    Description

This feature class displays the locations of sidewalks in the city of Janesville, along with sidewalks that are planned, sidewalks not planned and sidewalks that are deferred until a later date. It also includes the year installed or the year planned. In most locations, the sidewalk length is associated with a parcel number. There are many sidewalk fields, but there are three that mainly drive the classification for the main sidewalk map, called the Pedestrian Transportation Corridor Plan, or PTCP. The first is "Sidewalk Type", which lists the status of the sidewalk. There are four main types: Existing = The sidewalk has been installed and is currently in usePlanned Funded = The sidewalk already has been funded and is due to be installed, but it has not occured yet.Planned Unfunded = The sidewalk has not been funded, but is designated to be installed.Unplanned Unfunded = The sidewalk has not been funded and is not due to be installed. The second field that drives classification is "In Periphery." This terminology refers to the original sidewalk plan, where certain sidewalk sections along major roadways were not included because they would have limited pedistrian use or were not near residential neighborhoods. This distinction applies exclusively to Planned Unfunded sidewalks, in that "Yes" means they were part of this classification, and all other sidewalk lengths are "No" and lumped into Other Planned Unfunded. The third field that drives the classification is "Construction Round." This field lists the year that the sidewalk is slated to be installed, starting from 2013 and going to 2016. This is a way to follow the years that the sidewalk program was in place. Most other sidewalk segments have a value, with the exception of sidewalks that are considered "Deferred" for some reason. These are shown with a 9999 number as a place holder.
