The Office of Personnel Management requires government agencies, at a minimum, to query employees on job satisfaction, organizational assessment and organizational culture. VHA maintains response data for all census surveys such as the Voice of VA as well as the VA Entrance and Exit surveys.

The Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages (QCEW) program (also known as ES-202) collects employment and wage data from employers covered by New York State's Unemployment Insurance (UI) Law. This program is a cooperative program with the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. QCEW data encompass approximately 97 percent of New York's nonfarm employment, providing a virtual census of employees and their wages as well as the most complete universe of employment and wage data, by industry, at the State, regional and county levels. "Covered" employment refers broadly to both private-sector employees as well as state, county, and municipal government employees insured under the New York State Unemployment Insurance (UI) Act. Federal employees are insured under separate laws, but are considered covered for the purposes of the program. Employee categories not covered by UI include some agricultural workers, railroad workers, private household workers, student workers, the self-employed, and unpaid family workers. QCEW data are similar to monthly Current Employment Statistics (CES) data in that they reflect jobs by place of work; therefore, if a person holds two jobs, he or she is counted twice. However, since the QCEW program, by definition, only measures employment covered by unemployment insurance laws, its totals will not be the same as CES employment totals due to the employee categories excluded by UI.

Data Processing Notes: Boundaries come from the US Census Bureau TIGER geodatabases. Boundaries are updated at the same time as the data updates (annually), and the boundary vintage appropriately matches the data vintage as specified by the Census Bureau. These are Census Bureau boundaries with water and/or coastlines clipped for cartographic purposes. For census tracts, the water cutouts are derived from a subset of the 2010 AWATER (Area Water) boundaries offered by TIGER. For state and county boundaries, the water and coastlines are derived from the coastlines of the 500k TIGER Cartographic Boundary Shapefiles. The original AWATER and ALAND fields are still available as attributes within the data table (units are square meters). The States layer contains 56 records - all US states, Washington D.C., Puerto Rico, and U.S. Island Areas Blank values represent industries where there either were no businesses in that industry and that geography OR industries where the data had to be withheld to avoid disclosing data for individual companies. Based on our analysis ACS 2017-2021 5-Year Estimates, we present the following observations: - All workers, aged 15 years and older: In Portal, the median income for all workers aged 15 years and older, regardless of work hours, was $31,482 for males and $19,592 for females.

These income figures highlight a substantial gender-based income gap in Portal. Women, regardless of work hours, earn 62 cents for each dollar earned by men. This significant gender pay gap, approximately 38%, underscores concerning gender-based income inequality in the town of Portal.

- Full-time workers, aged 15 years and older: In Portal, among full-time, year-round workers aged 15 years and older, males earned a median income of $55,151, while females earned $37,495, leading to a 32% gender pay gap among full-time workers. This illustrates that women earn 68 cents for each dollar earned by men in full-time roles. This level of income gap emphasizes the urgency to address and rectify this ongoing disparity, where women, despite working full-time, face a more significant wage discrepancy compared to men in the same employment roles.

Remarkably, across all roles, including non-full-time employment, women displayed a similar gender pay gap percentage. This indicates a consistent gender pay gap scenario across various employment types in Portal, showcasing a consistent income pattern irrespective of employment status.

Context

The dataset presents median income data over a decade or more for males and females categorized by Total, Full-Time Year-Round (FT), and Part-Time (PT) employment in Chugwater. Key observations: Insights from 2023

Based on our analysis ACS 2019-2023 5-Year Estimates, we present the following observations: - All workers, aged 15 years and older: In Chugwater, the median income for all workers aged 15 years and older, regardless of work hours, was $44,149 for males and $24,327 for females.

These income figures highlight a substantial gender-based income gap in Chugwater. Women, regardless of work hours, earn 55 cents for each dollar earned by men. This significant gender pay gap, approximately 45%, underscores concerning gender-based income inequality in the town of Chugwater.

- Full-time workers, aged 15 years and older: In Chugwater, among full-time, year-round workers aged 15 years and older, males earned a median income of $63,125, while females earned $24,327, leading to a 61% gender pay gap among full-time workers.
