    It is widely agreed that reference-based super-resolution (RefSR) achieves superior results by referring to similar high quality images, compared to single image super-resolution (SISR). Intuitively, the more references, the better performance. However, previous RefSR methods have all focused on single-reference image training, while multiple reference images are often available in testing or practical applications. The root cause of such training-testing mismatch is the absence of publicly available multi-reference SR training datasets, which greatly hinders research efforts on multi-reference super-resolution. To this end, we construct a large-scale, multi-reference super-resolution dataset, named LMR. It contains 112,142 groups of 300x300 training images, which is 10x of the existing largest RefSR dataset. The image size is also much larger. More importantly, each group is equipped with 5 reference images with different similarity levels. Furthermore, we propose a new baseline metho

    Description

    EuroCrops is a dataset collection combining all publicly available self-declared crop reporting datasets from countries of the European Union.

    The raw data obtained from the countries does not come in a unified, machine-readable taxonomy. We, therefore, developed a new Hierarchical Crop and Agriculture Taxonomy (HCAT) that harmonises all declared crops across the European Union. In the shapefiles you'll find these as additional attributes:

    Hamonisation with HCAT
    Attribute NameExplanation
    EC_trans_nThe original crop name translated into English
    EC_hcat_nThe machine-readable HCAT name of the crop
    EC_hcat_cThe 10-digit HCAT code indicating the hierarchy of the crop

    Participating countries

    Find detailed information for all countries of the European Union in our GitHub Wiki, especially the countries represented in EuroCrops:

    Please also reference the countries' dependent source in case you're using their data.

    Description

    New data-gathering techniques, often referred to as “Big Data” have the potential to improve statistics and empirical research in economics. In this paper we describe our work with online data at the Billion Prices Project at MIT and discuss key lessons for both inflation measurement and some fundamental research questions in macro and international economics. In particular, we show how online prices can be used to construct daily price indexes in multiple countries and to avoid measurement biases that distort evidence of price stickiness and international relative prices. We emphasize how Big Data technologies are providing macro and international economists with opportunities to stop treating the data as “given” and to get directly involved with data collection.

    Description

    In innovation strategy, a type of Schumpeterian competitive strategy in business administration, "intra-individual diversity" has attracted attention as one factor for creating innovation. In this study, we redefine "framework for identifying researchers' areas of expertise" as "a framework for quantifying intra-individual diversity among researchers. Note that diversity here refers to authorship of articles in multiple research fields. The application of this framework then made it possible to visualize organizational diversity by accumulating the intra-individual diversity of researchers and to discuss the innovation strategy of the organization. The analysis in this study discusses how countries are promoting research on the topics of artificial intelligence (AI), big data, and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies, which are at the core of Industry 4.0, from an innovation perspective. Note that Industry 4.0 is a technological framework that aims to “improve the efficiency of all social systems,” “create new industries,” and “increase intellectual productivity.” For the analysis, we used 19-year bibliographic data (2000–2018) from the top 20 countries in terms of the number of papers in AI, big data, and IoT technologies. As the results, this study classified the styles of cross-disciplinary fusion into four patterns in AI and three patterns in big data. This study did not consider the results in IoT because of only small differences between countries. Furthermore, regional differences in the style of cross-disciplinary fusion were also observed, and the global innovation patterns in Industry 4.0 were classified into seven categories. In Europe and North America, the cross-disciplinary integration style was similar to that between the United States, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, England, Italy, Canada, and France. In Asia, the cross-disciplinary fusion style was similar between China, Japan, and South Korea. Methods We used the bibliographic data of Web of Science (WoS) core collection, one of the biggest bibliographic databases from 2000 to 2018. The analysis of the visualization organizational diversity used data from 2018; studies on AI, big data, and IoT have been continuously increasing, reaching 3,133, 5,155, and 4,662 related papers in 2018, respectively. The 23 Essential Science Indicators Subject Areas in the Web of Science Core Collection were used for the article specialties. This data was generated from the "Web of Science Categories” using a conversion table (Thomson Reuters Community, 2012).

    Description

    Large go-around, also referred to as missed approach, data set. The data set is in support of the paper presented at the OpenSky Symposium on November the 10th.

    If you use this data for a scientific publication, please consider citing our paper.

    The data set contains landings from 176 (mostly) large airports from 44 different countries. The landings are labelled as performing a go-around (GA) or not. In total, the data set contains almost 9 million landings with more than 33000 GAs. The data was collected from OpenSky Network's historical data base for the year 2019. The published data set contains multiple files:

    go_arounds_minimal.csv.gz

    Compressed CSV containing the minimal data set. It contains a row for each landing and a minimal amount of information about the landing, and if it was a GA. The data is structured in the following way:

        Column name
        Type
        Description

        time
        date time
        UTC time of landing or first GA attempt

        icao24
        string
        Unique 24-bit (hexadecimal number) ICAO identifier of the aircraft concerned

        callsign
        string
        Aircraft identifier in air-ground communications

        airport
        string
        ICAO airport code where the aircraft is landing

        runway
        string
        Runway designator on which the aircraft landed

        has_ga
        string
        "True" if at least one GA was performed, otherwise "False"

