The 2024 APS Employee Census was administered to eligible Australian Public Service (APS) employees between 6 May and 7 June 2024. Overall, 140,396 APS employees responded to the APS Employee Census in 2024, a response rate of 81%.
The APS Employee Census is an annual employee perception survey of the Australian Public Service workforce. The APS Employee Census has been conducted since 2012 and collects APS employee opinions and perspectives on a range of topics, including employee engagement, wellbeing, and leadership.
The APS Employee Census provides a comprehensive view of the APS and ensures no eligible respondents are omitted from the survey sample, removing sampling bias and reducing sample error.
Please be aware that the very large number of respondents to the APS Employee Census means these files are over 200MB in size.

The American Community Survey (ACS), conducted by the U.S. Census Bureau, replaced the long form of the decennial census in 2000. The ACS allows researchers, policy makers, and others access to timely information about the U.S. population to make decisions about infrastructure and distribution of federal funds. The monthly survey is sent to a sample of approximately 3.5 million U.S. addresses, including the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. Note, the Census Bureau produced 3-year estimates between 2005 and 2013 (resulting in seven files: 2005-2007, 2006-2008, 2007-2009, . . . 2011-2013), which remain available but no additional 3-year estimate files have been created. Individuals wishing to describe people working in occupations related to the arts or culture should plan to use at least five years' worth of data to generate precise estimates. The 2023-24 Lesotho Demographic and Health Survey (2023-24 LDHS) is designed to provide data for monitoring the population and health situation in Lesotho. The 2023-24 LDHS is the 4th Demographic and Health Survey conducted in Lesotho since 2004.
The primary objective of the 2023–24 LDHS is to provide up-to-date estimates of basic demographic and health indicators. Specifically, the LDHS collected information on fertility levels, marriage, sexual activity, fertility preferences, awareness and use of family planning methods, breastfeeding practices, nutrition, childhood and maternal mortality, maternal and child health, awareness and behaviour regarding HIV and AIDS and other sexually transmitted infections (STIs), other health issues (including tuberculosis) and chronic diseases, adult mortality (including maternal mortality), mental health and well-being, and gender-based violence. In addition, the 2023–24 LDHS provides estimates of anaemia prevalence among children age 6–59 months and adults as well as estimates of hypertension and diabetes among adults.
The information collected through the 2023–24 LDHS is intended to assist policymakers and programme managers in designing and evaluating programmes and strategies for improving the health of Lesotho’s population. The survey also provides indicators relevant to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for Lesotho.
National coverage
The survey covered all de jure household members (usual residents), all women aged 15-49, all men aged 15-59, and all children aged 0-4 resident in the household.
Sample survey data [ssd]
The sampling frame used for the 2023–24 LDHS is based on the 2016 Population and Housing Census (2016 PHC), provided by the Lesotho Bureau of Statistics (BoS). The frame file is a complete list of all census enumeration areas (EAs) within Lesotho. An EA is a geographic area, usually a city block in an urban area or a village in a rural area, consisting of approximately 100 households. In rural areas, it may consist of one or more villages. Each EA serves as a counting unit for the population census and has a satellite map delineating its boundaries, with identification information and a measure of size, which is the number of residential households enumerated in the 2016 PHC. Lesotho is administratively divided into 10 districts; each district is subdivided into constituencies and each constituency into community councils.
The 2023–24 LDHS sample of households was stratified and selected independently in two stages. Each district was stratified into urban, peri-urban, and rural areas; this yielded 29 sampling strata because there are no peri-urban areas in Butha-Buthe. In the first sampling stage, 400 EAs were selected with probability proportional to EA size and with independent selection in each sampling stratum. A household listing operation was carried out in all of the selected sample EAs, and the resulting lists of households served as the sampling frame for the selection of households in the next stage.
In the second stage of selection, a fixed number of 25 households per cluster (EA) were selected with an equal probability systematic selection from the newly created household listing. All women age 15–49 who were usual members of the selected households or who spent the night before the survey in the selected households were eligible for the Woman’s Questionnaire. In every other household, all men age 15–59 who were usual members of the selected households or who spent the night before the survey in the selected households were eligible for the Man’s Questionnaire. All households in the men’s subsample were eligible for the Biomarker Questionnaire.
Fifteen listing teams, each consisting of three listers/mappers and a supervisor, were deployed in the field to complete the listing operation. Training of the household listers/mappers took place from 28 to 30 June 2024. The household listing operation was carried out in all of the selected EAs from 5 to 26 July 2024. For each household, Global Positioning System (GPS) data were collected at the time of listing and during interviews.

