed and categorized the data for each of the ancestries across the Hispanic or Latino population. It is ensured that the population estimates used in this dataset pertain exclusively to ancestries for the Hispanic or Latino population.
