This feature class was originally downloaded from the Atlanta Regional Commission GIS data download webpage in April of 2013. The City of Brookhaven GIS department has updated the Brookhaven City Limits using the most accurate data sources possible. Although all the cities in the Atlanta Regional Commission area are represented in this feature class, the City of Brookhaven GIS is only maintaining the Brookhaven City Limits. Also, whenever the Brookhaven boundaries are moved/corrected based on new data the surrounding city boundaries are also moved to align correclty to Brookhaven's boundaries. Also, as adjacent city boundaries are changed or new cities are formed, the City of Brookhaven GIS Department will do it's best to keep this boundaries accurate, but we will not assume responibility for inaccurate city boundaries of other cities. All city boundaries besides the City of Brookhaven's city boundary are for reference purposed only.

The published representation of real property areas, combined with assessing and tax information from CAMA and Tax systems, and organized for consumption in desktop and web applications. This feature class contains redundant geometry in cases where there are multiple condominium units on a given tax parcel.

Review the Original and Historical City Limits of Brookhaven in the Context of the 2023 Annexation Proposal

This Neighborhoods feature class was created based on an aggregate of data from various sources and methods of collection. Such methods include, the use of Google Street View, referencing to digitized Dekalb County Tax map subdivsions, and reference and feedback from Brookhaven Police Department and city employees. Google Street View was used to verify neighborhood limits by looking for boundary markers, such as sign-toppers, entrance signs, and other such markers. The bulk of the data was digitzed from the Brookhaven Subdivisions feature class.

County SubdivisionsThis feature layer, utilizing National Geospatial Data Asset (NGDA) data from the U.S. Census Bureau (USCB), displays the boundaries of all county subdivisions within the United States. Per the USCB, "county subdivisions are the primary divisions of counties and their equivalent entities for the reporting of Census Bureau data. They include legally-recognized minor civil divisions (MCDs) and statistical census county divisions (CCDs), and unorganized territories. This datset represents 2300 sites across the county that are regularly inspected and/or treated for mosquito activity. Fields include: name, habitat, address, city, and postal code. The name field consists of a 2 letter regional code plus a treatment site number, as follows: BH - Treatment sites in Brookhaven Township BN - Sites in the Town of Babylon EH - Sites in the Town of East Hampton FI - Sites on Fire Island FS - Sites on Fisher's Island HN - Sites in the Town of Huntington IS - Sites in the Town of Islip RH - Sites in the Town of Riverhead SD - Sites in the Town of Southold SI- Sites on Shelter Island SM - Sites in the Town of Smithtown SN - Sites in the Town of Southampton

The footprint of a building designed for a function or to afford a particular convenience or service. These are a subset of the buildings found in the BuildingFootprint feature class and only those actively managed by a local government, or other land holder. The information typically comes from design drawings of the facilities and is a framework for the management of interior spaces and work activities associated with such.
