    Description

The Counties of British Columbia contains areas of land within the Province of British Columbia representing legally defined administrative areas described in the County Boundary Act. The purpose of this division is for the administration of justice. The counties were delineated using provincial base mapping features, following the metes and bounds descriptions in the Letters Patent. A polygon dataset that includes all of the administrative areas currently in the Administrative Boundaries Management System (ABMS) is available here. A complimentary point dataset that defines the administrative areas is also available here. The Legal document which divides the province of British Columbia into counties is available here. Other individual datasets are available from the following records: https://catalogue.data.gov.bc.ca/dataset/province-of-british-columbia-legally-defined-administrative-areas-of-bc https://catalogue.data.gov.bc.ca/dataset/municipalities-legally-defined-administrative-areas-of-bc https://catalogue.data.gov.bc.ca/dataset/regional-districts-legally-defined-administrative-areas-of-bc https://catalogue.data.gov.bc.ca/dataset/electoral-areas-legally-defined-administrative-areas-of-bc https://catalogue.data.gov.bc.ca/dataset/islands-trust-legally-defined-administrative-areas-of-bc https://catalogue.data.gov.bc.ca/dataset/local-trust-areas-legally-defined-administrative-areas-of-bc https://catalogue.data.gov.bc.ca/dataset/sh-sh-lh-nation-legally-defined-administrative-areas-of-bc

    Description

The data release for the geologic and structure maps of the Kalispell 1 x 2 degrees quadrangle, Montana, and Alberta and British Columbia, is a Geologic Map Schema (GeMS)-compliant version that updates the GIS files for the geologic map published in U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Miscellaneous Investigations Series Map I-2267 (Harrison and others, 2000). The updated digital data present the attribute tables and geospatial features (lines and polygons) in the format that meets GeMS requirements. This data release presents the geologic map as shown on the plates and captured in geospatial data for the published map. Minor errors, such as mistakes in line decoration or differences between the digital data and the map image, are corrected in this version. The database represents the geology for the 16,436 square kilometer, geologically complex Kalispell 1 x 2 degrees Quadrangle, at a publication scale of 1:250,000. The map covers primarily Flathead and Lincoln Counties, but also includes minor parts of Glacier, Lake, and Sanders Counties. These GIS data supersede those in the interpretive report: Harrison, J.E., Cressman, E.R., Whipple, J.W., Kayser, H.Z., Derkey, P.D., and EROS Data Center, 2000, Geologic and structure maps of the Kalispell 1:250,000 quadrangle, Montana, and Alberta and British Columbia: a digital database: U.S. Geological Survey Miscellaneous Investigations Series Map I-2267, version 1.0, 23 p., scale 1:250,000, https://pubs.usgs.gov/imap/i2267/.

    Description

Baltimore County's Urban Rural Demarcation Line (URDL) has divided the county into "urban" and "rural" areas since established by the Planning Board in 1967. Developed primarily as a growth management tool, it has influenced zoning, land-use, and infrustructure decisions, and was the baseline for the Baltimore County part of Maryland's Priority Funding Area. However, this boundary (digitized at a scale of 1:24,000 where 1" represents 2,000') was became obsolete as the county's GIS data increased in resolution (to 1:2,400 where 1" represents 200'). Until recently, determining a property's status as either urban or rural was of a highly interpretative nature. A new URDL was developed to more accurately match the 1:2,400 data (parcel, street centerline, zoning, etc). This version was reviewed and modified in a series of meetings with several interested county agencies. The new URDL removes much of the old one's ambiguity while keeping its original intent. The new URDL was reviewed, modified, and subsequently approved by the Planning Board on June 19, 2003. Minor revisions were effected 9/2/04, 10/21/04, 9/4/07, 5/21/09, 10/1/09 and 11/15/12. The URDL_poly feature class is one part of the URDL feature dataset.

