The National Reporting System for Adult Education, 2016-17 (NRS 2016-17), is part of the Adult Education and Family Literacy program; program data is available since 1997 at . NRS 2016-17 (http://www.nrsweb.org) is a cross-sectional study that is designed to monitor performance accountability for the federally funded, state-administered adult education program. States will be required to submit their progress in adult education and literacy activities by reporting data on core indicators of outcomes on all adult learners who receive 12 or more hours of service as well as state expenditures on the adult education program. States can also report on additional, optional secondary measures that include outcomes related to employment, family, and community. The study will be conducted using a web-based reporting system of states. NRS 2016-17 is a universe survey, and all states are expected to submit data. Key statistics that will be produced from the study include student demographics, receipt of secondary school diploma or general education development (GED) certificate, placement in postsecondary education or training, educational gain, and employment placement and retention.

This dataset is UCDP's most disaggregated dataset, covering individual events of organized violence (phenomena of lethal violence occurring at a given time and place). These events are sufficiently fine-grained to be geo-coded down to the level of individual villages, with temporal durations disaggregated to single, individual days. Global Environmental Database (GED)
    Area covered
    Description

The Center for Global Environmental Research (CGER) at the National Institute for Environmental Studies (NIES) has established a Global Environmental Database (GED), which comprises data and research results collected and compiled from natural and social sciences. The GED serves as a fundamental database related to global environmental problems with an emphasis on global warming and climate change.

The database provides long-term monitoring data, data analysis results and output of models. Quality controlled open data is provided in original format and NASA AMES format. And users are also able to overview the data by utilities plotting parameters. The database mainly contains data for Japan and the Japan region, in two different databases

    1) Atmospheric and Oceanic Monitoring

Fixed and mobile platforms are used to observe the atmosphere and oceans in order to come to an understanding of the true state of the environment from a global perspective. High quality data are collected through long-term monitoring that will contribute to research on clarifying the causes of global environmental change.

    2) Terrestrial Monitoring

After the Kyoto Protocol - the international consensus toward combatting global warming - entered into force in 2005, detailed evaluation of forest ecosystems' potential to absorb carbon dioxide has become an imperative. The Center for Global Environmental Research started Carbon Balance Monitoring in Terrestrial Ecosystems in 1999 under its Global Environmental Monitoring Project. The Office of Terrestrial Monitoring is striving to provide data of carbon balance over a wide area by integrating carbon balance data obtained from site-based forest ecosystem observations and aerial parameters obtained from remote sensing. This database contains CO2 concentration profiles, fluxes, spectral and meteorological datasets etc.

    Mar 1, 2014 - Jun 30, 2017
    Dataset funded by
Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología, Mexico (CONACyT)
    Description

We analyze the effect of different variables on the concentrations of 4-Hydroxybenzoic acid (4-HBA), chlorogenic acid (CGA) and quercetin (QUE) in female and hermaphrodite individuals of Opuntia robusta from San Nicolas Tecoaso, Municipality of Singuilucan, Hidalgo State, Central Mexico, using general linear mixed models (GLMM). To analyze the effect of months and age on 4-HBA concentrations, we used the Gamma error distribution (GED) and the inverse link function. For the effect of months on CGA concentrations, we used GED and log link functions. For the effect of cladode age on CGA concentrations, GED and inverse link functions. For the effect of months on QUE concentration, GED and log link functions. For the effect of cladode age on QUE concentration, GED and inverse link function. For the models that related substances with cladode length, width and thickness, we used different models: for 4-HBA concentrations we used a GED with square root link function. For CGA concentrations, GED and identity link function, and for QUE concentrations, GED and inverse link function. To test the effect of cladodes order from soil on the concentrations of the three substances, we used GED and square root link function. To test the effect of the number of cladodes above a given cladode on the concentrations of the three substances, we used GED and inverse link function. We checked the goodness of fit of the linear models (GLMM) by plotting the standardized residuals against fitted values and by normal QQ‐plots, and revised the assumptions of the homoscedasticity, proper distribution used, and independence. We chose the best GLM model used in this study according to the lowest AIC (Akaike, 1974; Akaike, 1987).

The New York State calculation method consists of all students who first entered 9th grade in a given school year (e.g., the Cohort of 2006 entered 9th grade in the 2006-2007 school. In order to comply with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) regulations on public reporting of education outcomes, rows with fewer than 5 students are suppressed, and replaced with an "s" and for "Transfer School" tab rows with cohorts of 10 or fewer students are suppressed. As of January 1, 2014, the GED test is no longer offered in New York State. The GED has been replaced by the TASC (Test Assessing Secondary Completion) exam which will continue to lead students to a High School Equivalency (HSE) Diploma.

    Description

Self-association of dynamin to form spiral structures around lipidic vesicles during endocytosis is largely mediated by its ‘coiled coil’ GTPase Effector Domain (GED), which, in vitro, self-associates into huge helical assemblies. Residue-level structural characterizations of these assemblies and understanding the process of association have remained a challenge. It is also impossible to get folded monomers in the solution phase. In this context, we have developed here a strategy to probe the self-association of GED by first dissociating the assembly using Dimethyl Sulfoxide (DMSO) and then systematically monitoring the refolding into helix and concomitant re-association using NMR spectroscopy, as DMSO concentration is progressively reduced. The short segment, Arg109 - Met116, acts as the nucleation site for helix formation and self-association. Hydrophobic and complementary charge interactions on the surfaces drive self-association, as the helices elongate in both the directions resulting in an antiparallel stack. A small N-terminal segment remains floppy in the assembly. Following these and other published results on inter-domain interactions, we have proposed a plausible mode of dynamin self assembly.

    Description

As part of the American Community Survey (ACS), the U.S. Census Bureau collects information regarding respondents' educational attainment. Educational attainment refers to the highest level of education that all individuals age 25 and older have completed. Response categories include no schooling completed; nursery school, grades 1 through 11; 12th grade but no diploma; regular high school diploma; GED or alternative credential; some college credit, but less than one year of college; one or more years of college credit, no degree; associate's degree; bachelor's degree; master's degree, professional degree beyond bachelor's degree; and doctorate degree. Data from the 2000 Decennial Census is also summarized.
