    Description

Excel Age-Range creator for 2001 and 2011 Census population figures. This Excel-based tool enables users to query the single year of age raw data so that any age range can easily be calculated without having to carry out often complex, and time consuming formulas that could also be open to human error. Simply select the lower and upper age range for both males and females and the spreadsheet will return the total population for the range. This file uses the single year of age data from the 2011 Census released on 24 September 2012, which was available for all Local Authorities. The ward data is currently modelled data for sex, based on single year of age data from Table qs103ew. The final data will be inserted into the tool when it is released in summer 2013. Also included are the 2001 Census figures for comparison. This tool was created by the GLA Intelligence Unit. A seperate Custom Age-Range Tool for Census 2011 Workday population is available below. This is for local authorities and higher geographies only. Download data from ONS website

    Description

The Geographic Attribute File is a dataset that contains census geographic information at the Dissemination Block level for all of Canada for the 2011 census. Dissemination Blocks are the smallest geographic area for which population and dwelling count data are disseminated. Each record includes geographic coordinates, population and dwelling counts, land area, names, unique identifiers, and geographic codes for linkages with other census boundaries.

The original dataset is available from Statistics Canada as a text file (.txt) or an Excel spreadsheet (.xlsx). For viewing in Scholars GeoPortal, the dataset was converted from its original tabular format into a Shapefile format using the point coordinates available for each record. These coordinates are only for Dissemination Areas, not Dissemination Blocks, so in some cases, there are several points at the same location (where a Dissemination Area is composed of several Dissemination Blocks).

The original data tables, and other supporting files and documentation, are available as additional downloads from Scholars GeoPortal.

    Abstract

Since the 1990s the Government of the Gambia has been committed to sustainable human development and improved living standards of the people of the country, During this period, the Government has established a number of strategies and approaches to achieve these overarching objectives, including: a Vision 2020, Millennium Development Goals, Poverty Reduction Strategies, and very recently a Programme for Accelerated Growth and Employment. Each of these strategies recognized the major roles and contributions of the Agriculture and Natural Resources (ANR) Sector in achieving their respective objectives. Although the sector made impressive growth performances during the past two decades, there were indications more could be achieved from it, especially because of the increasing demands being placed on it to meet changing circumstances in the global economy, from climate change occurrences the national macro-economic environment.

The long-term objectives of The Gambia Census of Agriculture 20011/12 were: a. Improvement of the capacity and capability in the to implement an agriculture census and thereby provide agricultural statistical data within the overall integrated agricultural statistical system; b. Provision of national agricultural statistical indicators for assessing and monitoring of the implementation of agricultural development programmes and interventions; c. Monitoring progress towards the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs); d. Poverty alleviation

The more specific objectives were: a. Establishment of a viable sampling frames for agricultural surveys and censuses; b. Development and implementation of a national programme for an agricultural census and an annual crop and livestock surveys to collect Food and Agricultural statistics; c. Improvement of skills and knowledge of field staff in agricultural statistical data collection and compilation techniques and thereby develop the capability for undertaking agricultural censuses and surveys as well as compile relevant indicators; d. Collection and accumulation of annual agricultural statistics; e. Establishment of an agricultural data bank; f. To provide data on the structure of agriculture, especially for small administrative units, and to enable detailed cross tabulations and g. To provide data to use as benchmarks for current agricultural statistics

    Analysis unit

    Households

    Universe

The statistical unit was the agricultural holding, defined as a technical or operational unit of agricultural production comprising all land used wholly or partly for agricultural production purposes, under single management exercised by one person alone or with others, without regard to title, legal form, size or location.

    Kind of data

    Census/enumeration data [cen]

    Sampling procedure

    i. Methodological modality for conducting the census The AC was a sample-based census. A community survey was conducted jointly with the AC.

ii. Frame The EAs defined by the GBoS for the 2003 Population Census (PCs) were used for the AC as PSUs. Complete and/or sample enumeration methods The 2011/2012 AC was conducted using sample enumeration.

iii. Sample design Two-stage sample design was applied, the PSUs being the EAs. The sample of EAs was selected from each district with PPS (the number of households was used as a measure of size). The SSUs were the agricultural holdings. The SSUs within the EAs were selected using systematic random sampling (SRS). During the first stage, 400 EAs were selected, while 2 000 agricultural holdings were selected during the second stage. The AC covered approximately 15 percent of the EAs and 4 percent of all households enumerated in the 2003 PC.

iv. Sampling Size Background information from the 2011 Agricultural Census programme had indicated the sampling error obtained for the early millet crop acreage was determined to be 12%. For a country like The Gambia, experience has shown that if the number of households in the sample is increased to about 2000 households or 4% of the total households in the country, this would result in an acceptable sampling error of 2%. Consequently, out of the total number of 2434 rural EAs in the country, four hundred (400 or 15%) were sampled. Such a sample was considered to be adequate for providing regional estimates with a reasonable degree of precision. Additionally, it was known from experience of the last agricultural census conducted in 2003 and the subsequent annual sample surveys that by providing adequate logistics (transportation facilities and incentive allowances), an enumerator workload that could be handled was about six EAs.

