This polygon feature class dataset contains geographic boundaries for the cities within Hillsborough County. The City boundaries is governed by ordinance and is only changed accordingly. Hillsborough County obtains the information of annexation ordinance, along with the legal description of property and a general area map from Cities (City of Tampa, Temple Terrace and Plant City) for the extended boundaries of its City Limit. These information are drawn using ArcMap to update existing boundaries for Cities. The boundaries are updated as needed basis when errors are found or when city annexation of a parcel of unincorporated county area have completed.
These maps are georeferenced versions of the maps produced by The University Museum, University of Pennsylvania, project at Tikal, Guatemala and published as Tikal Report 11. These georeferenced maps are intended for use with GIS (Geographic Information System) software. The maps should be useful for archaeologists, tourists and managers of Tikal National Park. This map set consists of eleven georeferenced maps. The set includes two versions of the overview map of the central sixteen square kilometers of Tikal—the "Ruins of Tikal" map. One version includes the map border. The other version is without the border. The nine remaining maps cover the inner nine square kilometers in detail, without borders. The maps were georeferenced as part of a University of Cincinnati project in Tikal, under permit of the Guatemalan government. The UC Project georeferenced the maps using land survey methods. We created transformation equations based on a point of beginning, a reference direction and a map scale. Directions and distances on the ground were transformed into UTM projected directions and distances. The point of beginning was the Petty Company benchmark shown on the "Camp Quad" map. In 2010 we determined the location with a GPS receiver. We accessed both the horizontal and vertical accuracy of the georeferenced maps. Based on 96 test points spread throughout the area of the maps, we found the median horizontal accuracy of the maps, compared to GPS, to be 5.6 meters. Based on 103 test points spread throughout the area of the maps, we found the median vertical accuracy of the maps, compared to a NASA radar altimetry mission, to be 2.1 meters. The borders of the maps were removed so the set of maps will “seamlessly” fit together in GIS. The georeferencing files are optimized for use in ArcGIS version 9.2 and beyond. This libraries dataset was created to identify the location of libraries operated by Hillsborough County Public Library Cooperative (HCPLC). This point dataset includes name and addresses of headquarter and branch offices. Addresses were geocoded with ArcMap, rejected addresses were re-matched to street networks. HCPLC includes the Tampa-Hillsborough County Public Library, the Bruton Memorial Library in Plant City, and the Temple Terrace Public Library in Temple Terrace. Together, these libraries serve over 1 million customers and share a common mission of promoting lifelong learning and an enhanced quality of life for all residents of Hillsborough County. Since September 1, 1999, library customers have benefited from being members of HCPLC through increased access to materials and programs, and the ability to request, borrow and return materials at all partner libraries. This polygon feature class dataset contains geographic boundaries for the cities within Hillsborough County. The City boundaries is governed by ordinance and is only changed accordingly. Hillsborough County obtains the information of annexation ordinance, along with the legal description of property and a general area map from Cities (City of Tampa, Temple Terrace and Plant City) for the extended boundaries of its City Limit. These information are drawn using ArcMap to update existing boundaries for Cities. The boundaries are updated as needed basis when errors are found or when city annexation of a parcel of unincorporated county area have completed.
