    Description

The popularity of Deep Learning (DL) methods used in business process management research and practice is constantly increasing. One important factor that hinders the adoption of DL in certain areas is the availability of sufficiently large training datasets, particularly affecting domains where process models are mainly defined manually with a high knowledge-acquisition effort. In this paper, we examine process model augmentation in combination with semi-supervised transfer learning to enlarge existing datasets and train DL models effectively. The use case of similarity learning between manufacturing process models is discussed. Based on a literature study of existing augmentation techniques, a concept is presented with different categories of augmentation from knowledge-light approaches to knowledge-intensive ones, e. g. based on automated planning. Specifically, the impacts of augmentation approaches on the syntactic and semantic correctness of the augmented process models are considered. The concept also proposes a semi-supervised transfer learning approach to integrate augmented and non-augmented process model datasets in a two-phased training procedure. The experimental evaluation investigates augmented process model datasets regarding their quality for model training in the context of similarity learning between manufacturing process models. The results indicate a large potential with a reduction of the prediction error of up to 53%.

    Description

The goal of this work is to generate large statistically representative datasets to train machine learning models for disruption prediction provided by data from few existing discharges. Such a comprehensive training database is important to achieve satisfying and reliable prediction results in artificial neural network classifiers. Here, we aim for a robust augmentation of the training database for multivariate time series data using Student-t process regression. We apply Student-t process regression in a state space formulation via Bayesian filtering to tackle challenges imposed by outliers and noise in the training data set and to reduce the computational complexity. Thus, the method can also be used if the time resolution is high. We use an uncorrelated model for each dimension and impose correlations afterwards via coloring transformations. We demonstrate the efficacy of our approach on plasma diagnostics data of three different disruption classes from the DIII-D tokamak. To evaluate if the distribution of the generated data is similar to the training data, we additionally perform statistical analyses using methods from time series analysis, descriptive statistics, and classic machine learning clustering algorithms.

    Description

The age of Internet of Things (IoT) has witnessed the rapid development of modern data acquisition devices and communicating-actuating networks, which enables the generation of big data streams shared across platforms for remote and efficient decision making of many critical systems. The monitoring of big data streams remains a challenging task in various practical applications mainly due to their complexity in interrelationships, large volume, and high velocity, which places prohibitive demands on monitoring methodologies and resources. To tackle the challenges of monitoring unexchangeable and correlated big data streams with only partial observations available under resource constraints, we propose a method by incorporating spatial rank-based statistics with effective data augmentation techniques for the online unobservable data streams that can analytically inform the monitoring and sampling decisions based only on partially observed data streams. By exploiting historical data, the proposed method preserves strong descriptive power of general big data streams under partial observations and can explicitly use the correlation among data streams, and thus allows effective monitoring and equitable sampling over general heterogeneous and correlated big data streams, which is free of simplified assumptions (e.g., exchangeability) compared to existing methods. Theoretical investigations are carried out to evaluate the effectiveness of the augmentation statistics as well as the sampling strategy, which guarantee the superiority of the sampling performance over existing methods. Simulations under various scenarios and two real case studies are also conducted to evaluate and validate the performance of the proposed method.

    Description

    Purpose :

Intelligent industrial systems are integral parts of the broader Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT) ecosys-
tem in industrial settings. Bringing information from multiple agents enable to bring more advanced and
robust functionalities or services provided by the AIoT. Mobile systems that navigate and gather informa-
tion in these environments can have various perception and motion capabilities. This variability, along with
changes in viewpoints, detection errors, or localization inaccuracies of scene objects, presents multiple chal-
lenges. These challenges underscore the need for versatile datasets, which can facilitate the development of
new techniques to manage variability and appearances resulting from multiple viewpoints and robot swarms
    executing collaborative tasks and functionalities.

This dataset represents a multi-robot scene and is based on a tool designed for robotic data augmentation, whether for single-agent or multi-agent scenarios, using video streams or point clouds to generate augmented datasets.

    Dataset Description :

For this dataset, two robots with different motor capabilities were selected: the "Jaguar-V4-With-Arm" robot and the "Segway" robot. An embedded computer was installed, along with RGB cameras and LiDAR sensors of types Pandar64 and Velodyne VLP16, as well as RealSense RGB-D cameras. The experimental scene is located within a Vicon reference system, serving as ground truth.

This dataset is provided in standardized ROS1 bag file format.

The proposed method relies on the standardized ROS data format and is capable of generating images with the object integrated into the scene, as well as producing semantic images based on captured images (messages of type sensor_msgs/Image).

For LiDAR point clouds, the method generates an augmented point cloud of type sensor_msgs/PointCloud2, containing the original point cloud with added virtual objects. These objects are identifiable by a unique ID in the RGBA channels of the colored point cloud.

In the provided dataset, a model from the Unity example Assets/ExampleAsset/Paint 5G bucket low is added to the scene at the position of Aruco1. Other models in FBX format or directly from the Unity Asset Store can also be incorporated into the scene on request. This augmentation process is based on the positions provided by the /tf and /tf_static topics of the robots, in the form of tf2_msgs/TFMessage ROS messages. During this augmentation phase, the ground truth data of the objects added to the scene is returned in the generated tf topic.

This work is partially funded under the ANR-21-ASRO-0005-01 agreement attached to the SCOPES project (ASTRID ASRO 2021 scheme funded by the Agence de l’Innovation de Défense (AID))