    Downloading the trajectories

    Users of this data set with access to OpenSky Network's Impala shell can download the historical trajectories from the historical data base with a few lines of Python code. For example, you want to get all the go-arounds of the 4th of January 2019 at London City Airport (EGLC). You can use the Traffic library for easy access to the database:

    import datetime from tqdm.auto import tqdm import pandas as pd from traffic.data import opensky from traffic.core import Traffic

    load minimum data set

    df = pd.read_csv("go_arounds_minimal.csv.gz", low_memory=False) df["time"] = pd.to_datetime(df["time"])

    select London City Airport, go-arounds, and 2019-01-04

    airport = "EGLC" start = datetime.datetime(year=2019, month=1, day=4).replace( tzinfo=datetime.timezone.utc ) stop = datetime.datetime(year=2019, month=1, day=5).replace( tzinfo=datetime.timezone.utc )

    df_selection = df.query("airport==@airport & has_ga & (@start <= time <= @stop)")

    iterate over flights and pull the data from OpenSky Network

    flights = [] delta_time = pd.Timedelta(minutes=10) for _, row in tqdm(df_selection.iterrows(), total=df_selection.shape[0]): # take at most 10 minutes before and 10 minutes after the landing or go-around start_time = row["time"] - delta_time stop_time = row["time"] + delta_time

    # fetch the data from OpenSky Network
    flights.append(
      opensky.history(
        start=start_time.strftime("%Y-%m-%d %H:%M:%S"),
        stop=stop_time.strftime("%Y-%m-%d %H:%M:%S"),
        callsign=row["callsign"],
        return_flight=True,
      )
    )

    The flights can be converted into a Traffic object

    Traffic.from_flights(flights)

    Additional files

    Additional files are available to check the quality of the classification into GA/not GA and the selection of the landing runway. These are:

    validation_table.xlsx: This Excel sheet was manually completed during the review of the samples for each runway in the data set. It provides an estimate of the false positive and false negative rate of the go-around classification. It also provides an estimate of the runway misclassification rate when the airport has two or more parallel runways. The columns with the headers highlighted in red were filled in manually, the rest is generated automatically.

    validation_sample.zip: For each runway, 8 batches of 500 randomly selected trajectories (or as many as available, if fewer than 4000) classified as not having a GA and up to 8 batches of 10 random landings, classified as GA, are plotted. This allows the interested user to visually inspect a random sample of the landings and go-arounds easily.

    Description

    To explore the application effect of the deep learning (DL) network model in the Internet of Things (IoT) database query and optimization. This study first analyzes the architecture of IoT database queries, then explores the DL network model, and finally optimizes the DL network model through optimization strategies. The advantages of the optimized model in this study are verified through experiments. Experimental results show that the optimized model has higher efficiency than other models in the model training and parameter optimization stages. Especially when the data volume is 2000, the model training time and parameter optimization time of the optimized model are remarkably lower than that of the traditional model. In terms of resource consumption, the Central Processing Unit and Graphics Processing Unit usage and memory usage of all models have increased as the data volume rises. However, the optimized model exhibits better performance on energy consumption. In throughput analysis, the optimized model can maintain high transaction numbers and data volumes per second when handling large data requests, especially at 4000 data volumes, and its peak time processing capacity exceeds that of other models. Regarding latency, although the latency of all models increases with data volume, the optimized model performs better in database query response time and data processing latency. The results of this study not only reveal the optimized model’s superior performance in processing IoT database queries and their optimization but also provide a valuable reference for IoT data processing and DL model optimization. These findings help to promote the application of DL technology in the IoT field, especially in the need to deal with large-scale data and require efficient processing scenarios, and offer a vital reference for the research and practice in related fields.

    This study engaged 409 participants over a period spanning from July 10 to August 8, 2023, ensuring representation across various demographic factors: 221 females, 186 males, 2 non-binary, year of birth between 1951 and 2005, with varied annual incomes and from 15 Spanish regions. The MobileWell400+ dataset, openly accessible, encompasses a wide array of data collected via the participants' mobile phone, including demographic, emotional, social, behavioral, and well-being data. Methodologically, the project presents a promising avenue for uncovering new social, behavioral, and emotional indicators, supplementing existing literature. Notably, artificial intelligence is considered to be instrumental in analysing these data, discerning patterns, and forecasting trends, thereby advancing our comprehension of individual and population well-being. Ethical standards were upheld, with participants providing informed consent.

    The following is a non-exhaustive list of collected data:

    Data continuously collected through the participants' smartphone sensors: physical activity (resting, walking, driving, cycling, etc.), name of detected WiFi networks, connectivity type (WiFi, mobile, none), ambient light, ambient noise, and status of the device screen (on, off, locked, unlocked).

    Data corresponding to an initial survey prompted via the smartphone, with information related to demographic data, effects and COVID vaccination, average hours of physical activity, and answers to a series of questions to measure mental health, many of them taken from internationally recognised psychological and well-being scales (PANAS, PHQ, GAD, BRS and AAQ), social isolation (TILS) and economic inequality perception.

    Data corresponding to daily surveys prompted via the smartphone, where variables related to mood (valence, activation, energy and emotional events) and social interaction (quantity and quality) are measured.

    Data corresponding to weekly surveys prompted via the smartphone, where information on overall health, hours of physical activity per week, lonileness, and questions related to well-being are asked.

    Data corresponding to an final survey prompted via the smartphone, consisting of similar questions to the ones asked in the initial survey, namely psychological and well-being items (PANAS, PHQ, GAD, BRS and AAQ), social isolation (TILS) and economic inequality perception questions.
