The Florida Department of Revenue’s Property Tax Oversight(PTO) program collects parcel level Geographic Information System (GIS) data files every April from all of Florida’s 67 county property appraisers’ offices. This GIS data was exported from these file submissions in August 2024. The GIS parcel polygon features have been joined with thereal property roll (Name – Address – Legal, or NAL)file. No line work was adjusted between county boundaries.The polygon data set represents the information property appraisers gathered from the legal description on deeds, lot layout of recorded plats, declaration of condominium documents, recorded and unrecorded surveys.Individual parcel data is updated continually by each county property appraiser as needed. The GIS linework and related attributions for the statewide parcel map are updated annually by the Department every August. In late 1996, the Dept of Conservation (DOC) surveyed state and federal agencies about the county boundary coverage they used. As a result, DOC adopted the 1:24,000 (24K) scale U.S. Bureau of Reclamation (USBR) dataset (USGS source) for their Farmland Mapping and Monitoring Program (FMMP) but with several modifications. Detailed documentation of these changes is provided by FMMP and included in the lineage section of the metadata.A dataset was made available (approximately 2004) through CALFIRE - FRAP and the California Spatial Information Library (CaSIL), with additional updates throughout subsequent years. More recently, an effort was made to improve the coastal linework by using the previous interior linework from the 24k data, but replacing the coastal linework based on NOAA's ERMA coastal dataset (which used NAIP 2010). In this dataset, all bays (plus bay islands and constructed features) are merged into the mainland, and coastal features (such as islands and constructed features) are not included, with the exception of the Channel Islands which ARE included.This service represents the latest released version, and is updated when new versions are released. As of June, 2019 it represents cnty19_1.

The polygon data set represents the information property appraisers gathered from the legal description on deeds, lot layout of recorded plats, declaration of condominium documents, recorded and unrecorded surveys.The centroids were derived from the parcel polygons. Using ArcPRO, the repair geometry tool was used, followed by the feature to point tool. All centroids were created within the polygon's boundary even if the center of the irregular polygon was outside its boundary. Individual parcel data is updated continually by each county property appraiser as needed. The GIS linework and related attributions for the statewide parcel map are updated annually by the Department every August. Shapefile contains county boundaries for the five counties that are included in the Bay Area Regional Climate Action Planning Initiative Frontline Communities Map.

The original shapefile was downloaded from the California Air Resources Board, Geographical Information System (GIS) Library. The “Select Layer By Attribute” tool in ArcMap was used to select only those five counties that are part of the Bay Area Regional Climate Action Planning Initiative. No display filters were used to visualize the features in the final map. The Frontline Communities Map is meant to help identify communities that are considered frontline communities for the purpose of the USEPA’s Climate Pollution Reduction Grant (CPRG) program’s planning effort, which is a five-county climate action planning process led by the Air District. USEPA refers to these communities as low-income and disadvantaged communities (LIDACs).

