This layer shows the historical map of Hong Kong which depicts the plan of the City of Victoria Hong Kong in 1889. It is a set of data made available by the Lands Department under the Government of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (the “Government”) at https://portal.csdi.gov.hk ("CSDI Portal"). The source data has been processed and converted into Esri Tile layer format and then uploaded to Esri’s ArcGIS Online platform for sharing and reference purpose. The objectives are to facilitate our Hong Kong ArcGIS Online users to use the data in a spatial ready format and save their data conversion effort. For details about the data, source format and terms of conditions of usage, please refer to the website of Hong Kong CSDI Portal at https://portal.csdi.gov.hk.

Zoning data are updated by the Planning department as needed, and copied to the Open Data Portal daily. Zoning data are maintained in AutoCAD and then transferred to GIS for VicMap and the Open Data Portal. The labels for the zoning data are placed specifically in AutoCAD, so we export them as a separate layer in order to keep that fine placement. The Zoning Boundary data includes these labels as attributes as well, they just won't be quite as well-aligned as these. For Zoning Boundary (polygon) data, see also: Zoning Boundary data. The "Last Updated" date shown on our Open Data Portal refers to the last time the data schema was modified in the portal, or any changes were made to this description. We update our data through automated scripts which does not trigger the "last updated" date to change.Note: Attributes represent each field in a dataset, and some fields will contain information such as ID numbers. As a result some visualizations on the tabs on our Open Data page will not be relevant.

Fire Dispatch Areas are based on drive time analysis. Fire trucks are dispatched from the City of Victoria's three fire halls in order, based on the expected drive time to reach a destination point. The run order dispatches trucks starting from the shortest to longest expected drive time. Drive time analysis was conducted by GIS Analysts at FDM Software, for the purpose of implementing Computer Aided Dispatch with FDM Software. This layer is used in our Emergency Services Mapping. Fire Dispatch Areas are updated manually as needed.Note: Attributes represent each field in a dataset, and some fields will contain information such as ID numbers. Description

This details the boundaries of all properties within the City of Melbourne. A boundary is described as a division between adjacent political entities, tracts of private land, or geographic zones. Boundary lines may be imaginary lines, physical features that follow those lines, or the graphical representation of those lines on a map. Boundary lines between privately owned land parcels are usually called property lines.

    Description

This dataset contains GIS maps of the historical urbanization of Hong Kong at 12 timeslices from 1845-2000 (1845, 1888, 1895, 1913, 1938, 1945, 1952, 1961, 1975, 1984, 1995, and 2000). These maps were compiled through classification of historical map material, photographs, paintings, and contemporary textual accounts. The maps describe the land cover of the historical urban core of the territory of Hong Kong: Victoria City on Hong Kong Island, and the Kowloon Peninsula on the mainland. Urban form is described in terms of the Local Climate Zones (LCZ) scheme presented by Stewart & Oke (2012).

The dataset is currently in the format of a QGIS archive, but other file formats will be made available in the future and can be requested from the authors at any time.

For further details on the process of generating the maps and their application, please see Yee and Kaplan (2022).

    Description

This dataset shows the footprints of all structures within the City of Melbourne. A building footprint is a 2D polygon (or multi-polygon) representation of the base of a building or structure. The footprint is defined as the boundary of the structure where the walls intersect with the ground plane or podium, rather than an outline of the roof area (roofprint).

Where a building has a significant change in built form, multiple footprint polygons are ‘stacked’ vertically to define shape of the built form. This includes, and is not limited to:

    • Tower
    • Podium
    • Setbacks/offsets

The Australian Height Datum (AHD) is the national vertical datum for Australia. The National Mapping Council adopted the AHD in May 1971 as the datum to which all vertical control mapping would be referred

The data was captured in May 2023.

All features marked on the map may not be physical features; rather they serve as a visual cue that this will be an impassable or difficult area to manoeuver large vehicles. It also includes a few roadway design features which are placed upon a street or roadway in order to block or restrict traffic from entering into, or exiting from, or both, any street. Please also see the Traffic Obstructions data, which includes many more traffic calming features. This layer is used in our Emergency Services mapping.
