    Description

This dataset is available on Brisbane City Council’s open data website – data.brisbane.qld.gov.au. The site provides additional features for viewing and interacting with the data and for downloading the data in various formats.

This dataset combines Brisbane City Council property information with the Queensland Government Digital Cadastral Database (DCDB) to show property holdings in Brisbane City Council area.

A property holding is a Council-defined and managed information entity. Its boundaries are generally based on land parcels. A property holding may consist of one or multiple land parcels.

The Digital Cadastral Database (DCDB) is the spatial representation of every current parcel of land in Queensland, and its legal Lot on Plan description and relevant attributes. It provides the map base for systems dealing with land related information. The DCDB is considered to be the point of truth for the graphical representation of property boundaries. It is not the point of truth for the legal property boundary or related attribute information, this will always be the plan of survey or the related titling information and administrative data sets.

    Description

This dataset includes boundaries for sealed plans in Brisbane City Council area before they are registered and updated in Queensland Government Digital Cadastral Database (DCDB).If a development involves subdivision (changes to plan boundaries), Council will seal (endorse) the survey plan once the development is finalised and all relevant conditions of the approval and other lodgement requirements are met.Once the plan is sealed, Council records the change to the plan boundary within this dataset. Sealed Plan boundaries will remain in this dataset until registered with the Queensland Government, and subsequently updated within their Digital Cadastre Database (DCDB). Sealed plan boundaries that are never registered with the Queensland Government will remain in this dataset indefinitely.More information about plan sealing can be found on the Brisbane City Council website.

    Description

This dataset is available on Brisbane City Council’s open data website – data.brisbane.qld.gov.au. The site provides additional features for viewing and interacting with the data and for downloading the data in various formats.

This dataset contains download links for the contours mapped over the Brisbane City Council local government area in 2002. The contours data uses the Geocentric Datum of Australia 1994 (GDA94) datum and is projected in Zone 56 of the Map Grid of Australia (MGA56).

Dataset Downloads The dataset map provides two download options for each grid envelope:

    • DWG: Predefined attachments associated with the grid envelope.
    • JSON: Uses the ESRI Rest API to extract complete contour lines, that have any part of the contour line, within the grid envelope. This option allows you to define a custom envelope.

To download a file in the dataset map, click on a grid envelope, select the download type, click the download link.

Custom Envelope If you need contour lines for a specific area, you can create a custom envelope. By following these steps, you can easily download contour lines for any specific area within the dataset:

    1. Determine Custom Coordinates: Find the latitude and longitude (coordinates) for the top-left and bottom-right corners of your specific area.
    2. Replace Coordinates: Replace the coordinates in any JSON download link with your custom coordinates.

Coordinate Format The coordinate format in the JSON download links is:

    (top left corner)longitude,latitude,(bottom right corner)longitude,latitude

The Data and resources section of this dataset contains further information for this dataset including links to additional contours feature layers.

It is a subset of the full cadastre and contains only lots included in the plan when the City Plan 2014 Amendment v14.00/2019 came into effect. Description

This dataset is available on Brisbane City Council’s open data website – data.brisbane.qld.gov.au. The site provides additional features for viewing and interacting with the data and for downloading the data in various formats.

Brisbane City Council detail plan areas can be used to locate the relevant Detail Plans on Brisbane Images.

The Detail Plans provide a dated record of Brisbane’s built environment in addition to contour levels. They were initially created to plan for installation of sewerage pipes across the city. The dates for the individual detail plans range from 1912 to 1973, depending on proximity to the inner city. However, the early detail plans were manually updated after the publication date on the plans. Therefore, it cannot be assumed that everything shown on the published plan was there at the date printed on the plan. Exact dates for each plan can be determined via the Index registers held by City Archives.

Detail Plans can show the outline of various buildings including land boundaries, fencing, house names and outbuildings within an area. The amount of information recorded however reduces after 1945 as the survey work required less detail and from the late 1960s the plans were mapped from aerial images. Note the original survey books which include the review dates for each plan can be viewed at the City Archives.

This dataset provides the boundary of the area for each Detail Plan and the relevant plan number for locating each plan on Brisbane images. Most Detail plan numbers are numerical. Detail Plan numbers starting with S are for the Sandgate area and starting with W are for Wynnum and Manly.

On the Map tab, a Click to Search link has been created where a Detailed Plan Number exists. Click on any plan area and use the Click to Search link to start a search on Brisbane Images.

The plans are progressively being uploaded to Brisbane Images, so if the search link for a particular Detail Plan Number on the Map tab does not retrieve a result, please contact City Archives and a staff member will upload the plan.

More information about City Archives or Historical material can be found on the Brisbane City Council website.
