    Description

This GIS Address Point dataset was created and updated by Broward County GIS. As of May 1st, 2015, all single-family residential homes have been updated in this layer and placed on corresponding building footprints when applicable. Since then other addresses are added as they become available from various authoritative sources. December 2016 reprojected to NAD 1983 HARN State Plane Florida East FIPS 0901 Feet.

    · Regular updates to this dataset as new data is submitted and verified.

    · Data is considered current.

This layer is not a complete set of addresses in Broward County. We are in the process of accomplishing our goal to provide emergency services with a precise dataset conducive to rapid and efficient emergency response. Expected completion date is unknown at this time. Future enhancements will include addresses for multi-family residences, strip malls, businesses, etc.

    Description

A geographic depiction of city boundaries in Broward County, Florida.

City boundary data was last updated April 13th, 2021 and previously on February 22, 2021. A small edit was made between Tamarac and Fort Lauderdale just SW of the Executive Airport. In February adjustments were made between Pembroke Pines, Southwest Ranches and Cooper City where their geographies are coincidence and are meant to follow the northern boundaries of STR geography. Prior to this edit, the City of Coral Springs had annexed four parcels of land from unincorporated Broward County; Ordinances 2018-014 (1 parcel) and 2018-036 (3 parcels), effective Sept 15, 2019. Previously in May 2019, a correction was made to the boundaries of Southwest Ranches and Pembroke Pines at Dykes Road and Sheraton, just north of Sheraton, on the west side of Dykes. Prior to this change, a correction was made to the Lauderhill boundary at the Florida Turnpike interchange located at the Sunrise Blvd entrance on the east side of the turnpike in April 2019; the 1959 Lauderhill incorporation legal description, (Laws of Florida 59-1478) left this thirteen acre area as unincorporated. A 1994 boundary change between Plantation and Lauderhill, (Laws of Florida 94-427) de-annexed five parcels from Plantation and annexed them to Lauderhill in this area. However in 1996, Broward County's Strategic Planning and Growth Management Department made available data sets provided by Broward County’s Planning and Information Technology Division via a CD. This data set depicted this unincorporated area as being part of Lauderhill. This depiction remained such until a boundary adjustment in 2006-2007 incorrectly depicted this as being part of Plantation. In 2009 Broward County was made aware of this error and adjusted it partially using the CD boundary as a template. This resulted in the area being incorrectly assigned to Lauderhill. In September of 2018, Lauderhill revisited this boundary depiction by the County and in 2019 it was concluded this area is unincorporated following the 1959 and the 1994 boundary adjustment legal descriptions.

Prior to April 2019 there were other edits. The previous update of the data was Nov 7th, 2018, adusting the boundaries between Weston and Town of Davie to agree with House Bill 0871 which redefined a small area of their adjoining boundaries in the area of Weston Road and I-75. In July 2018, adjustments were made to the City of Margate to align with a city boundary shape file and written legal description as provided by John Shelton, GIS, City of Margate. The previous update was January 17th, 2018, correcting an unincorporated boundary line of the Triple H Ranch plat area within Parkland. This also reflects an adjustment made to Pembroke Pines southwest boundary between the Turnpike and SR 27 and the Sept 15th 2016 annexations of County unincorporated lands by Parkland. (City Ord 2016-06) and Coconut Creek (City Ord. 2015-027).Also a correction to the Hollywood/Davie boundary in the vicinity of Davie Blvd Ext and N 66 Ave and Oak St, per the City of Hollywood. Recent past boundary changes include annexations of county land to Pembroke Pines and Cooper City in 2015. And a Weston-Davie boundary adjustment in 2015; HB 871. And a July 2015 official resurvey of the City of Fort Lauderdale's boundaries which thus included adjustments to Oakland Park and Pompano Beach boundaries, (F. Gulliano, BC Engineering, M. Donaldson PSM, Fort Lauderdale). Also in 2015, a boundary adjustment was made to the eastern most boundary of Pompano Beach to match it to a more accurate depiction of the coastal erosion line by Broward County; (requested by the city to match their legal description). Further back, the were annexations for Parkland (2013) and Sunrise (Nov 2012) and updates to Lauderdale Lakes (per J. Petrov - BC Engineering 2012) and Plantation (I Reyes, GIS - Plantation 2012).

The GIS Section reviews the layer in support of the EOC and the Urban Planning Division. The data is checked for inclusion and geometric placement accuracy. The GIS Section is no longer updating City Parks 100%. We will be reviewing a select handful of parks each year. Generally, we will begin our update schedule with the largest cities first, but a good city parks source may alter that schedule. The years listed below indicate which cities have been updated.

2009: All parks corrected to parcels. Corrected/updated Weston with T. Gates data.

2010: The cities' parks updated included Hollywood, Pompano Beach, and Hollywood.

