    The tutorial can be completed with a sample dataset (provided via a Google Drive link within the document) or with your own time-series data from multiple field sites.

    Part 1 covers how to make interactive graphs in Google Data Studio and Part 2 covers how to link data pages to an interactive map with ArcGIS Online. The tutorial will take 1-2 hours to complete.

    NOTICE TO PROVISIONAL 2023 LAND USE DATA USERS: Please note that on December 6, 2024 the Department of Water Resources (DWR) published the Provisional 2023 Statewide Crop Mapping dataset. The link for the shapefile format of the data mistakenly linked to the wrong dataset. The link was updated with the appropriate data on January 27, 2025. If you downloaded the Provisional 2023 Statewide Crop Mapping dataset in shapefile format between December 6, 2024 and January 27, we encourage you to redownload the data. The Map Service and Geodatabase formats were correct as posted on December 06, 2024.

    The California Department of Water Resources (DWR) has been collecting land use data throughout the state and using it to develop agricultural water use estimates for statewide and regional planning purposes, including water use projections, water use efficiency evaluations, groundwater model developments, climate change mitigation and adaptations, and water transfers. These data are essential for regional analysis and decision making, which has become increasingly important as DWR and other state agencies seek to address resource management issues, regulatory compliances, environmental impacts, ecosystem services, urban and economic development, and other issues. Increased availability of digital satellite imagery, aerial photography, and new analytical tools make remote sensing-based land use surveys possible at a field scale that is comparable to that of DWR’s historical on the ground field surveys. Current technologies allow accurate large-scale crop and land use identifications to be performed at desired time increments and make possible more frequent and comprehensive statewide land use information. Responding to this need, DWR sought expertise and support for identifying crop types and other land uses and quantifying crop acreages statewide using remotely sensed imagery and associated analytical techniques. Currently, Statewide Crop Maps are available for the Water Years 2014, 2016, 2018- 2022 and PROVISIONALLY for 2023.

    This web map features a vector basemap of OpenStreetMap (OSM) data created and hosted by Esri. Esri produced this vector tile basemap in ArcGIS Pro from a live replica of OSM data, hosted by Esri, and rendered using a creative cartographic style emulating a blueprint technical drawing. The vector tiles are updated every few weeks with the latest OSM data. This vector basemap is freely available for any user or developer to build into their web map or web mapping apps.OpenStreetMap (OSM) is an open collaborative project to create a free editable map of the world. Volunteers gather location data using GPS, local knowledge, and other free sources of information and upload it. The U.S. Department of Interior's Bureau of Reclamation and its partners believe the information to be correct representations of potential high-resolution climate/hydrologic variations and changes subject to the limitations of the CMIP3 and CMIP5 global climate simulations, and the downscaling methods and their limitations, as described at the Bias Corrected and Downscaled Climate and Hydrology Projections website (http://gdo-dcp.ucllnl.org/downscaled_cmip_projections/dcpInterface.html). However, human and mechanical errors remain possibilities. Refer to item details of layers (accessed through the Legend) for specific information about each data collection in the app.

    Description

    The Geographic Management Information System (GeoMIS) is a FISMA Moderate minor application built using ArcGIS Server and portal, Microsoft SQL, and a web-facing front-end. The system can be accessed over the internet via https://www.usaidgiswbg.com using a web browser. GeoMIS is based on a commercial off-the-shelf product developed by Esri. Esri is creates geographic information system (GIS) software, web GIS and geodatabase management applications and is based in California. GeoMISIt is maintained by an Israeli company, Systematics (see Attachment 3) which is EsriI's agent in Israel. The mission has an annual maintenance contract with Systematics for GeoMIS. GeoMIS has 100 users from USAID staff (USA Direct Hire and Foreign Service Nationals) and 200 users from USAID contractors and grantees. The system is installed at USAID WBG office in Tel Aviv/Israel inside the computer room in the DMZ. It has no interconnections with any other system.

    USACE personnel compiled multiple shapefiles and databases with historic high water marks (HWM) records from within the Omaha District. This data was combined with the digitized HWM USACE Books 1-14. Not all databases had a geolocation for sites, these are not included in this file geodatabase.USACE Omaha District digitized paper high water marks to ArcGIS format. Dataset consists of high-water marks from USACE Books 1 - 14. Book dates range from 1960 to 1993 and points were entered based off referencing paper maps. Due to the age of the HWM paper records and potential changes in geography – the exact physical location of the HWM may differ from the location documented in the shapefile. Staff made their best effort to locate HWM based on description provided in the paper records. The user should be aware of the low level-of-accuracy that may be associated with some HWM. This data is provided to understand the rough magnitude of past historic flood events and should not be used as the only source of information for calibration purposes. Original USACE is located in book form at the Omaha District Office as well as scanned at "
    wo-netapp2\cenwo-ed-h\floodplain\Mapthis folder as the s drive_Silver_Jackets\Nebraska\Projects\FY20_NE_HighWaterMarks\Data_Collection".The geolocated HWMs were compiled from shapefiles stored on multiple Omaha District servers.
    wo-netapp2\cenwo-ed-h\EDH_PUB\HWM\ contained 2011_TetraTechContract, 2013_CO_HWM, June_2008, and May_2007. The shapefile "hwm_oct00.shp" consists of additional HWM's digitized in 2000 from the USACE Books 1-14.     This web application highlights some of the capabilities for accessing Landsat imagery layers, powered by ArcGIS for Server, accessing Landsat Public Datasets running on the Amazon Web Services Cloud. The layers are updated with new Landsat images on a daily basis.

