    Description

This dataset contain the 1:20,000 scale contour elevation text converted from the Provincial Digital Base Mapping Project. These contours require the use of elevation text to properly interpret the elevation value of a specific contour. There are two major types of contours, index contours and intermediate contours. Index contours are identified every 5th contour line. For Alberta, the index contour intervals occur every 50 metres in relatively flat terrain and every 100 metres in mountainous terrain. Intermediate contours are contour lines that occur between the index contours. For Alberta, the intermediate contour intervals are every 10 metres in relatively flat terrain and every 20 metres in mountainous terrain. Where elevation change is sudden, intermediate contours may be deleted and only index contours are shown. The elevation text is associated with the index contours. Currently, no contour information exists for Banff, Jasper and Wood Buffalo National Parks and also for the extreme north east portion of the province. See the Completeness Report in this metadata record for details regarding coverage.

    Description

This dataset contains all of the 1:20 000 scale contour information converted from the Provincial Digital Base Mapping Project. These contour arcs are a cartographic product and they do not have any elevation values attributed to the spatial features. Index contours are identified every 5th contour line. For Alberta, the index contour intervals occur every 50 metres in relatively flat terrain and every 100 metres in mountainous terrain. Description

Source:1 foot contours were generated for each production block from the final bare earth DEMs using ArcGIS software. Using ArcGIS software, the contours were validated for correct topology, including must not intersect, must not self intersect, and must not have dangles. Contours are then manually reviewed with the 3D breaklines to ensure complete coverage, correct coding, data integrity and that contours behave correctly around water bodies, water crossings, and elevated features such as overpasses. The contours are then clipped to individual tiles as creating one dataset for the entire project renders the feature class un-usable. Enclosed contours completely within building footprints were removed from the final contour dataset. Coordinate System:The data was developed based on a horizontal datum/projection of NAD83 (2011), State Plane Connecticut, U.S. Survey Feet and vertical datum of NAVD88 (GEOID18) Development:This vector tile package contains contour lines originally derived in the State Plane coordinate system. Prior to generating the tile service, individual contour blocks were merged into a single, seamless data layer to ensure consistency and completeness across the project area. This unified dataset served as the basis for creating the vector tile package. During the creation of the vector tile index, Web Mercator was used as the tiling reference to enable proper indexing and tile generation within ArcGIS Online. Please note that while the vector tile index references Web Mercator for mapping and display purposes, the contour line geometries are aligned with the original State Plane coordinate system, maintaining consistency with the source data used in production. However, users should be aware the conditions may have changed since the data was originally collected, and some areas may no longer accurately reflect current surface features. This data should not be used for critical decision-making without a full understanding of their limitations.

This Kentucky-specific quadrangle index grid was developed for the KyTopo Map Series. The 60,000' x 40,000' grid tiles are landscape oriented, fit on a standard Arch-D sized sheet, and have newly generated contours based on a KyFromAbove LiDAR-derived DEM. The 60k x 40k grid is a superset of the Kentucky Single Zone based 5k grid that is utilized for organizing and distributing most all of the Commonwealth's raster data holdings. Quadrangle names were developed utilizing a USGS methodology that focuses on the most prominent map features. Clicking on a grid tile shows the names, contour interval, contour index interval, and provides links to download currently available versions of that map.Data Download: https://ky.box.com/v/kymartian-KyTopo-QuadTiles

This data set represents smoothed, 2-foot bare earth contours (isolines) for the Lower Androscoggin (01040002) HUC 8 unit. It was derived from a data set which was compiled from LIDAR collections in NH available as of spring, 2019. The raster was filtered using the ArcGIS FOCAL STATISTICS tool with a 3x3 circular neighborhood. The contours were generated using the ArcGIS CONTOUR tool while applying a Z factor of 3.2808 to convert the elevation values from meters to feet. The filtered contours were then smoothed using the ArcGIS SMOOTH LINE tool. The data include an INDEX field with values of 10 and 100 to flag 10 and 100-foot contours. When viewed using this service, contours become visible at scales greater than 1:10,000.

Contour intervals are assigned by 7.5-minute quadrangle, so this vector dataset is not visually seamless across quadrangle boundaries. The vector lines have elevation attributes (in feet above mean sea level on NAVD88), but this dataset does not carry line symbols or annotation.Data downloaded from https://prd-tnm.s3.amazonaws.com/index.html?prefix=StagedProducts/Contours/National/GDB/

This data set contains bathymetric isolines for the Salton Sea at an interval of five feet. This data was generated from the sounding points taken by Bureau of Reclamation staff as part of a reconnaissance study perfomed for the Salton Sea Science Advisory Committee. This data has been extensively computer-generalized and manually smoothed using a graphic editor. Every fifth contour has also been coded as an index contour to mimic conventional symbolization of topography and bathymetry, and all contours have been assigned both elevation and depth.