Four questionnaires were used for the 2023–24 LDHS: the Household Questionnaire, the Woman’s Questionnaire, the Man’s Questionnaire, and the Biomarker Questionnaire. The questionnaires, based on The DHS Program’s model questionnaires, were adapted to reflect the population and health issues relevant to Lesotho and were translated into Sesotho. In addition, a self-administered Fieldworker Questionnaire collected information about the survey’s fieldworkers.
The survey data were collected using tablet computers running the Android operating system and Census and Survey Processing System (CSPro) software, jointly developed by the United States Census Bureau, ICF, and Serpro S.A. English and Sesotho questionnaires were used for collecting data via CAPI. The CAPI programmes accepted only valid responses, automatically performed checks on ranges of values, skipped to the appropriate question based on the responses given, and checked the consistency of the data collected. Answers to the survey questions were entered into the tablets by each interviewer. Supervisors downloaded interview data to their tablet, checked the data for completeness, and monitored fieldwork progress.
Each day, after completion of interviews, field supervisors submitted data to the central server. Data were sent to the central office via secure internet data transfer. The data processing managers monitored the quality of the data received and downloaded completed data files for completed clusters into the system. ICF provided the CSPro software for data processing and technical assistance in the preparation of the data capture, data management, and data editing programmes. Secondary editing was conducted simultaneously with data collection. All technical support for data processing and use of the tablets was provided by ICF.

The 2023 Census was sent via email to 18,833 school food authorities (SFAs) including all public, private, and charter SFAs, as well as residential care institutions, participating in the National School Lunch Program. The Metropolitan Planning Area (MPA) boundary is the line that includes the entire existing urbanized area defined by the United States Census, plus the areas expected to urbanize in the next 20 years. These areas are the basis for long-range and short-range transportation plans required by Federal law.After each Census, Federal rules require that ARC and local governments redraw the boundary. Being included in the MPA means those local governments can apply for federal funding through the TIP process and become eligible for funding under the Livable Centers Initiative, the comprehensive transportation plan, and other ARC projects. Following the 2020 Census, the Census Bureau designated a revised Atlanta Urbanized Area(UA) based on 2020 Census data. The Atlanta UA includes all or part of 20 counties, down from the 23 counties designated following the 2010 Census. These 20 include Barrow, Bartow, Cherokee, Clayton, Cobb, Coweta, Dawson, DeKalb, Douglas, Fayette, Forsyth, Fulton, Gwinnett, Hall, Henry, Newton, Paulding, Rockdale, Spalding, and Walton counties.The Census applied new, stricter criteria in determining whether a census tract was urban or rural. In some places, this has meant that the Atlanta UA appears to have gotten smaller. For this reason, Pike County is no longer included in either the Atlanta Urbanized Area or the new MPA boundary. The Atlanta UA also no longer extends into Carroll County, though the new MPA boundary will include part of Carroll County as detailed below. This dataset contains the dates and locations of Gulf Stream cyclonic eddy formation and demises along with their surface area at each of these times. The methodology to document and analyze the presence of Gulf Stream cyclonic eddies emulated the GIS-based process used to generate the 38-year warm-core ring census described by Gangopadhyay et al., (2020) and published by Gangopadhyay & Gawarkiewicz (2020). This study continued the use of the Jenifer Clark Charts of the Gulf Stream (Clark Charts) to identify cyclonic eddies. The Clark Charts are synoptic oceanographic analysis charts that employ SST, altimetry, and field observations to map the path of the Gulf Stream, location and size of warm and cold eddies and adjacent filaments. They have been consistently produced two to three times per week since 1980. Thus, we used approximately 3,700+ Charts for the 24 years of analysis. All of these charts were reanalyzed between -75° and -55°W using QGIS 3.30.3-'s-Hertogenbosch (2023) and geo-referenced on a WGS84 coordinate system (Decker, 1986). This census accounts for all cyclonic eddies from 2000-2023 in the Sargasso Sea between the Gulf Stream extension and 33°N. This census has a total of 595 eddies consisting of 303 hook-type eddies, 140 pinch-off rings, and 152 Sargasso eddies. The formation and demise of Gulf Stream cyclonic eddies from 1980-2019 within the area of study were previously examined by Silver et al. (2021). Findings of this census suggest three different cyclonic eddy formation types: pinch-off cyclonic rings, hook-type cyclonic eddies, and Sargasso Sea cyclonic eddies. Pinch-off cyclonic rings form from a Gulf Stream meander trough amplifying, then encircling Slope Sea water and eventually detaching from the Gulf Stream as a cyclonic cold-core ring in the Sargasso Sea. Hook-type eddies form from a southward extending filament of the southern flank of the Gulf Stream establishing as a hook-like entity cyclonically encircling a body of Sargasso Sea water at its core. Sargasso Sea cyclonic eddies are isolated from the Gulf Stream and occur in the Sargasso Sea. The format of the dataset is similar to that of the warm-core ring (WCR) census in Gangopadhyay et al., 2020, except that this census table contains the ‘type of formation’ as discussed above (Also see Jensen, 2024). This dataset is a single file of a table containing each cyclonic eddy’s center location and its surface area at the times of its birth (DOB) and demise (DOD) between January 1, 2000 to December 31, 2023. On formation, each cyclonic eddy (CE) was assigned a unique identification code consisting of “CE”, followed by the four-digit year of formation, two-digit month and day of formation, and a subsequent letter of the alphabet. The alphabetical sequence started by assigning the first letters of the alphabet to the eddies that carried over from the previous year and then the first new cyclonic eddy born received the next letter in the alphabet. For example, if there were six eddies from the previous year, they would be labeled A-F. If the next cyclonic eddy was born on January 7, 2021, it would be identified as “CE20210107G”. This ID code was also used to label the same eddy at its demise. Each row of the census table contains variables “CEID” for the eddy’s identification code, “FORMTYPE” – the eddy’s formation type, “DOB” – the eddy’s date of formation, “BLON_W”- the eddy center’s longitude (W) at formation, “BLAT_N”- the eddy center’s latitude (N) at formation, “BAREAIN_km2” - the area of the eddy’s inner core size in km^2 at formation, “BAREAOUT_km2” - the area of the eddy’s outer annulus of Gulf Stream water (including the inner core area) in km^2 at formation, “DOD” – the eddy’s date of demise, “DLON_W”- the eddy center’s longitude (W) at demise, “DLAT_N”- the eddy center’s latitude (N) at demise, “DAREAIN_km2” - the area of the eddy’s inner core size in km^2 at demise, and “DAREAOUT_km2” - the area of the eddy’s outer annulus of Gulf Stream water (including the inner core area) in km^2 at demise. This dataset is the definitive of the annually released meshblock boundaries as at 1 January 2024 as defined by Stats NZ. This version contains 57,539 meshblocks, including 16 with empty or null geometries (non-digitised meshblocks).
Stats NZ maintains an annual meshblock pattern for collecting and producing statistical data. This allows data to be compared over time.
A meshblock is the smallest geographic unit for which statistical data is collected and processed by Stats NZ. A meshblock is a defined geographic area, which can vary in size from part of a city block to a large area of rural land. The optimal size for a meshblock is 30–60 dwellings (containing approximately 60–120 residents).
Each meshblock borders on another to form a network covering all of New Zealand, including coasts and inlets and extending out to the 200-mile economic zone (EEZ) and is digitised to the 12-mile (19.3km) limit. Meshblocks are added together to build up larger geographic areas such as statistical area 1 (SA1), statistical area 2 (SA2), statistical area 3 (SA3), and urban rural (UR). They are also used to define electoral districts, territorial authorities, and regional councils.
Meshblock boundaries generally follow road centrelines, cadastral property boundaries, or topographical features such as rivers. Expanses of water in the form of lakes and inlets are defined separately from land.

