This tiled cached map service contains Building Structures (2-D, from Ortho Imagery) hosted at MassGIS' ArcGIS Online account.
This dataset consists of 2-dimensional roof outlines ("roofprints") for all buildings larger than 150 square feet, as interpreted by a contractor (Rolta) for the whole area of the Commonwealth using color, 30 cm. DigitalGlobe ortho images obtained in 2011 and 2012, supplemented with LiDAR (Light Detection And Ranging) data collected from 2002 to 2011 for the eastern half of the state.
The roofprints as delivered were enhanced by MassGIS using Normalized Digital Surface Models (NDSMs) derived from the same LiDAR data. Other layers were used, including the Property Tax Parcels, to aid in review, especially where LiDAR data were not available.
MassGIS has updated the data using ortho imagery from 2019, 2021, and 2023. Some building structure features were obtained from municipal data.

Microsoft recently released a free set of deep learning generated building footprints covering the United States of America. In support of this great work and to make these building footprints available to the ArcGIS community, Esri has consolidated the buildings into a single layer and shared them in ArcGIS Online. The footprints can be used for visualization using vector tile format or as hosted feature layer to do analysis. This layer shows the Level 3 3D building models of Hong Kong. The 3D models were converted from Level 3 building models. It is a subset of 3D-BIT00 3D Spatial Data made available by Lands Department under the Government of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (the “Government”) at https://www.hkmapservice.gov.hk/ (“HKMS 2.0”). The source data is in 3DS format and uploaded to Esri’s ArcGIS Online platform for sharing and referencing purpose. This Web Map is a subset of Open Street Maps Buildings for Asia Feature Layer to focus on Central Asia and Caucasus Region. If you would like to access the data please use the feature layer that provides access to OpenStreetMap. This feature layer provides access to OpenStreetMap (OSM) buildings data for Asia, which is updated every 1 minute with the latest edits. This hosted feature layer view is referencing a hosted feature layer of OSM polygon (closed way) data in ArcGIS Online that is updated with minutely diffs from the OSM planet file. This feature layer view includes building features defined as a query against the hosted feature layer (i.e. building is not blank).In OSM, a building is a man-made structure with a roof, standing more or less permanently in one place. These features are identified with a building tag. There are thousands of different tag values for building used in the OSM database. In this feature layer, unique symbols are used for several of the most popular building types, while lesser used types are grouped in an "other" category.Zoom in to large scales (e.g. Streets level or 1:10k scale) to see the building features display. You can click on a feature to get the name of the building (if available). The name of the building will display by default at large scales (e.g. Street level of 1:5k scale). Labels can be turned off in your map if you prefer.Create New LayerIf you would like to create a more focused version of this buildings layer displaying just one or two building types, you can do that easily! This dataset provides current outlines of buildings within mainland New Zealand captured from the latest aerial imagery.
A building outline is a 2D representation of the roof outline of a building which has been classified from LINZ aerial imagery using a combination of automated and manual processes to extract and refine a building roof outline.
Building outlines observed in aerial imagery larger than or equal to 10 square meters are captured in this dataset, and may include structures such as garages and large sheds.
Data vintage
This dataset shows the most recent set of building outlines extracted from the LINZ aerial imagery available on the LINZ Data Service.
Current coverage includes nearly all regions of New Zealand, except parts of the Southern Alps, as well as Fiordland, Stewart Island and the Chatham Islands. This dataset will be updated and expanded as new aerial imagery becomes available.
Since aerial imagery is flown only every few years in each region of the country, building outlines only reflect those buildings observed at the date of this aerial imagery capture, and may not reflect buildings constructed after this time period.

Open water bathymetric colors were improved to allow a smooth transition to scales without the water depth polygons. Road color, line width and effects were adjusted. Overall, additional feature class specifications were changed in conjunction with the land fill opacity change. Equivalence (the equal-area property of a map projection) is important to some categories of maps. However, unlike for conformal projections, completely general techniques have not been developed for creating new, computationally reasonable equal-area projections. The literature describes many specific equal-area projections and a few equal-area projections that are more or less configurable, but flexibility is still sparse. This work develops a tractable technique for generating a continuum of equal-area projections between two chosen equal-area projections. The technique gives map projection designers unlimited choice in tailoring the projection to the need. The technique is particularly suited to maps that dynamically adapt optimally to changing scale and region of interest, such as required for online maps.
