    Description

Vector polygon map data of city limits from across the State of Texas containing 2142 features.

City limits GIS (Geographic Information System) data provides valuable information about the boundaries of a city, which is crucial for various planning and decision-making processes. Urban planners and government officials use this data to understand the extent of their jurisdiction and to make informed decisions regarding zoning, land use, and infrastructure development within the city limits.

By overlaying city limits GIS data with other layers such as population density, land parcels, and environmental features, planners can analyze spatial patterns and identify areas for growth, conservation, or redevelopment. This data also aids in emergency management by defining the areas of responsibility for different emergency services, helping to streamline response efforts during crises..

This city limits data is available for viewing and sharing as a map in a Koordinates map viewer. This data is also available for export to DWG for CAD, PDF, KML, CSV, and GIS data formats, including Shapefile, MapInfo, and Geodatabase.

Publication Date: APR 2018. A vector polygon GIS file of all city and town boundaries in New York State. The file was originally a compilation of U.S. Geological Survey 1:100,000-scale digital vector files and NYS Department of Transportation 1:24,000-scale and 1:75,000-scale digital vector files. Boundaries were revised to 1:24,000-scale positional accuracy and selectively updated based on municipal boundary reviews, court decisions and NYS Department of State Local Law filings for annexations, dissolutions, and incorporations. Currently, boundary changes are made based on NYS Department of State Local Law filings (http://locallaws.dos.ny.gov/). Additional updates and corrections are made as needed in partnership with municipalities. Additional metadata, including field descriptions, can be found at the NYS GIS Clearinghouse: http://gis.ny.gov/gisdata/inventories/details.cfm?DSID=927.

    Description

This map includes change areas for city and county boundaries filed in accordance with Government Code 54900. The initial dataset was first published on October 20, 2021, and was based on the State Board of Equalization's tax rate area boundaries. As of April 1, 2024, the maintenance of this dataset is provided by the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration for the purpose of determining sales and use tax jurisdictions. The boundaries are continuously being revised when areas of conflict are discovered between the original boundary provided by the California State Board of Equalization and the boundary made publicly available by local, state, and federal government. Some differences may occur between actual recorded boundaries and the boundaries used for sales and use tax purposes. The boundaries in this map are representations of taxing jurisdictions and should not be used to determine precise city or county boundary line locations. The data is updated within 10 business days of the CDTFA receiving a copy of the Board of Equalization's acknowledgement letter.BOE_CityAnx Data Dictionary: COFILE = county number - assessment roll year - file number (see note*); CHANGE = affected city, unincorporated county, or boundary correction; EFFECTIVE = date the change was effective by resolution or ordinance (see note*); RECEIVED = date the change was received at the BOE; ACKNOWLEDGED = date the BOE accepted the filing for inclusion into the tax rate area system; NOTES = additional clarifying information about the action.*Note: A COFILE number ending in "000" is a boundary correction and the effective date used is the date the map was corrected.BOE_CityCounty Data Dictionary: COUNTY = county name; CITY = city name or unincorporated territory; COPRI = county number followed by the 3-digit city primary number used in the Board of Equalization's 6-digit tax rate area numbering system (for the purpose of this map, unincorporated areas are assigned 000 to indicate that the area is not within a city).