While meshblock boundaries are continually under review, 'freezes' on changes to the boundaries are applied periodically. Such 'freezes' are imposed at the time of population censuses and during periods of intense electoral activity, for example, prior and during general and local body elections.
Meshblock numbering
Meshblocks are not named and have seven-digit codes.
When meshblocks are split, each new meshblock is given a new code. The original meshblock codes no longer exist within that version and future versions of the meshblock classification. Meshblock codes do not change when a meshblock boundary is nudged.
Meshblocks that existed prior to 2015 and have not changed are numbered from 0000100 to 3210003. Meshblocks created from 2015 onwards are numbered from 4000000.

This high definition (HD) version is the most detailed geometry, suitable for use in GIS for geometric analysis operations and for the computation of areas, centroids and other metrics. The HD version is aligned to the LINZ cadastre.

This dataset contains model-based census tract level estimates in GIS-friendly format. PLACES covers the entire United States—50 states and the District of Columbia—at county, place, census tract, and ZIP Code Tabulation Area levels. It provides information uniformly on this large scale for local areas at four geographic levels. Estimates were provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Division of Population Health, Epidemiology and Surveillance Branch. PLACES was funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation in conjunction with the CDC Foundation. Data sources used to generate these model-based estimates are Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) 2022 or 2021 data, Census Bureau 2010 population estimates, and American Community Survey (ACS) 2015–2019 estimates. The 2024 release uses 2022 BRFSS data for 36 measures and 2021 BRFSS data for 4 measures (high blood pressure, high cholesterol, cholesterol screening, and taking medicine for high blood pressure control among those with high blood pressure) that the survey collects data on every other year. These data can be joined with the Census tract 2022 boundary file in a GIS system to produce maps for 40 measures at the census tract level.
