Data is an extract from Ordnance Survey Boundary-Line product which is a specialist 1:10 000 scale boundaries dataset. It contains all levels of electoral and administrative boundaries, from district, wards and civil parishes (or communities) up to parliamentary, assembly and European constituencies. The information is represented as vector digital data. The boundary information is updated twice a year, in May and October. The May release contains the boundaries that have become live in the first week of May, in the year of release. The October release contains the May boundaries plus additional information.

Dataset Inventory 🗂️

This pack includes 18 datasets covering base maps, reference points, statistical data for choropleths, and geophysical data.

A free mapping tool that allows you to create a thematic map of London without any specialist GIS skills or software - all you need is Microsoft Excel. Templates are available for London’s Boroughs and Wards. Full instructions are contained within the spreadsheets. Macros The tool works in any version of Excel. But the user MUST ENABLE MACROS, for the features to work. There a some restrictions on functionality in the ward maps in Excel 2003 and earlier - full instructions are included in the spreadsheet. To check whether the macros are enabled in Excel 2003 click Tools, Macro, Security and change the setting to Medium. Then you have to re-start Excel for the changes to take effect. When Excel starts up a prompt will ask if you want to enable macros - click yes. In Excel 2007 and later, it should be set by default to the correct setting, but if it has been changed, click on the Windows Office button in the top corner, then Excel options (at the bottom), Trust Centre, Trust Centre Settings, and make sure it is set to 'Disable all macros with notification'. Then when you open the spreadsheet, a prompt labelled 'Options' will appear at the top for you to enable macros. To create your own thematic borough maps in Excel using the ward map tool as a starting point, read these instructions. You will need to be a confident Excel user, and have access to your boundaries as a picture file from elsewhere. The mapping tools created here are all fully open access with no passwords. Copyright notice: If you publish these maps, a copyright notice must be included within the report saying: "Contains Ordnance Survey data © Crown copyright and database rights." NOTE: Excel 2003 users must 'ungroup' the map for it to work.

This includes the City Boundary, bridges, roads, railways, street index grid, watercourses and waterbodies. Streets are listed alphabetically and are numbered by area.

The City of London digital mapping vector data contains very detailed topographic and planning information clipped to the City of London municipal boundary based on a scale of 1:2,000.

This data set contains the geographic location of the city boundary of the City of London, Ontario.

This dataset consists of the boundaries of all Areas of Potential Intensification (API) within the London Borough of Sutton. APIs (formerly called sustainable residential quality or SRQ areas) are designated areas where higher housing density is potentially considered appropriate. They are concentric rings around town centres based on a walking distance of 400m to 800m from the town centre, the equivalent of 5 minutes’ and 10 minutes’ walk to the town centre respectively . Each polygon denotes the boundary of each API: attribution includes the associated policies.

Local Authority is a generic term used to cover London Boroughs, Metropolitan Districts, Non-Metropolitan Districts, and Unitary Authorities in England; Unitary Authorities in Wales; Council Areas in Scotland; and Local Government Districts in Northern Ireland.

The Local Authorities area list contains 404 areas of the following constituent geographies:

• 36 Metropolitan Districts in England
• 201 Non-Metropolitan Districts in England
• 31 London Boroughs in England
• 54 Unitary Authorities in England
• 26 Local Government Districts in Northern Ireland
• 32 Council Areas in Scotland
• 22 Unitary Authorities in Wales
• 2 Census Merged Districts in England

The boundaries are available as either extent of the realm (usually this is the Mean Low Water mark but in some cases boundaries extend beyond this to include off shore islands) or

clipped to the coastline (Mean High Water mark).

This dataset consists of the boundaries of all designated areas of Green Belt within the London Borough of Sutton. The fundamental aim Green Belt is to prevent urban sprawl by keeping land permanently open and that there is a general presumption against inappropriate development in the Green Belt. The construction of new buildings inside a Green Belt is therefore inappropriate unless it is for agriculture and forestry, essential facilities for outdoor sport and recreation, for cemeteries or other uses of open land that preserve the openness of the Green Belt. Each polygon denotes the boundary of each area of Green Belt land: attribution includes the associated policies.

These are shapefiles that define the boundaries of all London boroughs and wards, as they were until 2014. These can be used to create visualisations from many datasets found at London Datastore.