This parcel lines feature class represents the current city parcel lines within the City of Los Angeles. It shares topology with the Landbase Parcel_polygons feature class. The Mapping and Land Records Division of the Bureau of Engineering, Department of Public Works provides the most current geographic information of the public right of way, ownership and land record information. The legal boundaries are determined on the ground by license surveyors in the State of California, and by recorded documents from the Los Angeles County Recorder's office and the City Clerk's office of the City of Los Angeles. Parcel and ownership information are available on NavigateLA, a website hosted by the Bureau of Engineering, Department of Public Works.Associated information about the landbase parcel lines is entered into attributes. Principal attributes include:CV_LAYER: is the principal field that describes the various types of lines like street and freeway right-of-ways, tract, lots, government property and easements lines, private street lines, utility right-of-ways, and ownership lines. For a complete list of attribute values, please refer to Landbase_parcel_lines_data_dictionary.Landbase parcels lines layer was created in geographical information systems (GIS) software to display the location of parcel lots. The parcels lines layer is a feature class in the LACityLandbaseData.gdb Geodatabase dataset. The layer consists of spatial data as a line feature class and attribute data for the features. The lines are derived from the polygon feature class in the landbase parcels layer, and information about the lines is entered into attributes. The CV_LAYER field values describe the various types of lines. The right-of-way, row, line features consist of CV_LAYER = 6, CV_LAYER = 106, and portions of CV_LAYER = 1 where that line is both the city boundary and the parcel line. In some cases, a parcel line will share two different type descriptions. Refer to CV_LAYER field metadata for further explantion. Parcel information should only be added to the Landbase Parcels layer if documentation exists, such as a Deed or a Plan approved by the City Council. When seeking the definitive description of real property, consult the recorded Deed or Plan.List of Fields:ASSETIDCV_LAYER: This value is a number representing a different type of user-assigned layer. Each of the line segments in the landbase parcels lines are assigned one of the CV_LAYER numbers, representing a different type of line work, described below. In some cases, a parcel line will share two different type descriptions. Such as, a parcel line may have CV_LAYER = 1 City Boundary line, and it is a CV_LAYER = 8 Tract line. The Tract line description is used first, and the City Boundary line description is used second. When selecting City Boundary line using CV_LAYER = 1, then (special way to select data...). The right-of-way, row, line features consist of CV_LAYER = 6, CV_LAYER = 106, and portions of CV_LAYER = 1 where that line is both the city boundary and the parcel line. Values: • 50 - Lot cut linework. • 38 - Freeway ease as easement lines. • 108 - Tract lines that are private street lines. • 8 - Tract lines, Rancho lines, Freeway (Fwy), and Right of way lines. • 30 - Former city boundary lines; other city or county boundary line. • 34 - Overlap lines. • 6 - Right of way (R/W) sidelines. • 19 - LA City easement lines. • 21 - All governmental lines (Fee). • 37 - APN (BPP) lines shown on tax assessors map (PCL maps); but no new PIN is created for the parcels polygon feature. • 48 - Subdivision title anno shown for ownership purpose (lot cut). • 10 - Lot lines. • 68 - SBBM (San Bernardino Base Meridian) section lines. • 1 - Boundary lines (existing). • 110 - Lot lines that are private street lines. • 18 - All governmental easement lines (except LA City and State freeway ease right of way lines). • 106 - Fwy traveled roadway lines; Dash right of way lines; Railroad and transmission lines. • 0 - Cadastral format.SHAPE: Feature geometry.OBJECTID: Internal feature number.ID: A unique numeric identifier of the polygon. The ID value is the last part of the PIN field value.MAPSHEET: The alpha-numeric mapsheet number, which refers to a valid B-map or A-map number on the Cadastral tract index map. Values: • B, A, -5A - Any of these alpha-numeric combinations are used, whereas the underlined spaces are the numbers.

The USGS Protected Areas Database of the United States (PAD-US) is the official inventory of public parks and other protected open space. With more than 9 billion acres in more than 350,000 holdings, the spatial data in PAD-US represents public lands held in trust by thousands of national, State and regional/local governments, as well as non-profit conservation organizations. These statistics summarize the complete 2.0 database – fee lands, overlapping designations, easements, proclamation boundaries and marine areas. Manager Name describes the land manager or administrative agency name standardized for the Nation (USFS, BLM, State Fish and Wildlife, State Parks and Rec, City, NGO, etc). DOD lands shown with outline. This map is based on the PAD-US 2.0 Combined Proclamation, Marine, Fee, Designation, Easement feature class and provides a general overview of land and water managers including management designations. This vector tile layer was created for use in a webmap with a feature layer created from the same data set.PAD-US is published by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Science Analytics and Synthesis (SAS), Gap Analysis Project (GAP). GAP produces data and tools that help meet critical national challenges such as biodiversity conservation, recreation, public health, climate change adaptation, and infrastructure investment. See the GAP webpage for more information about GAP and other GAP data including species and land cover.

    Description

The 2022 cartographic boundary shapefiles are simplified representations of selected geographic areas from the U.S. Census Bureau's Master Address File / Topologically Integrated Geographic Encoding and Referencing (MAF/TIGER) Database (MTDB). These boundary files are specifically designed for small-scale thematic mapping. When possible, generalization is performed with the intent to maintain the hierarchical relationships among geographies and to maintain the alignment of geographies within a file set for a given year. Geographic areas may not align with the same areas from another year. Some geographies are available as nation-based files while others are available only as state-based files. The primary legal divisions of most states are termed counties. In Louisiana, these divisions are known as parishes. In Alaska, which has no counties, the equivalent entities are the organized boroughs, city and boroughs, municipalities, and for the unorganized area, census areas. The latter are delineated cooperatively for statistical purposes by the State of Alaska and the Census Bureau. In four states (Maryland, Missouri, Nevada, and Virginia), there are one or more incorporated places that are independent of any county organization and thus constitute primary divisions of their states. These incorporated places are known as independent cities and are treated as equivalent entities for purposes of data presentation. The District of Columbia and Guam have no primary divisions, and each area is considered an equivalent entity for purposes of data presentation. The Census Bureau treats the following entities as equivalents of counties for purposes of data presentation: Municipios in Puerto Rico, Districts and Islands in American Samoa, Municipalities in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, and Islands in the U.S. Virgin Islands. The entire area of the United States, Puerto Rico, and the Island Areas is covered by counties or equivalent entities. The generalized boundaries for counties and equivalent entities are based on those as of January 1, 2022, primarily as reported through the Census Bureau's Boundary and Annexation Survey (BAS).

