    Description

    As GIS and computing technologies advanced rapidly, many indoor space studies began to adopt GIS technology, data models, and analysis methods. However, even with a considerable amount of research on indoor GIS and various indoor systems developed for different applications, there has not been much attention devoted to adopting indoor GIS for the evaluation space usage. Applying indoor GIS for space usage assessment can not only provide a map-based interface for data collection, but also brings spatial analysis and reporting capabilities for this purpose. This study aims to explore best practice of using an indoor GIS platform to assess space usage and design a complete indoor GIS solution to facilitate and streamline the data collection, a management and reporting workflow. The design has a user-friendly interface for data collectors and an automated mechanism to aggregate and visualize the space usage statistics. A case study was carried out at the Purdue University Libraries to assess study space usage. The system is efficient and effective in collecting student counts and activities and generating reports to interested parties in a timely manner. The analysis results of the collected data provide insights into the user preferences in terms of space usage. This study demonstrates the advantages of applying an indoor GIS solution to evaluate space usage as well as providing a framework to design and implement such a system. The system can be easily extended and applied to other buildings for space usage assessment purposes with minimal development efforts.

    This map contains a number of world-wide dynamic image services providing access to various Landsat scenes covering the landmass of the World for visual interpretation. Landsat 8 collects new scenes for each location on Earth every 16 days, assuming limited cloud coverage. Newest and near cloud-free scenes are displayed by default on top. Most scenes collected since 1st January 2015 are included. The service also includes scenes from the Global Land Survey* (circa 2010, 2005, 2000, 1990, 1975).The service contains a range of different predefined renderers for Multispectral, Panchromatic as well as Pansharpened scenes. The layers in the service can be time-enabled so that the applications can restrict the displayed scenes to a specific date range. This ArcGIS Server dynamic service can be used in Web Maps and ArcGIS Desktop, Web and Mobile applications using the REST based image services API. Users can also export images, but the exported area is limited to maximum of 2,000 columns x 2,000 rows per request.Data Source: The imagery in these services is sourced from the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). The data for these services reside on the Landsat Public Datasets hosted on the Amazon Web Service cloud.     Description

    The Department of Water Resources (DWR) provides Technical Support Services (TSS) to assist Groundwater Sustainability Agencies (GSAs) with the implementation of their Groundwater Sustainability Plans (GSPs) and other local entities to better understand groundwater conditions. These services support data collection, groundwater monitoring, and improved understanding of groundwater conditions to help advance sustainable groundwater management efforts across California.

    Through the TSS program, DWR has partnered with GSAs and other entities on projects across the state to drill and construct groundwater monitoring wells, install groundwater level recording and telemetry equipment, perform downhole camera and geophysical surveys, and collect and analyze groundwater for general chemistry. The data and reports generated from these efforts are publicly available to support ongoing groundwater management and planning.

    Summary of Completed TSS Projects

    To date, DWR has completed TSS projects in 35 groundwater subbasins, constructing 234 monitoring wells at 92 sites statewide. Each of these wells have been assigned a State Well Number (SWN), have had a Well Completion Report (WCR) submitted to DWRs Online System for Well Completion Reports (OSWCR), and have been registered either through the California Statewide Groundwater Elevation Monitoring (CASGEM) Online System or the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA) Portal’s Monitoring Network Module (MNM).

    Groundwater level data from these wells are collected by the GSA or DWR and submitted to CASGEM and/or the MNM. These data can be viewed on the Water Data Library (WDL).

    WCRs for these wells can be found using the Well Completion Report Map Application.

    A summary table of completed TSS wells including their associated well name(s), site code(s), SWN(s), and WCR number(s), can be viewed and/or downloaded here: DWR Completed TSS Wells

    The individual TSS well locations, associated borehole lithologic information, and groundwater level data can be viewed on the SGMA Data Viewer by:

    1. Checking the “DWR TSS Wells” box under the “Groundwater Levels” tab on the left side of the screen.

    2. Clicking on any one of the well location symbols that appear on the interactive map.

    3. Clicking on one of the associated Site Code numbers that appear in the results table.

    Completed TSS Projects by Groundwater Subbasin

    Below is a list of subbasins in which TSS projects have been completed. These projects are organized by DWR Region (Northern Region, North Central Region, South Central Region, and Southern Region). Each subbasin listed below has one or more completed TSS project. As more TSS projects are completed, they will be added to this list.

    All completed TSS projects have several associated documents and datasets, including a Well Installation Summary Report, TSS Agreement between DWR and the GSA, CEQA Notice of Exemption (NOE), Land Use or License Agreement, Local Drilling Permit, Composite Lithologic Log, Survey Report, and a Water Quality Analytical Report. Some projects also include downhole geophysical logs. These data and reports can be accessed by clicking on the subbasin below in which the project is located.

    Interagency Wildland Fire Perimeter History (IFPH)OverviewThis national fire history perimeter data layer of conglomerated agency perimeters was developed in support of the WFDSS application and wildfire decision support. The layer encompasses the fire perimeter datasets of the USDA Forest Service, US Department of Interior Bureau of Land Management, Bureau of Indian Affairs, Fish and Wildlife Service, and National Park Service, the Alaska Interagency Fire Center, CalFire, and WFIGS History. Perimeters are included thru the 2023 fire season. Requirements for fire perimeter inclusion, such as minimum acreage requirements, are set by the contributing agencies. WFIGS, NPS and CALFIRE data now include Prescribed Burns. Data InputSeveral data sources were used in the development of this layer, links are provided where possible below. With 2020 being a very important election year, governments across the country are looking to modernize their systems and workflows that support the elections process. It's not going to be easy, with election offices facing many challenges, including demographic shifts, economic pressures, and antiquated technology. It's no surprise that Governing Magazine considered the conducting of fair and equitable voting/elections as one of the biggest policy challenges in 2019.
