This layer includes both main addresses (i.e. situs addresses) as well as sub-addresses (i.e. individual commercial or residential units which are sub-ordinate to a main parcel/site/building address). Beaufort County is the official addressing authority for City of Beaufort addresses. The City of Beaufort obtains updated address data from Beaufort County on a regular basis (usually monthly) and uses that data to update this layer. This layer contains a subset of the County's address data (i.e. the City of Beaufort only keeps addresses which are located within its municipal boundary in this layer). Additionally, this layer also contains additional data which is not obtained from Beaufort County which the City of Beaufort uses for its own internal purposes. The City of Beaufort's GIS department is responsible for maintaining this layer and ensuring it stays updated on a regular basis.

U.S. Counties represents the counties of the United States in the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico.
These data provide an accurate high-resolution shoreline compiled from imagery of Beaufort River, Broad River to Ladys Island, SC . This vector shoreline data is based on an office interpretation of imagery that may be suitable as a geographic information system (GIS) data layer. This metadata describes information for both the line and point shapefiles. The NGS attribution scheme 'Coastal Cartographic Object Attribute Source Table (C-COAST)' was developed to conform the attribution of various sources of shoreline data into one attribution catalog. C-COAST is not a recognized standard, but was influenced by the International Hydrographic Organization's S-57 Object-Attribute standard so the data would be more accurately translated into S-57. This layer depicts the street centerlines as line features. Attributes include the street name, high and low address numbers, left and right municipalities, etc. This data has been sourced by the County of Beaufort's GIS department with edits made by the City's GIS Division. Data is checked and updated periodically as needed. This data was last checked for accuracy and updated on January 22, 2024. A layer that depicts the trail starting in an old rail station near Depot Road and carries you over creeks, through expansive wetlands, and amid stately neighborhoods shaded by live oaks thick with the iconic Spanish moss. Data obtained from Beaufort County.Data last updated March 15, 2024
This data set represents the extent, approximate location and type of wetlands and deepwater habitats in the United States and its Territories. These data delineate the areal extent of wetlands and surface waters as defined by Cowardin et al. (1979). The National Wetlands Inventory - Version 2, Surface Waters and Wetlands Inventory was derived by retaining the wetland and deepwater polygons that compose the NWI digital wetlands spatial data layer and reintroducing any linear wetland or surface water features that were orphaned from the original NWI hard copy maps by converting them to narrow polygonal features. Additionally, the data are supplemented with hydrography data, buffered to become polygonal features, as a secondary source for any single-line stream features not mapped by the NWI and to complete segmented connections. Wetland mapping conducted in WA, OR, CA, NV and ID after 2012 and most other projects mapped after 2015 were mapped to include all surface water features and are not derived data. The linear hydrography dataset used to derive Version 2 was the U.S. Geological Survey's National Hydrography Dataset (NHD). Specific information on the NHD version used to derive Version 2 and where Version 2 was mapped can be found in the 'comments' field of the Wetlands_Project_Metadata feature class. Certain wetland habitats are excluded from the National mapping program because of the limitations of aerial imagery as the primary data source used to detect wetlands. These habitats include seagrasses or submerged aquatic vegetation that are found in the intertidal and subtidal zones of estuaries and near shore coastal waters. Some deepwater reef communities (coral or tuberficid worm reefs) have also been excluded from the inventory. These habitats, because of their depth, go undetected by aerial imagery. By policy, the Service also excludes certain types of "farmed wetlands" as may be defined by the Food Security Act or that do not coincide with the Cowardin et al. definition. Contact the Service's Regional Wetland Coordinator for additional information on what types of farmed wetlands are included on wetland maps. This dataset should be used in conjunction with the Wetlands_Project_Metadata layer, which contains project specific wetlands mapping procedures and information on dates, scales and emulsion of imagery used to map the wetlands within specific project boundaries. The present goal of the Service is to provide the citizens of the United States and its Trust Territories with current geospatially referenced information on the status, extent, characteristics and functions of wetlands, riparian, deepwater and related aquatic habitats in priority areas to promote the understanding and conservation of these resources. Please note that National Wetlands Inventory data is continuously being improved and new data is added on a biannual basis. Those updates are reflected on the Wetlands Mapper and in the data downloads in October and May of each year. To ensure that you have the most up to date information, please refer to the published date in the metadata.
