Fuctional classification is the process by which streets and highways are grouped into classes, or systems, according to the character of traffic service that they are intended to provide. The three primary functional classifications include arterials, collectors, and local roads.

This map highlights river stages across the Southeast United States and color-codes based on category of river stages in both current observations and forecast in the next 72 hours.It is designed to be used in the NWS Birmingham Flood Operations Dashboard.The river stage data comes from the Advanced Hydrologic Prediction Service (AHPS) database. Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras are used across the ring road of Birmingham City Council to identify and register every vehicle that enters the zone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year. This information is then securely transmitted to a data centre where software determines the compliance of the vehicle based on its emissions profile The table details the indicative location of Birmingham City Council CAZ cameras with the unique camera site name.