1:24,000-scale, full-color geologic map of the Striped Hills 7.5' quadrangle, Nye County, Nevada, with 2 cross sections and description of 40 units. Detailed geologic mapping by K.A. Sargent, Edward J. McKay, and B.C. Burchfiel in 1970. The GIS work was in support of the U.S. Geological Survey COGEOMAP program. The Geodatabase specifies feature datasets and feature classes, together with feature attributes, subtypes and domains, suitable for a variety of geologic maps. In addition to basic geology (lithology, contacts and faults, etc.), the maps may include metamorphic overprints, cross sections, and explanatory legend-graphics such as correlation charts, used to supplement columnar legends. Previous work includes the Geologic map of the Skull Mountain quadrangle (Poole, Elston, and Carr, 1965); and the Geologic map of the Skull Mountain quadrangle (Ekren and Sargent, 1965).

This feature class represents the petitioned sewer master plan areas that have been introduced in previous years through cycle amendments within Baltimore County. Unlike the SHisMasterPlan feature class, this feature class does not distinguish between different cycle amendment petitions and only reflects the most current sewer master plan designation. The sewer master plan geodatabase includes a feature data set (sewerMasterPlan) containing three feature classes: SCurMasterPlan, sewerCombined and SHisMasterPlan. The feature classes participate in a topology (tsewerMasterPlan). The SCurMasterPlan feature class represents the petitions for the current cycle. The sewerCombined represents the current master plan designation within the county. The SHisMasterPlan contains all of the petitions areas from all cycles. The geodatabase includes relationship classes that associate related table containing information on assessments, councilmanic districts, election districts, lineage (feature level metadata), plan map, recommendations and zoning designations.

The LOMA feature class contains features for each address for which a LOMA has been issued by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). A LOMA can affect flood zone determination without a map change. The feature class was created by interpreting the information contained on each LOMA and mapping the location(s) for each of the addresses cited in the document. A PDF of the LOMA document was associated to the feature as an attachment. For addresses having more than one LOMA, only a single feature was created and additional attachments were associated to the feature. This feature class contains “historical” LOMA location/documents not revalidated by FEMA.

    Description

This database consists of a series of maps showing the estimated inundation of Hawaii shorelines caused by hypothetical category 1, 2, 3, and 4 storm surges. Individual maps show inundation across mile-long sections of Hawaii state routes on the islands of Hawaii, Maui, Molokai, Oahu and Kauai previously identified for their vulnerability to the effects of climate change as part of the Statewide Coastal Highways Project Report.

Mileposts are identified by Brandes et al. (2019). State of Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) state routes and Oahu street centerline datasets are acquired from HDOT (2017) and HOLIS, C&CH (2017). Storm surge maximum of maximum (MOM) inundation extents are determined by the NOAA National Hurricane Center Storm Surge Unit using the Sea, Lake and Overland Surges from Hurricanes (SLOSH) model and are reported in Zachry et al. (2015).

Please read ‘Description-Map of Storm Surge Inundation.docx’ for detailed information.

    Description

This feature class represents the petitioned sewer master plan areas that have been introduced in previous years through cycle amendments within Baltimore County. All information was gathered from petition and approval documentation, with the property boundaries given on source maps used to compile geographic features from existing digital cadastral data. These features contain spatial data representing the boundaries of petitioned and effective master plans areas, as well as information about the effective date, cycle amendment numbers, associated properties, zoning designations, councilmanic and election districts, feature lineage, location within the BCMD and Urban Rural Demarcation Line (URDL), and links to digital source documentation.

    Description

CEDS_GBD-MAPS: Global Anthropogenic Emission Inventory of NOx, SO2, CO, NH3, NMVOCs, BC, and OC from 1970-2017

    version tag: 2020_v1.0 (April 2020)

Annual anthropogenic emissions of 7 key atmospheric pollutants from 1970 - 2017, produced using the Community Emissions Data System, updated for the Global Burden of Disease - Major Air Pollution Sources project (CEDS_GBD-MAPS).

