    Description

This vector tile layer was last updated in September 2016. The vector tile layer provides a detailed basemap for the world symbolized with a custom street map style that is designed for use at night or in other low-light environments. The vector tile layer is similar in content to the popular World Street Map, which is delivered as a map service with raster fused map cache. This layer is delivered as a vector tile service that provides unique capabilities for customization, high-resolution display, and offline use in mobile devices. This vector tile layer is built using the same data sources used for the World Street Map and other Esri basemaps. The comprehensive street map includes highways, major roads, minor roads, railways, water features, cities, parks, landmarks, building footprints, and administrative boundaries. Alignment of boundaries is a presentation of the feature provided by our data vendors and does not imply endorsement by Esri or any governing authority.Updated Map Design & TilesThis style references an updated set of vector tiles that is different from our initial beta vector release in November 2015. This Beta 2 (B2) release in May 2016 included significant additional detail in the data, changes to the root.json file, and new fonts to facilitate local language display. More updates to this layer file are expected during the beta period. For details on improvements to the data and layer files, please refer to these articles on the ArcGIS Online Blog.Use this MapThis map is designed to be used as a basemap layer or reference layer in a web map. You can add this layer to a web map and save as your own map. If you would like to use this map as a basemap layer in a web map, you may use the Esri web map item already created with this layer.Customize this MapBecause this map is delivered as a vector tile layer, users can customize the map to change its content and symbology, including fonts. Users are able to turn on and off layers, change symbols for layers, switch to alternate local language (in some areas), and refine the treatment of disputed boundaries. For details on how to customize this map, please refer to these articles on the ArcGIS Online Blog and view the Esri Vector Basemaps Reference Document.

    Description

This OGC compliant Web Map Service includes a historical image data set of a mosaic of black and white photography of New Jersey from the early 1930s. The source imagery was hand cut to produce 261 mosaic tile prints on linen-backed paper. The data set for this service was produced by scanning these mosaic tile prints at 400 dpi and saved as TIFF images. The scanned TIFF images had an approximate pixel resolution of 6.5 feet. They were georeferenced against 1995/97 color infrared digital orthophotography. The georeferenced TIFFs were clipped and converted into other image formats. The digital product has not been corrected for distortion or vertical displacement. They do not meet the National Standard for Spatial Data Accuracy (NSSDA).

    Description

This style provides a detailed vector basemap for Great Britain using Open Data featuring a neutral background style for use primarily as a background map to provide context to other data. The labels are in local language providing Welsh, Scottish Gaelic and local English names where they are available. The cartography is similar to the OS Open Background, which is delivered as a raster tile layer, but as it is a vector tile layer it provides capabilities for customization and high-resolution display. The vector tile layer is a custom variation of the GB Background tile layer. The GB Background tile layer was updated simply by changing the "text-field" value for a few layers in the map from '_name' to '_name_local'. This service contains data supplied by the Ordnance Survey in their Zoomstack product (data last updated December 2024)The map projection is British National Grid.Customise this MapBecause this is a vector tile layer, you can customise the map to change its content and symbology. You are able to turn on and off layers and change their symbols. You can open this style in the vector tile style editor, make your changes and save a copy of your modified style to use yourself. Please send any feedback to VectorTiles@esriuk.com
