This dataset contains information about a number of participants (participants.csv) to a workshop that need to be assigned to a number of rooms (rooms.csv).

Restrictions: 1.- The workshop has 5 different activities 2.- Each participant has indicated their first, second and third preferences for the activities available (Priority1, Priority2 and Priority3 columns in participants.csv) 3.- Participants are part of teams (Team column in participant.csv) and should be assigned together 4.- Each Activity lasts for half a day, and each participant will take part in one activity in the morning and one activity in the afternoon. 5.- Each Room must contain the SAME activity in the morning and in the afternoon.

This article discusses how to make statistical graphics a more prominent element of the undergraduate statistics curricula. The focus is on several different types of assignments that exemplify how to incorporate graphics into a course in a pedagogically meaningful way. These assignments include having students deconstruct and reconstruct plots, copy masterful graphs, create one-minute visual revelations, convert tables into “pictures,” and develop interactive visualizations, for example, with the virtual earth as a plotting canvas. In addition to describing the goals and details of each assignment, we also discuss the broader topic of graphics and key concepts that we think warrant inclusion in the statistics curricula. We advocate that more attention needs to be paid to this fundamental field of statistics at all levels, from introductory undergraduate through graduate level courses. With the rapid rise of tools to visualize data, for example, Google trends, GapMinder, ManyEyes, and Tableau, and the increased use of graphics in the media, understanding the principles of good statistical graphics, and having the ability to create informative visualizations is an ever more important aspect of statistics education. Context and methodology

• This is used for the project in the context of the "Introduction to Research Data Management" course, 2024 winter semester. Originally it was made for a homework assignment in the "Computer Statistics" course, 2023 winter semester.
• The dataset consists of the following: code (and comment) written in the R markdown language that is to be compiled and executed in order to generate the 2 datasets created in the project; .pdf file generated from compiling and executing the aforementioned R code using RStudio; .txt file generated as part of one of the exercises in the assignment, also by compiling and executing the R code.
• The code was written by Vseslav Levchenko in R, using RStudio.

Technical details

• The code was written in RStudio and it is recommended to use it when working with R, however it is not strictly necessary. However, it is required to install the R language itself. For the other files, standard software like Microsoft Excel and any PDF reader are all that is needed.
• The code also contains necessary comments, and a .pdf file with the assignment's tasks is provided separately.

The Freight Analysis Framework (FAF5) - Highway Network Assignments was created from 2017 base year and 30 year forecast data and was published on April 11, 2022 from the Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) and is part of the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT)/Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) National Transportation Atlas Database (NTAD). This data package includes tabular files with results from FAF5 2017, 2022, and 2050 baseline assignments to represent freight flows by three separate truck only flows type (Total Truck, Single Unit, and Combination Unit) and three freight flow markets (domestic, import and export). 2017 and 2022 model years contain 6 data tables and 2050 model year contains 11 data tables, representing the truck only flows. Each data table can be linked to the FAF5 network geography to display truck flows by link.
