    Description

The FDOT GIS Functional Classification Roadways feature class provides spatial information on the assignment of roads into systems. The two-digit Functional Classification (FUNCLASS) code is used in Federal reports. FUNCLASS is the assignment of roadways into systems according to the character of service they provide in relation to the total roadway network. Florida uses the Federal Functional Classification System, which is common to all states. The original Florida Functional Classification System was eliminated in 1995 by the repeal of Chapter 335.04, F.S. The SHS is determined by mutual agreement and not by functional classification. FUNCLASS determines whether a roadway is STP or FA None, which determines funding categories. FEMA provides emergency funds for roadways that are not on the Federal Highway System. This is required for roadways On or Off the SHS that are NHS or functionally classified. This dataset is maintained by the Transportation Data & Analytics office (TDA). The source spatial data for this hosted feature layer was created on: 06/07/2025.For more details please review the FDOT RCI Handbook Download Data: Enter Guest as Username to download the source shapefile from here: https://ftp.fdot.gov/file/d/FTP/FDOT/co/planning/transtat/gis/shapefiles/funclass.zip

Traffic Control Permits that span one or more street blocks. A permit is expected to have only one GIS feature (line or point), but the data may have some anomalies.A Traffic Control Permit is required if construction work in or outside the public right-of-way will result in any closure of a traffic lane, blocking of a sidewalk or alley. The Street_and_Address_Composite will return a geographic coordinate when a street address is entered. A user can enter an address either manually or by bulk input from a database or other source. The geocoder returns a coordinate pair and standardized address for each input address it is able to match. The NYS ITS Geospatial Services geocoder uses a series of combinations of reference data and configuration parameters to optimize both the likelihood of a match and the quality of the results. The reference data supporting the geocoder is stored in Federal Geographic Data Committee (FGDC) standard. The first composite locator (Street_and_Address_Composite) is made up of the following set of locators which are most likely to return a high quality hit. The locators are listed in the order in which they will be accessed along with a brief description of the locator's source data. The real_time data shows the collection of real-time traffic volumes and observed travel speeds on a selected set of roadways in the state. The real_time data is the most recent two days (maximum) of traffic volumes and traffic speeds collected from the time traffic monitors are activated and shown in the most recent 2-day intervals until the activated monitors are turned off. Therefore a single station on the map will have a number of records tied to it showing the traffic volume and speed changes for that roadway section over a two day interval. Real-time polling is activated for a hurricane or other emergencies in Florida. This dataset is maintained by the Transportation Data & Analytics office (TDA). The Sidewalks and Gaps feature class shows the location of sidewalks on roads that are active on the State Highway System (SHS). Sidewalk locations are indicated by side of road (right, left, or composite (both)). If sidewalks are not present, they are indicated by G in the RDWYSIDE column. In addition, this dataset indicates the type of road access, as well as information related to data inventory dates and when next data update is scheduled. This feature class is derived from event mapping Feature 216, characteristic SIDWLKWD. Description

These address data are updated, typically by request, to City of San Marcos Planning and Development Services on a daily to weekly basis. Updates occur as new parcel plats are recorded, as building footprints change, when new service equipment such as cell towers and meters is installed, to bring existing address points into compliance with CAPCOG 911-Addressing guidelines, and as needed for various other circumstances. The 911 addresses (denoted in the Address911 field as “Y”) follow the CAPCOG (Capital Area Council of Governments) Addressing Guidelines (10-28-09) available here: http://www.capcog.org/divisions/emergency-communications/911-technology/(last accessed March 30, 2017).Non-911 addresses (denoted in the Address911 field as “N”) are maintained for location finding, public infrastructure inventory, and for various other circumstances. Location finding address points includes all intersection, 100 block numbers, and mile markers. There are two types of new addresses, In-fill and Subdivisions. In-fill addressing occurs in already developed areas that experience change. The Planning and Development Services Planning Technician updates and maintains the infill addresses, often in coordination with the City of San Marcos Fire Marshal’s office. Planning and Development Services 911 Address Coordinator creates new subdivision addressing. This feature exists in DevServices.sde.