    Description

The 2020 cartographic boundary KMLs are simplified representations of selected geographic areas from the U.S. A consolidated city is a unit of local government for which the functions of an incorporated place and its county or minor civil division (MCD) have merged. This action results in both the primary incorporated place and the county or MCD continuing to exist as legal entities, even though the county or MCD performs few or no governmental functions and has few or no elected officials. Where this occurs, and where one or more other incorporated places in the county or MCD continue to function as separate governments, even though they have been included in the consolidated government, the primary incorporated place is referred to as a consolidated city. The Census Bureau classifies the separately incorporated places within the consolidated city as place entities and creates a separate place (balance) record for the portion of the consolidated city not within any other place. Description

Urban heat islands are small areas where temperatures are unnaturally high - usually due to dense buildings, expansive hard surfaces, or a lack of tree cover or greenspace. People living in these communities are exposed to more dangerous conditions, especially as daytime high and nighttime low temperatures increase over time. NOAA Climate Program Office and CAPA Strategies have partnered with cities around the United States to map urban heat islands. The NOAA Visualization Lab, part of the NOAA Satellite and Information Service, has made the original heat mapping data available as feature services.

    Description

Austin's Communications & Technology Management Department is pleased to provide this zip code dataset for general use, designed to support a variety of research and analysis needs. Please note that while we facilitate access to this data, the dataset is owned and produced by the United States Postal Service (USPS). Users are encouraged to acknowledge USPS as the source when utilizing this dataset in their work.

U.S. ZIP Code Areas (Five-Digit) represents five-digit ZIP Code areas used by the U.S. Postal Service to deliver mail more effectively. The first digit of a five-digit ZIP Code divides the United States into 10 large groups of states numbered from 0 in the Northeast to 9 in the far West. Within these areas, each state is divided into an average of 10 smaller geographical areas, identified by the second and third digits. These digits, in conjunction with the first digit, represent a sectional center facility or a mail processing facility area. The fourth and fifth digits identify a post office, station, branch or local delivery area.

This product is for informational purposes and may not have been prepared for or be suitable for legal, engineering, or surveying purposes. It does not represent an on-the-ground survey and represents only the approximate relative location of property boundaries. This product has been produced by the City of Austin for the sole purpose of geographic reference. No warranty is made by the City of Austin regarding specific accuracy or completeness.

    Description

This layer represents all the public and many of the private roadways in Massachusetts, including designations for Interstate, U.S. and State routes.

Formerly known as the Massachusetts Highway Department (MHD) Roads, then the Executive Office of Transportation - Office of Transportation Planning (EOT-OTP) Roads, the MassDOT roads layer includes linework from the 1:5,000 road and rail centerlines data that were interpreted as part of the 1990s Black and White Digital Orthophoto project. The Massachusetts Department of Transportation - Office of Transportation Planning, which maintains this layer, continues to add linework from municipal and other sources and update existing linework using the most recent color ortho imagery as a base. The attribute table includes many "road inventory" items maintained in MassDOT's linear referencing system.

The data layer published in November 2018 is based on the MassDOT 2017 year-end Road Inventory layer and results of a 2014-2015 MassDOT-Central Transportation Planning Staff project to conflate street names and other attributes from MassGIS' "base streets" to the MassDOT Road Inventory linework. The base streets are continually maintained by MassGIS as part of the NextGen 911 and Master Address Database projects. MassGIS staff reviewed the conflated layer and added many base street arcs digitized after the completion of the conflation work. MassGIS added several fields to support legacy symbology and labeling. Other edits included modifying some linework in areas of recent construction and roadway reconfiguration to align to 2017-2018 Google ortho imagery, and making minor fixes to attributes and linework.

In ArcSDE this layer is named EOTROADS_ARC.

From this data layer MassGIS extracted the Major Roads and Major Highway Routes layers.
