Local authority level data on care leavers, aged 22 to 25, by activity (as measured at their latest contact). Users should be cautious when drawing conclusions from this data. Activity information is only for those young people who contacted the LA and requested and received support and so for older care leavers the cohort may be small. For some local authorities, the figures may be impacted by significant numbers of unaccompanied asylum seeking children.

Statistics on social services for children are collected and published by the following government departments:
In each area of social services, there are similarities between the collections in the different countries, but also differences. These may be due to different legislation, the differing history of data collections and differences in the requirements for monitoring policy. To fulfil the UKSA requirement to document these differences, a report has been produced comparing the legislative provisions in each country, describing the range of statistics produced and providing a set of statistics for English regions, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Former care leavers who are in suitable accommodation. Former care leavers: Young people aged 19 (i.e., at or near their 19th birthday) who were looked after under any legal status . Suitable accommodation: Accommodation is to be regarded as suitable if it provides safe, secure and affordable provision for young people. It would generally include short-term accommodation designed to move young people on to stable long-term accommodation, but would exclude emergency accommodation used in a crisis.
