The City of Cleveland’s Land Reutilization (Land Bank) Program is designed to acquire vacant land and market it to individuals, developers, and non-profit organizations for redevelopment. The goal is to contribute to the economic, social, and environmental betterment of Cleveland through the redevelopment of City-owned land.The Land Bank has prescreened all parcels and in consultation with the Councilperson, local Community Development Corporation, and Planning Commission, the City has determined to recommend a strategy to ensure the best interests of the public are served with the disposition of Land Bank properties. This data is updated quarterly using the latest information from the Fiscal Office and is meant to show properties utilizing the popular economic development tools of tax incentives program for abatements and TIFs. Abatements allow for property tax to be waived for any increase in property value resulting from a qualifying property improvement. TIFs allow for the redirecting of property tax resulting any increase in property value resulting from a qualifying improvement to assist in financing the property improvement or infrastructure needed for the property improvement.