The review technique was a review and/or incorporation of geodata from Ft. Lauderdale and website information incorporation from Pompano and Hollywood.

2011: Davie Parks updated and corrected based on Irene Degroot's shapefile and aerials. Wilton Manors update complete, city manager’s office said pocket parks are to be expected soon. West Park parks reflect parcels - note Mary Saunders Park is a very irregular shape, made up of many rights-of-way and will be an exception to our parcel-based rule.

2013: Toni Peyton said there were no changes to county parks since Miramar Pinelands. She requested a map of POD parks. Pembroke Pines - reviewed park inventory, park map locator, and spoke with Lori of Chuck Vones' (Dir. Parks and Rec) office. Reviewed Miramar Park Inventory.

2014: Reviewed and updated Coral Springs, Lauderdale By the Sea, Pembroke Park, Pembroke Pines, Lighthouse Point, Fort Lauderdale, Coconut Creek, and West Park.

    2015: Reviewed 05/15/15

2021: Updated by BCGIS - Ruth Rothkoph Park and Lieberman Botanical Park in Lauderhill.

    Description

TheFlorida Department of Revenue’s Property Tax Oversight(PTO) program collects parcel level Geographic Information System (GIS) data files every April from all of Florida’s 67 county property appraisers’ offices. This GIS data was exported from these file submissions between March 15 to April 1, 2023. The GIS parcel polygon features have been joined with thereal property roll (Name – Address – Legal, or NAL)file. No line work was adjusted between county boundaries. The polygon data set represents the information property appraisers gathered from the legal description on deeds, lot layout of recorded plats, declaration of condominium documents, recorded and unrecorded surveys.Individual parcel data is updated continually by each county property appraiser as needed. The GIS linework and related attributions for the statewide parcel map are updated annually by the Department every August. Description

The source dataset represents the locations of hurricane evacuation routes. A hurricane evacuation route is a designated route used to direct traffic inland in case of a hurricane threat.

Use Cases: Use cases describe how the data may be used and help to define and clarify requirements.

    1. A resource for emergency route planning purposes.
    2. A resource for situational awareness planning and response for federal government events.
    3. A portion of an evacuation route may be rendered unusable due to natural or manmade disaster and rerouting of traffic is necessary.
    4. An incident has occurred during an evacuation and first responders must quickly deploy to the area.
    5. Public awareness.

Supplemental: Hurricane Evacuation Routes in the United States. A hurricane evacuation route is a designated route used to direct traffic inland in case of a hurricane threat. This dataset is based on supplied data from Gulf Coast and Atlantic Seaboard states. Each state was contacted by TGS to determine an official source for hurricane evacuation routes. GIS data was gathered from states willing to share such data. In cases where states were unable or unwilling to share data in this format, TGS requested that the states provide a source for identifying hurricane evacuation routes. The states usually identified a website that made this data available to the public. Three (3) states (ME, NY, and NH) indicated that they do not maintain public maps showing hurricane evacuation routes and were unable or unwilling to share GIS files depicting such routes. Hurricane evacuation routes depicted on non-GIS maps were digitized using aerial ortho imagery while referencing supplied maps. Shape files that depicted hurricane evacuation routes were edge matched and merged with the digitized evacuation routes. All routes identified as primary hurricane evacuation routes were included in this dataset. If a state also designated secondary hurricane evacuation routes, they were included as well. Routes depicted in this dataset are dependent upon what each state identified as a hurricane evacuation route. Criteria used to identify these routes may vary from state to state.

    Description

The data was created by geocoding a list of facility location addresses derived from the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (ACHA) list and FPL premise list against a composite address locator. Some addresses were matched on address points, parcel centroids while others were placed according to the street centerline address range. Attributes include classification of critical and noncritical infrastructures, premise number, name and location address. The points representing the location of infrastructure in this data is approximate.

    Description

This dataset is a combination of the Broward County Parks, Broward County City Parks, and Broward County State Parks datasets.

Broward County Parks: The locations of all sixty-two county-owned and operated parks, last updated March 2013 when the Lafayette Park boundary changed. This layer was reviewed by the Parks and Recreation Division of Broward County on 5/15/2015 with no updates required. This layer will be updates as park boundaries change or new parks are added to Broward County.

Broward County City Parks: The GIS Section reviews the BCGIS.ParkCity layer annually in support of the EOC and the Comprehensive Plan. The data is checked for inclusion and geometric placement accuracy. The GIS Section is no longer updating City Parks 100%. We will be reviewing a select handful of parks each year. Generally we will begin our update schedule with the largest cities first, but a good city parks source may alter that schedule.

Wilton Manors update complete, city managers office said pocket parks are to be expected soon. West Park parks reflect parcels - note Mary Saunders Park is a very irregular shape, made up of many rights-of-way and will be an exception to our parcel based rule.

Broward County State Parks: Two State Parks in Broward County, Fl. Data reviewed 05/15/2015.
