    Description

    This map includes information about the geographical location, extent, future land use, and status of projects in or around Austin. With a few exceptions, only projects that are more than 10 acres and/or those that will have 20 or more residential units have been included. Some of the exceptions are smaller sites in the urban core that will be more densely developed or larger sites with fewer units that cover large tracts of land. The information is sourced from newspapers, web blogs, web sites, as well as the City's development review process. The information is a snapshot in time and might not depict the actual current status of the project. This information is usually updated on a quarterly basis. Some of the information presented in the map includes: Proposed Land Use: Projects are categorized by proposed land use on the map. Civic: includes hospitals, government services, educational, religious, meeting and assembly, cemeteries, cultural servicesCommercial: includes hotels, self storage facilities, commercial recreational spaces, non residential uses that are not solely retail or office Industrial: includes manufacturing, mining, solar farms, warehouses, landfills, warehousing and distributionMiscellaneous: Mixed Use: includes combination of uses, typically residential with non residential uses. Office: officeOpen Space: includes parks and greenbelts, golf courses, camp grounds, preserves, trailsPUD: projects which have been submitted as Planned Unit Developments to the City's development review process. Residential - Duplex : duplexesResidential - Multi Family: includes apartments, attached condominiums, group quarters, retirement housing, three/ fourplexesResidential - Single Family: single family, includes manufactured homes. Retail: retailTransportation: includes rail road facilities, transportation facilities, bus stations, marinas, aviation facilitiesUtility: electric, waste water, and water utilitiesProject Status: The database also includes information about the status of the project.Status is categorized as follows -Proposed: Projects that have been proposed for a particular site but are not in the City of Austin's development review process. In Review: Projects that have been submitted to the City of Austin 's review process but have not been approved at the time this database was updated. Approved: Projects which have received approval from the City of Austin's review process, but have not started construction. Active: Projects where construction has started. Outside City of Austin's jurisdiction: Projects which are outside the jurisdiction of the City of Austin and are not tracked for construction updates. Transportation Projects: These could be in or around Austin. Case Number: Case Number for the project in the City of Austin's development review process.
