Instagram in Belgium Instagram, launched in 2010, is a popular social media app that focuses on photo and video sharing, which continues to grow in popularity around the globe. There were approximately 5.4 million Instagram users in Belgium in January 2025, which is 45 percent of the country’s total population. Furthermore, Belgian women were more likely to use Instagram than their male counterparts, accounting for 55.1 percent of users. As for age and gender, the majority of users of the social media app were women in the 25 to 34 years age group, followed by women aged between 18 and 24 years.
