    Description

The data from 9,549 complete sets of annual financial statements are combined with the data from the corresponding audit reports, forming an unbalanced panel data set. The client companies included in the sample represent a supermajority of medium and large-sized companies registered in the Republic of Serbia. Information on the name of the auditing firm, the type of auditor, the date of audit, and the type of audit opinion is hand-collected from the audit reports issued by 77 audit firms (the Big 4 plus 73 other auditing firms), which, again, represents a supermajority of all the auditing firms registered in this country. In the total sample of audit opinions (6,343), the following frequencies of the four main types of audit opinions are observed: an adverse opinion (50), a disclaimer of opinion (344), a qualified opinion (1,278), and an unqualified opinion (4,671). Additionally, most common financial indicators are calculated based on the collected financial statements. The National Diabetes Audit (NDA) is the largest annual clinical audit in the world, integrating data from both primary and secondary care sources, making it the most comprehensive audit of its kind. It provides an infrastructure for the collation, analysis, benchmarking and feedback of local clinical data to support effective clinical audit across the NHS. The NDA aims to improve the quality of patient care by enabling NHS organisations to: compare their outcomes of care with similar NHS organisations identify and share best practice identify gaps or shortfalls in commissioning services assess local practice against NSF for diabetes and NICE guidelines and drive service improvement provide a more comprehensive picture of diabetes care and outcomes in England and Wales Through participation in the audit, local services are able to benchmark their performance and identify where they are performing well, and where there is potential to improve the quality of treatment and care they provide. On a national level, wide participation in the audit also provides an overview of the quality of care being provided in England and Wales. The majority of participating paediatric diabetes units do not have a clinical IT system that allows them to submit information directly to the audit. Participation is dependent on staff manually inputting data into a spreadsheet or database. This means that not all paediatric units have been able to submit full care process information for the audit year. Analysis on care offered, control of HbA1c and cholesterol is based on those children and young people for whom information has been submitted to the audit. Low results may be due to absence of data, rather than a reflection of practice. The National Diabetes Audit analysis is published in the annual reports. The NDA aims to improve the quality of patient care by enabling NHS organisations to: compare their outcomes of care with similar NHS organisations. identify and share best practice. identify gaps or shortfalls in commissioning services. assess local practice against NSF for diabetes and NICE guidelines and drive service improvement. provide a more comprehensive picture of diabetes care and outcomes in England and Wales. Through participation in the audit, local services are able to benchmark their performance and identify where they are performing well, and where there is potential to improve the quality of treatment and care they provide. On a national level, wide participation in the audit also provides an overview of the quality of care being provided in England and Wales. The National Diabetes Audit analysis is published in the annual reports. However, easy access is also provided using the NDA Dashboard and secondary care data tables. In additional to the National reports, the NDA has produced PCT/LHB profile reports which present key PCT findings from the 2009-2010 audit onwards in all age groups. The data used to produce the reports is extracted from GP practices in your PCT/LHB and is augmented by secondary care outpatient data and Hospital Episode Statistics on diabetes-related complications. The data is validated, processed and analysed to measure compliance with the National Service Framework (NSF) for Diabetes and NICE quality standards. The analysis contained in the PCT/LHB profile report is benchmarked against the national findings and provides time trend analysis, allowing you to compare care and treatment results to findings. * Please note, the 2010 - 2011 report for Cwm Taf LHB is not available due to insufficient practice participation.