The California Association Local Agency Formation Commissions defines a sphere of influence (SOI) as "a planning boundary outside of an agency’s legal boundary (such as the city limit line) that designates the agency’s probable future boundary and service area." This feature set represents the SOIs of the incorporated jurisdictions for the San Francisco Bay Region. The Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) updated the feature set in late 2019 as part of the jurisdiction review process for the BASIS data gathering project. Changes were made to the growth boundaries of the following jurisdictions based on BASIS feedback and associated work: Antioch, Brentwood, Campbell, Daly City, Dublin, Fremont, Hayward, Los Gatos, Monte Sereno, Newark, Oakland, Oakley, Pacifica, Petaluma, Pittsburg, Pleasanton, San Bruno, San Francisco (added to reflect other jurisdictions whose SOI is the same as their jurisdiction boundary), San Jose, San Leandro, Santa Clara, Saratoga, and Sunnyvale. Notes: With the exception of San Mateo and Solano Counties, counties included jurisdiction (city/town) areas as part of their SOI boundary data. San Mateo County and Solano County only provided polygons representing the SOI areas outside the jurisdiction areas. To create a consistent, regional feature set, the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) added the jurisdiction areas to the original, SOI-only features and dissolved the features by name.Because of differences in base data used by the counties and the MTC, edits were made to the San Mateo County and Solano County SOI features that should have been adjacent to their jurisdiction boundary so the dissolve function would create a minimum number of features. A Geographic Information System (GIS) shapefile and summary tables of irrigated agricultural land-use are provided for the 15 counties fully within the Northwest Florida Water Management District (Bay, Calhoun, Escambia, Franklin, Gadsden, Gulf, Holmes, Jackson, Leon, Liberty, Okaloosa, Santa Rosa, Wakulla, Walton, and Washington counties). These files were compiled through a cooperative project between the U.S. Geological Survey and the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Office of Agricultural Water Policy. Information provided in the shapefile includes the location of irrigated lands that were verified during field surveying that started in May 2021 and concluded in August 2021. Field data collected were crop type, irrigation system type, and primary water source used. A map image of the shapefile is also provided. Previously published estimates of irrigation acreage for years since 1982 are included in summary tables.

This layer was created using a combination of erodibility and permeability information sourced from the U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) Web Soil Survey, floodplain data sourced from the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation's (DCR) Flood Risk Information System (VFRIS), tidal flow paths as described by the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) in the Virginia Water Quality Standards dataset, and wetlands data sourced from the National Wetlands Inventory (NWI).

These data are benthic study GIS shapefiles (.shp, .shx, .prj) with associated .dbf attribute tables and specific Federal Geographic Data Committee metadata. A generalized browse graphic was generated at the NODC and included with these data. The data were developed to support ecosystem based management in the Humboldt Bay region. The focus of the mapping was on shallow water benthic habitats with particular concern for eelgrass meadows. The study area covers Arcata (North) Bay, Entrance Bay, South Bay and the Eel River Delta, Humboldt County, California.

This data release includes the data used to generate sewershed "bubble plots" that compared pollutant removal efficiency (PRE) in each sewershed in the two study watersheds Crystal Rock (traditional watershed) and Tributary (Trib.) 104 low impact development (LID watershed) to determine if LID BMP design offered an improved water quality benefit as compared on a sewershed basis. Excess nitrogen, phosphorus, and sediment affect local streams in the Bay watershed by causing problems ranging from eutrophication and toxic algal blooms to reduced oxygen levels and loss of biodiversity. Traditional management of urban stormwater has primarily focused on directing runoff away from developed areas as quickly as possible. More recently, stormwater best management practices (BMPs) have been implemented in a low impact development (LID) manner on the landscape to treat stormwater runoff closer to its source.The objective of this research was to use a modeling approach to compare total watershed pollutant removal efficiency (TWPRE) of two watersheds with differing spatial patterns of SW BMP design (traditional and LID), and determine if LID SW BMP design offered an improved water quality benefit.

The Bay County Box Turtle Project is a citizen science initiative aimed at the conservation of box turtles and their habitats in neighborhoods of Bay County, Florida. Box turtles, like all residents in Bay County, are adapting to the dramatic changes caused by Hurricane Michael. Box turtles seek shelter in the shaded, brushy cover of wood piles, thick vegetation, and shrubbery- habitat features that have been affected by the storm and its aftermath. We believe that a thriving box turtle population indicates that ample green spaces exist throughout a neighborhood to provide food and shelter, and pathways for turtles and other wildlife. As we clean-up, rebuild, and replant our neighborhoods, we intend to monitor the status of box turtles as a biological indicator of the recovery of the natural elements that make Bay County neighborhoods a unique and special place for all.Our Geographic Focus- We are currently tagging turtles and requesting your sighting reports in: The Cove (Panama City), College Point (Lynn Haven), and Lower Grand Lagoon (Panama City Beach).