Emissions are provided for NOx, SO2, CO, NH3, NMVOCs, Black Carbon (BC), and Organic Carbon (OC) from 11 anthropogenic sectors and four fuel categories as both annual country totals and global gridded emission fluxes (0.5 x 0.5 degree resolution).
Note: The CEDS_GBD-MAPS inventory does not include emissions from open fires or aircraft.
    Sectors:
    1. Agriculture (non-combustion sources only, excludes open fires)
    2. Energy (transformation and extraction)
    3. Industry (combustion and non-combustion processes)
    4. On-Road Transportation
    5. Off-Road/Non-Road Transportation (rail, domestic navigation, other)
    6. Residential Combustion
    7. Commercial Combustion
    8. Other Combustion
    9. Solvents
    10. Waste (disposal and handling)
    11. International Shipping
    Fuel Categories:
    1. Total Coal Combustion (hard coal + brown coal + coal coke)
    2. Solid Biofuel Combustion
    3. Liquid Fuel (light oil + heavy oil + diesel oil) plus Natural Gas Combustion
    4. CEDS Process Source Categories (see McDuffie, et al., (ESSD) 2020) for further details.
Note: Total anthropogenic emissions = the sum of fuel categories 1-4

    Zip File Details:
The CEDS_GBD-MAPS inventory is available in three different formats:

    1. CEDS_GBD-MAPS_annual_country_total_emissions_by_sector_fuel_1970-2017.zip

    • Zip file contains 7 .csv files that each contain a complete times series (1970-2017) of total annual anthropogenic emissions of each compound from each country, as a function of 11 anthropogenic sectors and 4 fuel categories.
    • Emissions are in units of kt yr-1 and include NOx (as NO2), CO, SO2, NH3, total NMVOCs, BC, and OC

    2. CEDS_GBD-MAPS_gridded_emissions_by_sector_fuel_[year].zip

    • Each .zip file contains 145 netCDF files of annual anthropogenic global gridded emission fluxes, reported as a function of 11 anthropogenic sectors and 5 fuel categories (1 file per compound per fuel category, plus 1 file for the sum of all fuel categories)
    • Emission fluxes are in units of kg m-2 s-1 and include NOx (as NO), CO, SO2, NH3, 25 speciated VOCs, BC, and OC
    • Emission fluxes are provided as monthly averages and have been formatted for use in the GEOS-Chem model (http://acmg.seas.harvard.edu/geos/).
    • Example: ALD2-em-liquid-fuel-plus-natural-gas_CEDS_1970.nc inside the CEDS_GBD-MAPS_gridded_emissions_by_sector_fuel_1970.zip file provides monthly emission fluxes in 1970 for the subVOC ALD2 that result from the combustion of liquid fuel and natural gas in each of the 11 source sectors.

    3. CEDS_GBD-MAPS_[compound]_gridded_total_anthro_emissions_by_sector_input4CMIP_1970-2017.zip

    • compound = [BC_OC], [CO_NOx_SO2_NH3], [speciated_NMVOCs_01-04], [speciated_NMVOCs_05-08], [speciated_NMVOCs_09-14], [speciated_NMVOCs_15-18], [speciated_NMVOCs_19-22], or [speciated_NMVOCs_23-25]
    • Each .zip file contains between 2 - 4 netCDF files (1 per compound) of anthropogenic global gridded emission fluxes from 1970-2017, as a function of 11 anthropogenic sectors only (no disaggregation of fuel categories)
    • netCDF files follow the CEDS CMIP6 gridded emissions format. More information available at:
      http://www.globalchange.umd.edu/ceds/ceds-cmip6-data/
    • Emission fluxes are in units of kg m-2 s-1 and include NOx (as NO2), CO, SO2, NH3, 25 speciated VOCs, BC, and OC
    • Emission fluxes are provides as monthly averages
    • Note: Zip files are group by compound only as a means to reduce the zipped file sizes. The file format for each compound is the same.

*Additional data details are provided in the README.txt file*