    Created for you to visualize our planet and understand how the Earth has changed over time, the Esri Landsat Explorer app provides the power of Landsat satellites, which gather data beyond what the eye can see. Use this app to draw on Landsat's different bands to better explore the planet's geology, vegetation, agriculture, and cities. Additionally, access the entire Landsat archive to visualize how the Earth's surface has changed over the last forty years.

    Quick access to the following band combinations and indices is provided:

    The Time tool enables access to a temporal time slider and a temporal profile of different indices for a selected point. The Time tool is only accessible at larger zoom scales. It provides temporal profiles for NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index), NDMI (Normalized Difference Moisture Index) and Urban Index. The Identify tool enables access to information on the images, and can also provide a spectral profile for a selected point. The Stories tool will direct you to pre-selected interesting locations.

    The application is written using Web AppBuilder for ArcGIS accessing imagery layers using ArcGIS API for JavaScript.

    The following Imagery Layers are being accessed :
    • Multispectral Landsat - Provides access to 30m 8-band multispectral imagery and a range of functions that provide different band combinations and indices.
    • Pansharpened Landsat - Provides access to 15m 4-band (Red, Green, Blue and NIR) panchromatic-sharpened imagery.
    • Panchromatic Landsat - Provides access to 15m panchromatic imagery.

    These imagery layers can be accessed through the public group Landsat Community on ArcGIS Online.

    Description

    This web application provides a viewing platform for the California Vegetation Treatment Program (CalVTP) Programmatic Environmental Impact Report (PEIR) web map. The purpose of this viewer is to allow the general public to view treatable areas as designated in the CalVTP PEIR. This web application will persist as long as the life of the CalVTP PEIR. GEOGRAPHIC SCOPE OF THE CalVTP: TREATABLE LANDSCAPE

    Appropriate areas within which to implement vegetation treatments as part of the CalVTP were identified by dividing the State Responsibility Area (SRA) into vegetation types from the California Wildlife Habitat Relationship (CWHR) system. Certain vegetation types were excluded because their wildfire risks are negligible (e.g., wet meadow, estuarine). Agricultural vegetation types were also excluded because this land is generally outside the SRA.

    Using this method, 20.3 million acres within the 31 million-acre SRA were identified that may be appropriate for vegetation treatments as part of the CalVTP. Throughout this PEIR, this area is called “treatable landscape” or "treatable areas".

    It is important to note that the treatable landscape represents areas suitable for CalVTP vegetation treatments, but projects will not necessarily occur in every location within the treatable landscape. The location and geographic extent of projects will be determined based on several factors, including environmental constraints and treatment objectives.

    A Sites and Monuments Record (SMR) was issued for all counties in the State between 1984 and 1992. The SMR is a manual containing a numbered list of certain and possible monuments accompanied by 6-inch Ordnance Survey maps (at a reduced scale). The SMR formed the basis for issuing the Record of Monuments and Places (RMP) - the statutory list of recorded monuments established under Section 12 of the National Monuments (Amendment) Act 1994. The RMP was issued for each county between 1995 and 1998 in a similar format to the existing SMR. The RMP differs from the earlier lists in that, as defined in the Act, only monuments with known locations or places where there are believed to be monuments are included.

    The large Archaeological Survey of Ireland archive and supporting database are managed by the National Monuments Service and the records are continually updated and supplemented as additional monuments are discovered. On the Historic Environment viewer an area around each monument has been shaded, the scale of which varies with the class of monument. This area does not define the extent of the monument, nor does it define a buffer area beyond which ground disturbance should not take place – it merely identifies an area of land within which it is expected that the monument will be located. It is not a constraint area for screening – such must be set by the relevant authority who requires screening for their own purposes. This data has been released for download as Open Data under the DPER Open Data Strategy and is licensed for re-use under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence. http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0

    Please note that the centre point of each record is not indicative of the geographic extent of the monument. The existing point centroids were digitised relative to the OSI 6-inch mapping and the move from this older IG-referenced series to the larger-scale ITM mapping will necessitate revisions. The accuracy of the derived ITM co-ordinates is limited to the OS 6-inch scale and errors may ensue should the user apply the co-ordinates to larger scale maps. Records that do not refer to 'monuments' are designated 'Redundant record' and are retained in the archive as they may relate to features that were once considered to be monuments but which on investigation proved otherwise. Redundant records may also refer to duplicate records or errors in the data structure of the Archaeological Survey of Ireland.

    This dataset is provided for re-use in a number of ways and the technical options are outlined below. For a live and current view of the data, please use the web services or the data extract tool in the Historic Environment Viewer. The National Monuments Service also provide an Open Data snapshot of its national dataset in CSV as a bulk data download. Users should consult the National Monument Service website https://www.archaeology.ie/ for further information and guidance on the National Monument Act(s) and the legal significance of this dataset.

    The Sites and Monuments Record (SMR) is provided as a national download in Comma Separated Value (CSV) format. This format can be easily integrated into a number of software clients for re-use and analysis. The Longitude and Latitude coordinates are also provided to aid its re-use in web mapping systems, however, the ITM easting/northings coordinates should be quoted for official purposes. ERSI Shapefiles of the SMR points and SMRZone polygons are also available The SMRZones represent an area around each monument, the scale of which varies with the class of monument.