    Mode of data collection

    Face-to-face [f2f]

    Research instrument

Detailed census data were collected using seven questionnaire forms:

    · Form 1 - Listing questionnaire, used to list all households in a sampled EA, to identify those engaged in agricultural activities (that is, the agricultural holdings) · Form 2 - Holding questionnaire, used to collect data on the demographic characteristics of household members, as well as some data on the agricultural holding · Form 3 - Field questionnaire · Form 4 - Yield plot questionnaire, used for recording harvest from yield plots · Form 5 - Village questionnaire, designed to collect community- level data · Form 6 - Groundnut questionnaire · Form 7 - Mango questionnaire

The questionnaires covered 11 of the 16 core items recommended by the WCA 2010. All questionnaires are attached to the external materials section.

    Cleaning operations

    1. DATA PROCESSING AND ARCHIVING The main programs for data entry, batch edit/validation and tabulations were developed using CSPro. Error controls were built into every stage of the data processing cycle. Two IBM 120-GB external mass storage devices were used for weekly backups of the census data. STATA was used to calculate standard errors and coefficients of variation for the census estimates. CSPro was used to produce most of the tables according to the tabulation plan designed by the Census Technical Committee. In some cases, Microsoft Excel was used to generate data charts.

    2. CENSUS DATA QUALITY CSPro data verification techniques were used to control the quality of the census data. In this process, data were keyed again and compared with the value currently in the data file. The system would flag errors in case of discrepancies between the item in the file and the keyed item.

    Description

This data contains household 2012 based population projections by district.

The methodology for the 2012-based household projections was based upon the ‘2011-based interim’ and ‘2008-based’ household projections. A description is provided in the Methodology Document. The methodology uses the latest ONS sub-national population projections and incorporates information from the Census 2011 on household population and numbers down to local authority level and some data on household formation rates at a national level. Further work will investigate including detailed analysis of household formation down to local authority level. In the meantime, these projections provide the most up to date and nationally consistent estimates.

As with the previous projections, the methodology is split into two stages: Stage One produces summary household numbers based on long-term demographic trends and Stage Two gives a more detailed breakdown of household type. This release presents results from Stage One only, with Stage Two outputs to follow as soon as possible.

The assumptions underlying national household and population projections are based on demographic trends. They are not forecasts as, for example, they do not attempt to predict the impact of future Government policies, changing economic circumstances or other factors that might have influence household growth. The projections show the household numbers that would result if the assumptions based in previous demographic trends in the population and rates of household formation were to be realised in practice.

This data was derived from published live tables available for download as an Excel spreadsheet.

    Description

This Households Below Average Income (HBAI) report presents information on living standards in the United Kingdom year on year from 1994/1995 to 2012/2013. It provides estimates on the number and percentage of people living in low-income households. Figures are also provided for children, pensioners, working-age adults and individuals living in a family where someone is disabled.

Most of the figures in this report come from the Family Resources Survey, a representative survey of around 20,000 households in the UK.

The 2012/13 report is the first to use 2011 Census data to derive grossing factors which are used to weight the survey findings so that they are representative of the whole UK population.

Following consultation with users we have produced a single report, which includes commentary, charts and summary tables.

We have also published all of the publication tables (in Microsoft Excel format), as well as number of trend data files (CSV format). These are available to download above as ‘zip’ files.

    Description

The community profiles contain data from 2016 Census and long form program. The 2016 census data is considered to be of good quality and general comparisons can be made with similar data from previous years. Direct comparisons cannot be made between Statistics Canada’s 2016 Long Form data and the 2011 National Household Survey (NHS).The figures shown in the tables and charts have been subjected to a confidentiality procedure known as random rounding to prevent the possibility of associating statistical data with any identifiable individual. Under this method, all figures, including totals and margins, are randomly rounded either up or down to a multiple of "5", and in some cases "10". While providing strong protection against disclosure, this technique does not add significant error to the data. The user should be aware that totals and margins are rounded independently of the cell data so that some differences between these and the sum of rounded cell data may exist. Also, minor differences can be expected in corresponding totals and cell values among various census tabulations.Statistics Canada is committed to protect the privacy of all Canadians and the confidentiality of the data they provide. As part of this commitment, some population counts of geographic areas are adjusted in order to ensure confidentiality. For more information about Kingston's Community & Neighbourhood Profiles, as well as links to exciting new tools, please visit our website: https://www.cityofkingston.ca/explore/neighbourhood-profilesA detailed Glossary of Terms is also available (Adobe PDF format): https://drive.google.com/file/d/1KAbrqmARXjzy1yBcVlVYf2Xz-KidOfXM/view?usp=sharingNOTE: The data delivered by Statistics Canada for Kingston has been altered and "category totals" removed in the languages section.
